68% of Canadians say they don't want a large AI data centre within a few blocks of their home. It's being built anyway — in Saskatchewan, in Alberta, across the country, with tens of billions of dollars behind it. Tonight, NCI LIVE and The Political Orphans join forces for a special broadcast on the AI data centre boom sweeping Canada. Former Telecom Sales Engineer Nico Lagan is joined by Saskatchewan farmer and livestock nutrition consultant John Graff. John gave testimony at the NCI hearings in High River on what this infrastructure actually costs — the electricity, the water, the land, and what it means for the food we eat. We break down what's actually being built, why it's being built here, and what Canadians need to understand before it's too late to have a say. These questions point to a broader conversation about land, authority, and property rights — issues the National Citizens Inquiry will examine further at its December hearings in Richmond, BC. Drop your questions in the comments — we'll be taking them live. Calgary just became the latest Canadian city to send drones to 911 calls before officers even arrive — but they're not the first, and they won't be the last. Tonight I break down which police forces across Canada are already doing this, what these drones can actually see and record, and why Mark Carney announcing a massive new Canadian drone industry the same week — in the same city — is worth paying attention to. We cover: The 7 Canadian police forces already using or testing Drone-as-First-Responder programs What the Skydio X10 drones Calgary is using can actually detect — plate numbers, faces, people from miles away Why "nothing is being recorded" doesn't mean what police want you to think it means Section 8 of the Charter and what "reasonable expectation of privacy" actually protects — and doesn't The legal gray zone above your own house that most Canadians don't know exists Carney and Zelenskyy's drone announcement — and the same-week, same-city timing with Calgary's police drone rollout 💲Support my work by donating right here on YouTube or buy me a coffee 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/nicolagan 🔥 LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and CLICK THAT BELL to support independent media that doesn't take government handouts. RCMP has time to knock on your door over a website post — but not enough to actually fight crime. I sat down with Tanya Gaw, founder of Action 4 Canada, after two RCMP officers showed up at her home over a "hate speech" complaint. Watch the exclusive interview and see exactly how it happened. This isn't the only case. A Stoney Creek man was just charged under the same law — Bill C-9 — for a post he made over a year ago. The complaint sat for months. The charges came right after C-9 took effect. Canada has criminalized emotions. And it's already happening to real people. 💲Support my work by donating right here on YouTube or buy me a coffee 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/nicolagan 🔥 LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and CLICK THAT BELL to support independent media that doesn't take government handouts. On Tuesday, I attended the first day of the Allison Inquiry on Parliament Hill — Canadians sharing their experiences of vaccine injury, on the record, for the first time in front of lawmakers. The room was almost empty. No mainstream media. By the afternoon, only one MP was left in the room. I share my impressions from being there in person: the MPs who showed up, the ones who didn't, a Conservative MP's answer on why he took the shot, and the testimony of a vaccine-injured veteran that no one in the room will forget. This isn't about agreeing or disagreeing with the inquiry. It's about what I witnessed. 💲Support my work by donating right here on YouTube or buy me a coffee 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/nicolagan 🔥 LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and CLICK THAT BELL to support independent media that doesn't take government handouts. Canada was built under the influence of Christian norms and values. Today, many of our laws, institutions and political leaders appear determined to erase that foundation. What happened—and what replaced it? Wilfrid Laurier University associate professor and sociologist of religion Dr. David Haskell joins me to discuss his book, Christ or Collapse: The Case Against Godless Government, and the evidence behind his argument that Christian values produce stronger individuals, families and societies. We discuss: — When and why Canada abandoned its Christian foundation — The difference between separating church and state and removing Christianity from government — Why Haskell says “diversity is not a strength” — The research connecting cultural diversity with lower social trust — Abortion, MAID and the progressive devaluation of human life — How government gradually moves the moral boundaries of society — Bill C-9 and the removal of protections for Christian expression — Why pastors and Conservative politicians refuse to defend Christian principles — Whether Canada needs a restoration of bold, unapologetic Christianity This conversation isn’t about forcing anyone to believe in Christianity. It asks whether Canada can continue to survive after abandoning the values responsible for building it. 💲Support my work by donating right here on YouTube or buy me a coffee 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/nicolagan 🔥 Like, subscribe and activate notifications to support independent Canadian media that doesn’t take government handouts. 🚨 Breaking news or guest suggestions: info@nicolagan.com
