How it works

Upload once, pick what to make

From a file on your laptop to things you can publish, in four steps.

  1. Upload

Drop in a keynote, webinar, panel or talk. Audio or video, up to 1 GB.

  2. Transcript

Mato transcribes it with speakers. Rename a speaker, or play the recording from any line.

  3. Kit

Mato plans what the recording can become. Each suggestion says why it was picked and what it costs.

  4. Make

Make one thing, or everything that’s ready at once. The activity center shows each one as it runs.

In our own test, a 45-minute keynote (498 MB) took about 2.5 minutes to upload, about a minute to transcribe and about 90 seconds more to plan the kit.

The kit

A plan for every recording

Episodes, clips, articles, newsletters and posts, planned from what was actually said.

Picked for a reason

Mato plans the kit from the transcript and chooses clip moments from the word-level transcript. Every suggestion says why it was picked and what it costs before you make it.

  • Accept what fits and dismiss the rest
  • Make one thing, or everything that’s ready
  • Items that use the recording itself wait for your approval

Episodes in three formats

  1. AI recap

    Your hosts retell it

Your show’s hosts retell the recording in their own words. It uses the transcript, so it works on transcript only.

  2. Hosted highlights

Your hosts introduce the best moments

The best recorded moments, introduced by your hosts. It uses the recording itself, so it needs source use.

  3. Edited recording

The recording, cut to its best parts

No synthetic voices at all. The recording itself, edited down. It needs source use.

Rights you control

Transcript only, until you approve more

Every recording starts on transcript only. Using its own audio or video takes an explicit approval.

  • Edited recording episodes

This recording is transcript only. Approving source use unlocks an Edited recording episode and 5 clips from the video.

Approve only if every speaker agreed to be published. Articles, the newsletter and posts work either way. You can change this later.
