Watching My Dad's Movies

Published by Christopher Corbin

  • TV & film
  • Film interviews

My dad, Barry Corbin, has been working in Hollywood as a character actor since be played opposite John Travolta in 1980's Urban Cowboy. Since then he's worked with legends on masterpieces (like the Coen Brother's No Country For Old Men) and with legends on disasters (like Sidney Poitier's Ghost Dad). Each week I watch one of his movies, and then interview my dad about his experience on it. Then I sit down with my co-host Nick Casalini and we talk about the movie and our lives. Season One starts September 21, 2026! New episode each Monday. Now... go watch a movie!

Welcome to Watching My Dad's Movies! The podcast where I, Christopher Corbin, watch all the movies my dad, Barry Corbin, has acted in. And as you'll see he's been in tons of them. Every episode I interview him about these movies (like No Country For Old Men, Urban Cowboy and Killers of the Flower Moon). He tells some crazy Hollywood stories and I get to learn about his life and career (like the time he had to leave the set of Stir Crazy because Richard Pryor was ready to shoot a crew member). Then I talk with my friend Nick Casalini about each film, how it impacted us personally and where I was at in my life when my dad worked on it. Each episode weaves these two conversations together as I do my best to honor my dad's career and, at times, poke fun at him (and his wigs). Tune in to hear about Tom Hanks, John Candy, Gene Wilder, Dom DeLuise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Burt Reynolds, Dolly Parton, Adrien Brody, Martin Scorsese, The Coen Brothers, John Travolta and so many more. Plus Nick and I share all kinds of personal stories and explore how each movie relates to our lives. Episodes drop every Monday starting September 21, 2026.
