In this episode, I chat with Daniel Lazo, director, FUI designer and filmmaker whose work spans film, automotive interfaces and emerging technology. Daniel has worked on FUI for films including Tron: Ares and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, created futuristic dashboards for cars and motorcycles, and directed a short film that went on to attract millions of views. He also successfully took a film project to Kickstarter. We talk about how Daniel got into the industry, the realities of freelancing, finding and attracting the kind of work you actually want, and how to get your work seen. We also dig into his experience making a film, designing UI for fictional worlds, 3D printing, the impact of AI, and how the creative industry has changed over the years. Most importantly, Daniel shares his perspective on building a creative career, staying relevant as technology changes, and where he thinks the industry is heading next.