Bill C-18 was sold as a law that would save Canadian journalism. Instead, Meta pulled news off Facebook and Instagram overnight, independent media lost their reach, and now the law itself has become a sticking point in trade negotiations with the United States. CPA and host of The Really Big Show, Jim Csek, joins me to break down what Bill C-18 actually does, what it's cost independent media in Canada, and why Washington wants it gone as part of a new trade deal. We get into the real numbers behind the Canadian Journalism Collective, whether Trudeau's government knew exactly what would happen when it passed this law, and what Jim's upcoming trip to Washington is actually trying to accomplish. 💲Support my work by donating right here on YouTube or buy me a coffee 👉 https://buymeacoffee.com/nicolagan 🔥 LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and CLICK THAT BELL to support independent media that doesn't take government handouts. On August 29th, 2026, The Dominion Society's DomCon 2026 conference was pushed out of Hamilton, Ontario — after the city refused to rent its venues, the mayor personally wrote to local businesses, and Hamilton Police issued a public call asking residents to report possible venue bookings. This episode isn't about whether you agree with the Dominion Society. It's about one question: is it legal for elected officials and police to interfere with Canadians' right to assemble? We break down: — How DomCon 2026 was announced, and the pushback that followed — HARRC's "extremist activity" guide for local businesses, and the city funding behind it — Mayor Andrea Horwath's letter to Hamilton businesses — Hamilton Police's public call to report venue bookings — The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms' legal warning to the City and Police — The precedent set by Sean Feucht's cancelled Canadian tour last year — Why the event ended up selling out — in Burlington Sources cited in this episode: Dominion Society announcement: facebook.com/dominionsoc HARRC Community Call to Action: harrc.ca CBC — Hamilton mayor's letter to businesses: ici.radio-canada.ca CHCH News — Dominion Society moves event: youtube.com/watch?v=BBbfssASq8U Hamilton Police call recording: x.com/WiretapMediaCa JCCF legal warning: jccf.ca Hamilton city funding records: pub-hamilton.escribemeetings.com 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Flock Safety's CEO Garrett Langley just went viral defending his company's surveillance cameras — comparing a ban on Flock to banning cars because of drunk drivers. But this isn't just happening in the US. These same style of cameras are already being installed across Canada, and most Canadians have no idea. I break down what Flock-style ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader) cameras actually do, how over 135,000 have been installed in the US in under 6 years, and the 100+ documented cases of police abusing this technology — stalking exes, tracking abortion patients, and more. Then we bring it home: Montreal just approved 650 ALPRs and 3,500 Axon body cams for their police force, using AI software called ROC Watch. No public vote. No consultation. Just installed. I ask the questions nobody in mainstream media is asking: How long is this data actually stored? What happens to what the AI learned from it after the "retention period" ends? And who's auditing the police using it? If you care about privacy, surveillance, and government overreach — this is one you need to watch. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Mark Carney says French language rights killed the trade deal with the US. Trump says that's a lie. Someone's not telling the truth — or there's a third reason nobody's talking about. Just before the negotiation deadline, independent creators started raising a different question: was Bill C-11 and Bill C-18 quietly part of what was on the table? I break down what these laws actually do — how C-11 gives the CRTC power over what gets promoted on streaming platforms, and how C-18 pushed Meta to ban Canadian news while only compensating a small list of eligible outlets. Then I lay out the contradiction: Carney's version, Trump's version, and what independent creators were saying before the deadline hit. You tell me — who's lying? Carney, Trump, or is the real story something neither of them wants to talk about? 