Happy September from your favorite book girlies! The Same Page Book Club kicks off the month with a check in on where we all are in our fantasy journeys, as well as a catch up on a few beach reads before the end of the season. Combing through the Sarah J Maas books looking for clues before the double header later this year, we make sure we will have all bases covered! Tread carefully for Throne Of Glass, ACOTAR and Crescent City spoilers. After lots of excited feedback, we’re all looking forward to the breakdown of September’s book, The Calamity Club, next episode. We’re back with our August book review and boy are we glad we changed our reading rules! Fran, Gia and Kelly unanimously agreed that Into the Blue by Emma Brodie was both a page turner and a tear jerker. Grief, humor, sex, show business - AJ and Noah went through it ALL. The girls have a thoughtful discussion about being in the shoes of either protagonist through some of the highest highs and lowest lows we’ve ever seen anyone write about, and ultimately how touching the story ended up being by the end. One of our SPBC hosts even hands out her first five star review! Be sure to check our socials for the rest of our book schedule for the fall, and happy reading! Fran, Gia and Kelly get together to discuss the new format of Book Club episodes moving forward, and dive right into exciting Rebecca Yarros/Sarah J Maas book news, TV/Movie adaptations to keep an eye on as well as their 'It Happened One Summer' casting thoughts, and a lengthy discussion about what else the girls are reading (other than August’s book, Into the Blue by Emma Brodie, of course!) Fran, Gia and Kelly finish up Wild Dark Shore, uncovering the many mysteries of the island and have decided… they’re not all too happy about it! The girls continue to discuss the biggest themes surrounding the melancholy biodome that has engulfed the island, Rowan, Dominic and whoever else may have washed ashore. They go on to assemble one of the best movie/TV casting lists we’ve ever seen, just in case Hollywood calls! Follow us at @samepagebookclub on IG and watch us on YouTube: barstool.link/the-same-page
Fran, Kelly and Gia try to uncover the many mysteries in the first half of Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy, and at the halfway mark we are READY for some answers! What happened to these people? Is this book too depressing to read on the beach? And most importantly - are all of the narrators actually alive? Phoebe Berman finally lost it! Fran, Kelly and Gia spend a good amount of time dissecting exactly how correct Kelly was in her guessing of the Fate of Phoebe. Whether you saw the twist coming or not, Brooke Averick’s introductory novel leaves us feeling excited for future Phoebe adventures - and a new Netflix movie to boot! Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It…and so are our hosts! Brooke Averick’s ability to paint a vivid picture of anxiety around dating and life in general has us rooting for her growth, her luck to turn around, and for that pesky virginity to see its way out. Is she looking for love (or lust) in all the wrong places? We can’t wait to find out! Follow us at @samepagebookclub on IG and watch us on YouTube: barstool.link/the-same-page
Our time on Yesteryear Ranch has come to a close…but what did time do to the Heller-Mills family? The girls break down the remainder of incredible storytelling, suspense and finally, the fate of Natalie. Follow us at @samepagebookclub on IG and watch us on YouTube: barstool.link/the-same-page
Blurring the lines between reality and fiction in a world dominated by social media (and then abruptly taken away), ‘Yesteryear’ has the girls completely captivated. Caro Claire Burke’s detailed storytelling transports us through Natalie’s timeline, and then some. Do we love her? Do we hate her? Most importantly, do we want her to have the happy ending she believes she wants? Tune into the discussion and be sure to leave your own theories on Fable! The girls are shocked by the end of ‘The Husband’s Wife!’ In a good way, or a bad way is the question. On this episode, we discuss the second half of this thriller and whether or not we enjoyed the twists at the end. We give all our feedback, plus debate who we would cast as each character.
