Role Playing Public Radio presents a weekly Actual Play podcast of tabletop role playing game sessions. We play a wide variety of RPGs, from popular classics like Dungeons and Dragons and Call of Cthulhu to indie hits like Red Markets and Fate. Some of our episodes are stand-alone scenarios and we also feature ongoing campaigns in games like Delta Green, Eclipse Phase, and Base Raiders. A group of takers are hired to retrieve a flash drive from the glove box of a cybertruck currently located in an abandoned shopping mall. Unfortunately, the only way to safely open the glovebox is through the cybertruck software, which required recharging the vehicle and jailbreaking the software, all the while in a mall overrun with the infected. In the future, one MMO, Ultracraft, dominates the world. The game is so immersive and complex that millions of people play it, using cybernetic implants to fully live the game. A group of players eager to try out the new expansion stumble upon a mystery that reaches back into the real world. This is episode 0 and 1 of Bridget's new cyberpunk campaign that uses a fantasy RPG to resolve all action in the MMO section. Lord Fairfax was a wealthy and successful merchant. Having purchased and experienced all the oddities the surface had to offer, Fairfax became obsessed with the Shadowdark. One day, dark clouds formed over his castle. Crawlers who ventured close said that golden mist spills from the keep. None who enter ever leave again. Locals now call it Castle Goldgloom and laugh when crawlers take the old road that leads to its doors. New York State formed the Riley Commission in 1981 to determine the cause of sickness in a number of cases involving gold jewelry. It discovered that someone had taken gold brachytherapy seeds contaminated with radion-222 and smelted them down to make jewelry. Individual wearing the jewelry frequently developed skin cancer or other diseases when wearing the jewelry. This was publicly revealed and investigated. The Commission kept some of its other findings secret, namely that other gold jewelry found during the investigation consistently led to psychotic episodes and mental breakdowns. The last member of the Commission, Albert Bradford, died under unusual circumstances. His grandson, Stephen Bradford, recently found a diary Albert kept during the Commission. Stephen has made inquiries related to the contents of the diary. These inquiries were entered into computers and flagged by Delta Green's monitoring system for containing multiple flagged keywords and terms.