💲This show is 100% listener funded. No corporate, government or political money, just you! Toronto’s 2026 municipal election is approaching, and mayoral candidate Bahira Abdulsalam is drawing attention after a viral exchange questioning whether she would implement Sharia law if elected. But tonight, I want to go beyond the viral clip and look at the numbers. How large is Toronto’s Muslim voting population? How significant does that voting bloc become when municipal turnout remains low? How much influence can an organized community have when elections are decided by a fraction of eligible voters? In the 2023 mayoral by-election, Olivia Chow won with just over 269,000 votes and 37% of votes cast. Tonight, we break down Toronto’s demographics, voter turnout, the Muslim vote, strong-mayor powers, and what happened in New York City with Zohran Mamdani. Could Toronto elect its first Muslim mayor in 2026? And if not this election... Could it happen four years from now? The average Canadian family now spends nearly 42% of its income on taxes — but that's only the beginning of Canada's affordability problem. According to the Fraser Institute's 2026 Canadian Consumer Tax Index, the average Canadian family earns $121,111 and pays approximately $50,721 in taxes. But what happens to the money Canadians have left? Over the past five years, food prices have increased by approximately 27%. A family of four is projected to spend nearly $1,000 more on food this year alone. Nearly 2.2 million visits to Canadian food banks were recorded in a single month — almost double the level recorded just six years ago. Then there's housing. The average Canadian home that sold for approximately $471,000 in 2016 now costs roughly $675,000. And while a home cost approximately 2.3 times annual income in 1961, today we're looking at roughly 7.8 times annual income. And there's another part of this conversation we rarely discuss: what constitutes a basic necessity has completely changed. Internet. Cellphones. Childcare. A second vehicle. Insurance. Commuting. Expenses Canadian families either didn't have in 1961 or didn't depend on the way families do today. Tonight, we're going beyond the headline numbers and looking at what it actually costs to live in Canada in 2026 — and why so many Canadians feel like they're falling further behind regardless of how much they work. And I want to hear from you: Have you had to cut back on groceries or other necessities? Have you moved in with your family to reduce your expenses? Are you growing your own food or hunting your own meat? What have you changed to deal with Canada's rising cost of living? 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Is Pierre Poilievre's leadership actually crumbling — or are Canadians watching another mainstream media distraction while Mark Carney's government avoids scrutiny? Tonight I'm joined by Rob Anders, former Member of Parliament, founding member of the Conservative Party of Canada and someone who has known Pierre Poilievre since he was just 14 years old. With Conservative MPs crossing the floor, longtime party members walking away and questions surrounding Poilievre's leadership dominating the headlines, there are two very different stories being told. One says the Conservative Party is fractured and Pierre Poilievre is the problem. The other says Canada's mainstream media is obsessing over the opposition while giving Mark Carney and the Liberal government a free pass. So which is it? Rob Anders has been around the Canadian conservative movement for decades and knew Pierre long before most Canadians had ever heard his name. That gives him a perspective on Poilievre, the Conservative Party and the Canadian conservative movement that very few people can offer. We get into what's happening inside the Conservative Party, what conservatism actually means in Canada today, whether Pierre still represents those values and how much difference really remains between Canada's major political parties. We also examine the growing argument that Canada effectively has a Uniparty — where Conservatives may campaign against Liberal policies but too often participate in the same political system once they arrive in Ottawa. And with Canadians increasingly frustrated by both the government and the opposition, the conversation ultimately goes somewhere much bigger than Pierre Poilievre: Can Canadians still vote themselves out of the mess we're in? This isn't about defending Pierre Poilievre or attacking him. It's about figuring out what's actually happening inside Canada's Conservative Party, whether the criticism of its leader is justified, and whether Canadians are being distracted from the people currently running the country. For nearly two weeks, over 1,000 international graduates — most of them from Punjab, India — have been protesting in Calgary, staging a hunger strike after their Post-Graduation Work Permit applications were rejected en masse. Yesterday, CBSA officers showed up directly at the protest site, checking immigration documents and flagging 12 people as possibly inadmissible to Canada. Danielle Smith backed the move, saying a student visa was always meant to be temporary. Civil rights advocates are calling it a dangerous precedent — the first time border enforcement has directly targeted an active protest site in recent Canadian history. Tonight, independent journalist Jason Lavigne joins me to break it all down — what the actual rules say, how many international students are really in Canada, and why this is happening now. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Danielle Smith released a video today addressing six questions Albertans have been asking about the Meta AI data centre. What she conveniently left out is where this story actually gets interesting. She never mentioned the $70 billion Wonder Valley project — the largest AI data centre in the world, also being built in Alberta. She called the levy "no taxpayer backstop," but didn't mention it doesn't start collecting until December 2026, and companies can offset it entirely through existing tax credits. She touted a 6% drop in your transmission bill — which works out to about $1.80 a month. And she never once mentioned Mark Carney's AI For All program, the $200 billion federal strategy that explains exactly who these data centres are really being built for. Tonight I break down her video question by question — what she said, what the numbers actually mean, and why Alberta becoming the centre of Canada's AI infrastructure might make separation a lot harder than anyone's admitting. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Jeff Evely says Larry Brock just became the fourth Conservative MP — after Garnett Genuis, Leslyn Lewis, and Matt Strauss — to decline sponsoring a House of Commons petition to repeal or amend Bill C-4's conversion therapy provisions. Then, after a heated exchange with Matt Strauss, Jeff's X account got suspended. Strauss says he never even saw the request, calling it "spam correspondence." Jeff isn't convinced. Tonight, Jeff Evely joins me to break down what actually happened, what Bill C-4 does, and why he's been calling out Larry Brock, Leslyn Lewis, Garnett Genuis, and Pierre Poilievre. A Liberal MP posted a video calling the Allison Inquiry — a non-partisan citizen-led inquiry into COVID vaccine injuries — nothing more than an attention-seeking political stunt. He laughed while saying "testimony doesn't equal causation." Here's what he didn't mention: Canada's own government reported over 58,000 adverse event reports, with more than 11,700 considered serious. Out of the claims submitted to the federal compensation program, only 252 have ever been approved. Edmonton Police posted a video showing examples of what they consider "hate speech," urging citizens to report it online. They blanked out key words in every comment — and disabled their comments section shortly after posting. So we decided to read what those comments actually said. Once you fill in the blanks, the picture looks very different from what Edmonton Police wants you to believe. But that's not even the real story. The Edmonton Police Service has already deployed automatic license plate readers, tested Clearview AI facial recognition, and became the first police department in the world to trial AI facial-recognition body cameras — scanning faces in real time against a watchlist of thousands of people. Documents show the results of that pilot still haven't been made public, months after it ended. All while using algorithmic AI social media surveillance software. Now they're asking citizens to report each other for what they post online. This isn't about hate. This is about controlling what we can and cannot say. Dr. Anthony Fauci sat in front of the Senate this week and refused to answer a single question — pleading the Fifth Amendment 111 times. Republicans wanted answers on his role in the Covid pandemic. Instead, they got the same 24-word sentence, over and over. But does a presidential pardon actually protect him from pleading the Fifth? A viral video is spreading fast: a man claims his Ford Bronco shut down mid-drive on a busy freeway over one missed payment. Here's what we do know — Ford filed a patent for a system that lets a car disable itself, lock its own doors, and in some cases drive itself to a repo lot or scrapyard. That patent was abandoned. But the underlying technology? Ford sells it today, built into select 2026 models, under a name that sounds a lot less alarming than what it actually does. So is this one video real, staged, or something in between? And if it is real — was it even Ford, or someone else with access to the same kill switch?
