Hi, I’m Naomi — a wife, mama of five, and Christian parenting coach who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, reactive, and unsure how to respond to my kid’s emotional overwhelm. For years, I wanted to parent differently than the way I was raised, but I didn’t know how. I am here to support and guide you as you create a joy-filled home rooted in God’s love, where your children feel safe, seen, and deeply known. If you’re ready to parent with peace instead of stress, to respond with grace instead of frustration, and to build a home filled with connection, joy, and the presence of God—this podcast is for you. Have you ever walked away from a hard parenting moment feeling like you completely failed? In this episode, I'm sharing a very real story from one of my own mornings with my four-year-old foster son and the gentle truth God spoke to my heart afterward: failure is not an identity—it's an opportunity. We'll talk about the guilt so many of us carry after we lose our patience, how shame keeps us stuck, and how Jesus lovingly invites us into growth instead of condemnation. I'll also share two simple shifts that have brought so much more peace and connection to our mornings, along with the freedom that comes from extending God's grace not only to our children, but to ourselves. If you've been feeling discouraged or wondering if you're "getting it wrong," I pray this conversation reminds you that you are deeply loved, there is abundant grace for you, and every hard moment can become an opportunity for Jesus to gently shape your heart. I'd also love to invite you to join our free Peaceful Christian Parenting Facebook community! It's a grace-filled space where Christian mamas encourage one another, grow together, and are gently pointed back to Jesus in the everyday joys and challenges of motherhood. We'd love to welcome you! Have you ever noticed yourself becoming firmer or more controlling with your child simply because someone else was watching? Maybe you’ve been told you’re too soft, or perhaps a raised eyebrow is enough to send your mind reeling with worry about what others must think of you and your parenting. In this episode, I’m sharing a season when fear of others’ opinions pulled me away from the mother I wanted to be. We’ll walk through three gentle steps to notice this pattern, release the need to prove ourselves, and refocus on what our child’s heart truly needs. You cannot control what others think of you—but you can listen for the voice of Jesus and parent from the security of knowing you are deeply known, loved, and held by your Father. If you’re longing for personal support as you work through the fears, triggers, or patterns keeping you from parenting the way your heart desires, I would be honored to come alongside you in a one-hour coaching call. Have you ever found yourself longing for a close connection with Jesus, but feeling like there simply isn't enough time or energy? Maybe you've wondered if God is disappointed in you because your quiet time doesn't look the way it used to or "should". Friend, if you've ever carried that guilt, this episode is for you. Today I'm sharing from my own journey of navigating exhaustion, interrupted prayers, and the fear that I wasn't giving God enough. Together, we'll gently uncover three common hurdles that can keep us from intimacy with Jesus during the early years of motherhood and discover the beautiful truth of God's compassionate heart toward weary mamas. We'll also explore practical ways to remain connected with Jesus throughout the day, even in the middle of diapers, dishes, school pickups, and sleepless nights. Because while motherhood may change what time with Jesus looks like, it never changes His love for you or His delight in being with you. I pray this episode reminds you that you don't have to earn God's affection or wait for a less busy season to experience His presence. He is meeting you right here in the beauty, the chaos, and the sacred work of motherhood. Much love, 🤍Naomi If you're longing to bring more peace, connection, and confidence into your parenting, I'd love to invite you into our Listening Hearts facebook community, where we walk this beautiful and stretching journey of motherhood together. 🤍 https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1KYYK268TU/
Have you ever found yourself thinking, "Why does my child need my attention all the time?" Whether it's endless cries of "Mom, watch me!" or a constant stream of questions and conversations, it can leave us feeling stretched thin. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple but powerful mindset shift that has transformed the way I respond to these moments. Together, we'll explore why what we often call "attention-seeking" is usually something much deeper—a child's longing to be seen, heard, understood, and connected. