Music Is None Of Our Business

It just gets harder and harder to think of decent titles. Our favourite LPs from 1982, when we were still young whippersnappers.

We went off on a tangent and did 2010 rather than 1982. I'm sure we had a good reason but I've no idea what it was. Turns out 2010 was a pretty good year for music! Who knew?

This week 1981, when we were 15 and didn't have bad backs.

We travel back to 1980, when we were 15, young and stupid. There were only 3 TV channels, the telephone had a dial, and we'd never seen a vol-au-vent. And Thatcher had just started ruining the UK.

Songs relating to time. Jake is incredibly lazy, and other than one song with weeks in the title, just picks songs that mention time. Dave is a lot more imaginative. This one takes a while to get going according to Jake, but it does get funnier. Well, a bit.

Songs with very loose connections to travel. I'm trying to remember what else we talked about, but it's about a million degrees and I'm melting, but you can guarantee we laughed, guffawed and most likely chortled a lot.

This episode is a sequel to the previous covers episode. With more covers, obvs. Plus existential angst, stabbings, Dolly Parton sounding like Johnny Cash, and more bad jokes.

This episode has songs about girls names, we discuss Jakes technical knowledge of music, and my lack of it, accidental metal, droney shit pumps, and lots of other stuff.

We pick a load of songs with boys names in the titles. Jake shames me for getting the episode no. wrong again, by leaving the whole conversation intact. Lots of waffle, some history, brain farts. The usual.

Lots of cool eponymous LPs, plus taglines, more ambient aromas, what's the point of collecting, and street cred, or lack of it.

We pick a load of tracks with colours in the title. Lots of going off in tangents, Stourbridge murals, mispronunciations, record store day rip offs, band t shirts. It's a good one.

This episode we pick songs with body parts in the title, and discuss gig etiquette, or lack of it, Gary Numan impressions, colds, really bad farts, and other tall tales.

Some of our favourite songs with creatures in the titles. Plus some rubbish regional accents, London not being a warzone, bizarre gardening accents plus general japery.

From that uninspiring title you can probably guess what this episode is about. We manage to go off topic almost immediately, but then waffle on about our favourite soundtracks. Jake says it's one of his favourite episodes so far, I'll take his word for it.

We present a trawl through some great B sides, starting with an explanation of what a B side is for you youngsters. Lots of unnecessary singing, what's goth and what's not goth, the inaccurate history of dub, some skanking, Britain's Scariest Gigs, and lots more shenanigans.
