Dreaming does not exist in a vacuum, it's in no way separate from the rest of our lives and psyches. Dreaming is trying to help the waking life... but what do I mean by help? In this episode we explore how I belive that dreaming is trying to help you fulfill the reason that you came here to this world, to aid your spiritual evolution, to grow your healing. Dreaming wants to help you soften ever more into love's embrace... But all of this only occurs if we believe it to be so. Kris Haraldson is an herbalist, shadow work coach, teacher, healer and general badass who loves helping women wake up to realizing they don't need to be anyone other than who they are. Kris walks us through her early quest to understand stories about women, how we conceptualize ourselves and how we can break free. Her life has been guided by the questions: What are the stories we carry and how do they impact us? How does other people's reaction to our stories impact our sense of self? What about the stories we inherit from religion, the overculture, etc? Kris was in the throes of studying psychology in a very cerebral academic setting when she started having visions that she had no context for. Sitting in her graduate classes flashes of quietly gathering plant medicines while feeling at peace and connected filled her mind's eye. This eventually lead to Goddess worship which helped her reconstruct an identity of womanhood that included the arts of herbalism, shamanism, energy work and intuitive work. Her experiences blew open her little researcher brain in ways she could not explain. It rooted her into her body then guided her into the terrain of shadow work. The question of AI is touching every corner, every industry, every field of study, every brain... as a dream midwife and ambassador of dreams, I feel it's my duty to share what I'm tracking on the matter of AI and dreaming. Here are my thoughts. In no particular order this shortie will cover... How YOU are the authority on YOUR dreams. A reminder to proceed with caution when outsourcing your dreams to anyone/thing outside of yourself - I said this before AI and continue to say it now. The destination of the outsourcing doesn't matter, it's the act of placing your power outside of yourself. How dreams are our direct line to our souls... OUR SOULS Y'ALL! This is very, very sacred territory. I extend an invitation to carefully consider who/what we want to invite into our very personal conversation with that connection point. I said this before AI and continue to say it now. How we can't outsource anything - including our dreaming and our imagination - without consequence. That's natural law. How dreams are evolutionary, cutting edge and emergent - coming to break us, and our world - into new territory. Pulling on already known data might not be the juiciest, most magical, most helpful, most creative source of interpretation. How human beings are dreamers. Human beings are dreamers, it's wired into our neurology. As relational communal beings, sharing dreams with fellow kind, loving souls is also wired into our beings. We're made for dream groups. There's usually an absolute feeling of rightness, wonder and yes - magic that enters the space when groups share dreams with one another in dream council. It feels magical because it's the way it's supposed to be for us. Dream groups blow the lid off the myth of separation, and grounds in our cells a knowing of our interconnectedness.