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the constant "Mom!" or wondered how to respond with more grace instead of frustration, I pray this conversation encourages you and reminds you that these moments are not interruptions to parenting—they're an invitation into deeper connection. If you are longing for more clarity, connection and peace in your home I would love to walk alongside you. Are you exhausted by the constant sibling fighting in your home? If you've ever wondered how to stop sibling rivalry or questioned whether you're doing something wrong as a parent, this episode is for you. In today's episode, I'm sharing how Jesus has completely changed the way I view sibling conflict. I used to believe that peaceful parenting meant creating a home where my children rarely argued. But over the years, I've discovered that true peace isn't the absence of conflict—it's bringing the peace of Jesus into the middle of it. We'll talk about why sibling conflict is a normal and healthy part of childhood, what children are actually learning through disagreements, practical ways to reduce unnecessary friction, and how we can move from trying to be referees to becoming loving guides who teach kindness, repair, forgiveness, and teamwork. If you're raising siblings, I hope this conversation encourages you to see those everyday disagreements through a new lens. Rather than trying to eliminate conflict altogether, we can use these moments to help our children build the relationship skills they'll carry into friendships, marriage, church, and their own families someday. You are not failing because your children fight. With God's help, you can lovingly guide them through conflict and teach them how to become peacemakers. I would love to invite you to join my Facebook group and be encouraged by other mamas who get it! You can join HERE. Much Love, 🤍Naomi
Forgiveness can feel especially tender when the hurt is connected to our parents. In this episode, I’m sharing part of my own journey of forgiveness, healing, and learning to release bitterness while still being honest about what hurt. We’ll walk through four gentle steps from The Book of Forgiving by Desmond Tutu and Mpho Tutu: telling the story, naming the hurt, granting forgiveness, and choosing whether to renew or release the relationship. Together, we’ll talk about what forgiveness is — and what it is not. Forgiveness does not mean pretending it didn’t hurt, excusing what was wrong, or forcing closeness where there has not been safety or repair. But with Jesus, forgiveness can become a pathway toward freedom, peace, and healing in our hearts. Whether your next step is renewal, release, or simply sitting with Jesus in the pain, I pray this episode reminds you that you do not have to rush your healing. God is gentle, His timing is kind, and He can be trusted with every part of your story. If your heart feels led, I would love to support you in your journey of healing. Have you ever felt so worn out that the smallest things suddenly feel so overwhelming? In today’s episode, I’m talking about the kind of exhaustion that keeps us moving long after we have run out of energy—the exhaustion that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, short-tempered, and snapping at the people we love most. It’s not about trying harder or doing it perfectly. This is an invitation to bring compassion to the tired, frustrated parts of your heart and get curious about what may be hiding underneath the exhaustion. Could there be a fear that you are not enough? A fear that everything will fall apart if you slow down? Together, we will gently explore those questions and remember the beautiful truth that Jesus does not ask us to earn His love through productivity, perfection, or holding everything together. He sees your weary heart, and He invites you to come close, lay your burdens down, and receive His grace. I would love for you to join my Facebook group, and receive encouragement and support from other mamas who get it! You can join here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1HyMSYoP8E/ Much Love, 🤍 Naomi
Have you ever yelled at your child and then wondered, Why did I react so strongly? In this episode, I’m sharing a personal story about finding my 7-year-old hiding with my phone — and how quickly my mind jumped to fear, panic, and worst-case scenarios. But instead of reacting from that fear, God gently helped me pause, get curious, and create safety for an honest conversation. So often, what looks like anger or yelling in our parenting is really fear trying to protect what we love. Fear about our child’s safety, their future, our ability to guide them well, or what their behavior might mean. Together, we’ll talk about how to recognize the fear beneath our anger, how a “Stormy First Draft” can help us separate the facts from the fear story, and how inviting Jesus into those tender places can help us respond with more wisdom, connection, and peace. If you have been feeling discouraged by your reactions or longing to parent with more gentleness, I pray this episode reminds you that your fear and anger make sense — and that Jesus is not afraid to meet you there. Much Love, 🤍Naomi
