When you have twins, it’s almost impossible not to compare. One rolls first. One crawls first. One starts walking while the other seems perfectly happy taking their time. So how do you know what’s normal — and when there might actually be something worth checking? In this episode, we’re joined by paediatric physiotherapist Ali Day, founder of Little Ones Physiotherapy and author of The Baby Playbook , to take some of the pressure out of baby development. Ali explains why milestones are better thought of as windows rather than deadlines, why twins born on the same day can still develop months apart, and how corrected age should be considered for babies born prematurely. We also get practical about what developmental play actually looks like when you’re juggling two babies — including tummy time, floor play, cuddling and connection — and why supporting development doesn’t need to mean adding another long list of things to your day. We chat about: Why twins don’t need to reach milestones at the same time How corrected age affects developmental milestones Tummy time — when to start and how to make it achievable with multiples Why quality of play matters more than quantity Cuddling, bonding and dividing your attention between two babies Walkers, activity centres, bouncers and other baby equipment When it might be worth checking in with a paediatric physiotherapist Hip dysplasia and why it can be particularly relevant for multiples Why free floor play can be one of the best things you can give your baby Most importantly, Ali reminds us that our babies are individuals. One twin being “behind” the other doesn’t necessarily mean they’re behind at all — and supporting their development doesn’t need to be complicated. When you’re raising twins or multiples, exhaustion and overwhelm can feel like part of the job. But when does the mental load become something more — and would you know the signs? In this episode, we’re joined by Julie Borninkhof, CEO of PANDA — Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia , to talk about parental mental health through the lens of raising multiples. Julie explains what perinatal mental health can look like, why parents of multiples are at greater risk, and how difficult it can be to recognise when you’re struggling when sleep deprivation, stress and overwhelm already feel normal. We also talk about the impact of high-risk pregnancy, prematurity, NICU and birth trauma, the loss of identity that can come with becoming a parent, and why the mental load doesn’t necessarily ease once you’re out of the newborn stage. We chat about: Why parents of multiples are at greater risk of mental health challenges What postnatal depression and anxiety can look like When normal postpartum overwhelm becomes something more The impact of prematurity, NICU, birth trauma and sleep deprivation Identity loss and the mental load of raising multiples Why the challenges can continue into the toddler years Mental health in dads and non-birthing parents Recognising the signs, starting the conversation and where to seek support Most importantly, this conversation is a reminder that mental health is something to maintain — not something we should only address when we reach breaking point. Postpartum psychosis is currently part of a global conversation, with the Lindsay Clancy trial bringing a condition many people have never heard of into the spotlight. But what does postpartum psychosis actually look like — and would you know the signs? In this episode, we’re joined by twin mum and mental health advocate Katrina Weynberg for an incredibly open conversation about experiencing postpartum psychosis after the premature birth of her identical twins, Mumford and Murphy. Katrina takes us from finding out she was having twins, through an unexpected delivery at 33 weeks and seven weeks of NICU, to becoming increasingly unwell in the days after birth. At 12 days postpartum, she was diagnosed with postpartum psychosis and admitted to an adult psychiatric ward, separated from her newborn babies while receiving treatment. We also talk about what happened after psychosis — returning home with newborn twins, experiencing postnatal depression, waiting months for a place in a public Mother and Baby Unit and eventually being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. We chat about: What postpartum psychosis is and the signs families should know The role sleep deprivation played in Katrina’s experience How her husband recognised that something wasn’t right Being admitted to a psychiatric ward while her twins remained in NICU The difference between postpartum psychosis and postnatal depression Access to Mother and Baby Units and why keeping mums and babies together matters Receiving a bipolar diagnosis after becoming a mum What partners, family and friends should look out for postpartum Where to seek help if you’re concerned about yourself or someone you love Raising twins while navigating postpartum mental health and recovery At a time when postpartum psychosis is being talked about more than ever, this is an important conversation about understanding what it can actually look like, recognising when something isn’t right and making sure families know that support is available. Becoming a mum changes everything. But what happens when you’re also an elite athlete trying to make your way back to the world stage — with twins at home? In this episode, we’re joined by two-time Olympian and twin mum Morgan Mitchell for an honest, hilarious and refreshingly real conversation about twin motherhood, returning to elite sport and chasing another Olympic dream. Morgan takes us from finding out she was pregnant with twin girls Honey and Maya, through a difficult pregnancy, giving birth at 35 weeks and their time in NICU, to recovering from a C-section and beginning the biggest comeback of her career. We also talk about what it really takes to balance ambition and motherhood — training, travelling, spending time away from her girls, missing milestones and leaning on her husband, family and wider village to make it all possible. We chat about: The reality of a difficult twin pregnancy and NICU time Recovering from a C-section and returning to elite sport The physical and mental side of her Olympic comeback Balancing training, travel and twin motherhood The importance of having a strong support system Making time for yourself as a mum Her road to the LA 2028 Olympic Games Letting go of parenting pressure and doing what works for your family It’s a conversation about motherhood and ambition existing side by side — and finding a way to keep chasing your own dreams while raising two little people. Every parent has had that moment: Is this an emergency? Am I overreacting? Do I call an ambulance, go to hospital, or wait and see? In this episode, we’re joined by registered paramedic and mum Codi from Nurture & Know to talk through the baby and child emergencies every parent hopes they’ll never face — but needs to know how to respond to. From choking and CPR to fevers, breathing difficulties and head injuries, Codi breaks down what parents should actually be looking for, the red flags that shouldn’t be ignored, and when it’s time to seek medical help. We also talk about the realities of emergencies when you have twins or multiple young children — including what happens if one child needs an ambulance while you’re home alone with another, and what to consider when feeding two babies at once. And perhaps most importantly, we talk about confidence . Because in an emergency, you don’t want to be learning what to do for the first time. We chat about: How to know when to call an ambulance The difference between gagging and choking What to do if a baby or child is choking When CPR becomes necessary Head injuries and the red flags to watch for Fevers and febrile convulsions What breathing distress can actually look like What to do in an emergency when you’re alone with twins or multiple children When to learn baby and child first aid — and how often to refresh it It’s one of those episodes we hope you’ll never need — but one that could make all the difference if you do. In this episode, we’re talking about one of the most overwhelming parts of preparing for twins: what do you actually need for two babies? We compare our very different hospital bag experiences — what we packed, what we wish we’d packed more of, what we barely touched, and the random things that ended up being lifesavers. Then we get into what you actually need once your twins arrive — from feeding, sleeping and changing to getting out of the house, what you genuinely need two of, and what you can absolutely wait to buy. Consider this the episode we wish we’d had when we were trying to work out WTF we actually needed for two babies.
