Gordon Mac MBE joins the Global Club & Dance Hall Of Fame to tell the story of a remarkable life in music — from falling in love with radio and DJing as a teenager to co-founding Kiss FM in 1985, when it was a South London pirate station championing underground music. He recalls the extraordinary rise of Kiss, taking the station from pirate radio to becoming a legal 24-hour dance station, the DJs and the explosion of house, soul, reggae, hip-hop and dance music that transformed British club culture. Gordon also reveals why he returned to radio years after leaving Kiss - launching Mi-Soul Radio after realising there was a generation of Kiss listeners who had grown up but still wanted the music they loved. He explains how he tracked down many of the DJs who had been pushed out of mainstream radio and brought them together again.His philosophy has remained the same: radio should give great DJs a platform. As Gordon puts it, “I didn't create these DJs I just gave them a platform.” He also talks about his deep connection with Ibiza, from his first visit in the 1980s and early Kiss Ibiza parties to three different chapters on the island, his love of its music and escapism, and the people and places that have stayed with him. Jason Bye’s Ibiza story began in 1992 on a Club 18-30 holiday. Within a year he was back on the island, determined to find a way to stay - even sleeping on the beach while looking for work.A chance job at Bucanero, working for owner Javier Anadón, became the beginning of something much bigger. In 1994, Javier invited Jason to come and play some records at his new bar - Café Mambo. With Brandon Block, Alex P and Sasha among the DJs hanging out, Jason found himself behind the decks when the others were, as he puts it, “too hedonistic” to play. Barbara Tucker "The Queen Of House", is a legendary vocalist, songwriter and performer, widely regarded as one of the house music's defining voices. Vicky Devine is one of the pioneering female trance DJs who helped break UK talent onto the international stage. After moving to Ibiza in 2000, she became the long-running main room resident at Judge Jules' legendary Judgement Sundays at Eden, playing weekly for over a decade and establishing herself as one of the island's most respected resident DJs. Throughout her career she's toured globally, performed at virtually every major Ibiza club, released music on leading trance labels, launched her own DE:VA Recordings imprint, and earned support from artists including Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold. Beyond DJing and production, Vicky has worked extensively across radio, television, artist management and music publishing, and today serves as Head of Creative & Licensing at Truelove Music Publishing while continuing to DJ and produce.