Have you ever wondered why your child seems to fall apart over the smallest things—like the wrong color bowl, a scratchy tag, brushing teeth, or hearing the word “no”? In this episode, I’m talking about difficult, strong-willed, and highly sensitive children—and the one heart shift that can make such a difference in how we see them and respond to them. We’ll talk about “orchid” children, why some kiddos are naturally more intense and slower to adapt, and how their big reactions are not a sign that you are failing as a mom. I’ll also share how many of the traits we often label negatively in children—stubborn, bossy, defiant, difficult—can actually become beautiful strengths when they are lovingly guided and supported. Most of all, I want to help you move from seeing your child as “giving you a hard time” to seeing that they are having a hard time. Because when we can see the tender heart underneath the difficulty, our own hearts begin to soften too. If you are parenting a child who feels intense, sensitive, strong-willed, or challenging, this episode is here to offer you compassion, hope, and a reminder that you do not have to break their spirit to guide them well. If your heart is longing for more support through a challenging season, I would love to offer you one-on-one coaching (at a discounted price!) Visit: www.listeninghearts.family/gift to learn more. Much Love, 🤍 Naomi
Have you ever noticed that some of the hardest parenting moments happen when your child is being asked to transition? Getting into the car. Leaving the park. Getting out of the bath. Moving toward bedtime. Turning off the show. Stopping one thing and moving to the next. In this episode, I’m sharing a tender story from our family’s first beach vacation and how the slow-paced joy of my children helped me reconnect with something deeper: the gift of slowing down. Together, we’ll talk about why peace and rushing cannot co-exist, how our children’s resistance to transitions may be inviting us to slow down instead of push harder, and how fun and silliness can gently help our kids move through change with more connection. If you’ve been feeling caught in the go, go, go pace of life, I pray this episode encourages you to embrace the gift of summertime, let some good things go, and create more space for what matters most: deep connection, peace in your home, and joy in the precious ordinary moments right in front of you. Do you ever feel like your child’s behavior is pressing every button you have? Whether it’s whining, hitting, teasing, name-calling, potty words, or another challenging phase, these moments can leave us feeling triggered, discouraged, and wondering if anything will ever change. In this episode, we are looking beneath the behavior with two powerful questions: What need is this behavior meeting for my child? And what fear is this behavior triggering in me? Together, we’ll talk about how to approach our children’s challenging behaviors with curiosity instead of fear, how to recognize the deeper needs and skills underneath the struggle, and how to return to the one thing that truly changes everything: love. If you are longing to parent with more peace, connection, clarity, and grace, this episode will encourage your heart and remind you that you do not have to respond perfectly to respond with love. Family vacations are meant to be full of joy and connection… but if you’re parenting young kids, you know they can also bring their fair share of chaos, overwhelm, and unexpected moments. In today’s episode, I’m sharing a real and relatable story from one of our family trips—complete with loud restaurants, tired kiddos, and a moment where I had a choice: react from pressure and embarrassment… or respond with grace. We’ll talk about the quiet but powerful shift God placed on my heart—extravagant grace—and how it’s been transforming the way I show up in those overstimulating, out-of-routine moments. You’ll be encouraged to: Release the pressure to be a “perfect” parent in public Understand what’s really going on beneath your child’s behavior Respond with calm, connection, and flexibility (even when it’s hard) Extend the same grace to yourself that you offer your children This episode is a gentle reminder that your child doesn’t need a perfectly controlled environment—they need a regulated, grace-filled parent. And friend… that includes giving yourself grace, too. If you’re longing to bring more peace, connection, and confidence into your parenting, I’d love to invite you into our Listening Hearts Facebook community , where we walk this journey together 🤍 With love, ♡ Naomi

In today’s episode, we’re gently unpacking the cycle of mom guilt and self-judgment so many of us carry, and exploring how God meets us right in the middle of it—not with pressure to “get it right,” but with grace, compassion, and an invitation into deeper healing. You’ll hear a personal story of betrayal and forgiveness, and how God revealed a powerful truth about the path of growth—not as a straight line, but as a circular journey He lovingly walks us through again and again. We’ll talk about: Why you keep revisiting the same triggers and reactions How forgiveness (for others and yourself) is a process—not a one-time moment The freedom that comes when you release perfection and embrace grace How God uses even your hardest moments to draw you closer to His heart If you’ve been carrying the weight of feeling like you should be further along… or that you “should know better by now”… this episode is for you.
