Brian and Judson prepare for this week’s premiere of “The Traitors: New Blood” on NBC and Peacock featuring Dads and Daddies friend and former guest (Season 2, Episode 31), the brilliant immigration attorney and anti-ICE activist Michael Foote as a contestant. Judson returns from a destination wedding in Portugal with gay beach and bathhouse recommendations. Brian succeeds in making his first “hotwifing” experience happen, where he brought together his husband and a previous hookup and watched them hookup together. The Hookup of the Week finds a trans woman taking a leap of faith that results in a magical night. Brian and Judson are then joined by actor Barrett Foa, known for his 12 seasons on “ NCIS: Los Angeles” and for his current stint on Broadway playing Mary’s Teacher opposite Bowen Yang in Oh, Mary! Barrett talks about how he has found himself on Broadway after an almost 20-year absence, what it was like to work opposite Meg Stalter and what a happy return it has been after a dozen years working on a crime procedural TV show teeming with alpha male energy. He shares the dilemma he faced as a gay actor on a hit show at the time that celebrities began to come out of the closet in force, and how he found the freedom to live fully out and proud through his discovery of Burning Man. He shares his NCIS co-star Chris O’Donnell’s reaction to learning how important he was to some gay men’s sexual awakenings; he recounts how Burning Man brought him together with his partner of three years who is deaf; and he delves deep into his Daddy Issue with a father who is incapable of giving compliments.Barrett also tells Brian and Judson about his friendship with Kylie Minogue, the incredible work of Every Day Action, the nonprofit of which he’s a founding member and board VP, and he helps respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener whose fiance has just passed away and its looking for guidance on grieving. Judson attends his 25-year high school reunion. Brian begins his attempts to schedule “hotwifing” sessions with two of his favorite hookup partners, one session where he would watch his husband with another man, and one where his husband would watch him. The hookup of the week finds a listener and his partner enjoying some of the best kept secrets one port has to offer while on a family cruise. Brian and Judson are then joined by Andrew Abel, founder and creative director of Gay Tired Hopeful, which "explores the patterns shaping modern queer life, from identity and intimacy to culture, work, and belonging, and the things we’re all quietly trying to figure out." Andrew describes how his professional and personal lives converged to drive him to create Gay Tired Hopeful, shares how his social media post questioning why gay men always act like there’s someone better drove its current popularity, and delves into why ‘Tired’ is an important part of the platform’s name. He also talks about cruising in forests, being raised without rules, and identifying as polyamorous while married to someone who may not be. In closing, Andrew joins Brian and Judson in responding to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who is new to topping and has much he’s curious about, particularly when it comes to living up to bottoms’ standards at his regular batthouse. Judson returns from Provincetown with a number of recommendations, not the least of which is his new favorite category of sexual gathering–a bate party. Brian revels in a few kid-free weeks while both of his are off at sleepaway camp and he’s able to make hookups happen when he typically couldn’t. The Hookup of the Week finds a listener discovering to his surprise that twenty-minute hookups–as Brian and Judson have often described–can be fun, hot, fulfilling and not at all rude to the other person. The two are then joined by much-requested repeat hookup, Dr. Evan Goldstein! The leading anal health expert in the United States, founder of Future Method and one of the few surgeons in the world whose practice, Bespoke Surgical, is dedicated to treating and restoring the human butt is back on Dads and Daddies to answer a number of questions submitted by listeners since his previous appearance nine months ago. Before that, he recounts his personal journey, from his Staten Island childhood in the 70s and 80s, to his surgery residency where he met, fell in love with and married a woman, to meeting his now husband in an online chat room, to his becoming a reluctant parent to twin baby boys, to his close friendship with Martha Stewart. He also talks about turning 50, where his head is about that, and enjoying his Daddy era. He then responds to a number of questions submitted by listeners since his last visit to the show, on topics ranging from douching to STIs to internal scarring as a result of assault to depth play. Judson mourns the death and celebrates the life of his father-in-law. Inspired by one of his husband’s hookups, Brian attempts a night of kink at home and stirs up much more drama than intended. The Hookup of the Week finds our listener arriving at the airport and running into his year-long Grindr crush, who then becomes quite the hands-on tour guide for the trip that follows. Brian and Judson are then joined by co-author of Dads and Daddies Book Club selection, Kink for Dummies , Jack Harrison-Quintana. Jack tells Brian and Judson how he first met and became close with his co-author Jaime M. Grant, and how the two came to write a book about kink for Wiley, publisher of the entire slate of For Dummies books. Jack shares his early kink origins on both personal and professional planes, he asks Judson about his history with kink and drugs, and discusses whether or not Brian’s affinity for group and public sex makes him a kinkster. Jack also explores whether or not kinks can exist without personal shame or judgement of the community at large, how the tenets of the kink community should be guiding principles for all of humanity, how couples can communicate about uneven kink desires, how not all kinks appear sexual, removing shame from the need for erectile dysfunction medication, and so much more. Jack then helps Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener in a newly opened relationship who wants help finding sex parties, but also has concerns about safety and comfort with other attendees’ behavior. Judson befriends the other two gay guys at his office, and triggers Brian’s memories of discovering gay colleagues at work. The Hookup of the Week finds a listener having a hot hookup with someone he didn’t think was interested in him. Brian and Judson then host their first podcast orgy of sorts with three repeat hookups at once! Adult entertainment stars Jonah Wheeler, Joel Someone and Daddy Kylex return to the basement to talk about all things pornography– their friendships, their working relationships and how they help one another navigate the industry. Joel and Kylex talk about what it’s like to be actual neighbors, and how it makes for some spontaneous content shoots. Kylex and Jonah talk about sharing partners, leading to unintentional continuity and Easter Eggs between their videos. Joel shares the story about how he brought Jonah into the business via a miscommunication that turned out to be a happy accident and grew into a proper mentorship. The three explain why the videos they make together are some of their favorite content, how romance, intimacy and even the L word figure into their sexual encounters, and share new Daddy Issues--two with app behavior, and one with the loss of vulnerability after taking on the Daddy role for so long. To close, the three help Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who wants to learn how to love his own body. Judson approaches his work anniversary feeling great as an office Daddy. Brian tests out Grindr’s new AI features. The Hookup of the Week finds our listener helping a straight-curious-identifying partner through what turns out to be some therapeutic exploration. The two are then joined by comedian, actor, podcaster, musician, television writer and author of the new book, The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Gay , Eliot Glazer! Known to many for his performance as Eliot, brother to Ilana on the beloved TV series Broad City (and in real life), Eliot talks about how often he feels he’s a disaster as a gay man, and how his book is meant to provide others feeling the same way both belly laughs and the comfort that they’re far from alone. He talks about how he copes with his anxiety as he searches for the perfect sex party, how he measures one’s gay age, his belief that his future husband exists in the midwest, the failings of gay sports leagues, his close relationship with his famous sister, and how the book provided the opportunity to separate himself from her and establish his own voice. He also tells Brian and Judson about the connection he made with a Gen Z hottie through their generational differences, and helps them respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who is more newly out than his partner and wants to open their relationship so he can continue his sexual exploration, but doesn’t know that he will feel comfortable with his partner hooking up with other people. Judson learns how to sleep in with coaching from his husband. Brian starts to feel a more distinct separation between himself and his straight friends. The two discover a kinship with the late Joel Schumacher, director of films including The Lost Boys , Batman Forever and Batman and Robin . The Hookup of the Week is so hot it almost blows the roof off of Brian’s basement and finds the listener living out many of Brian’s and Judson’s fantasies rolled into one. Before the break, Brian reveals the next Dads and Daddies Book Club selection, Kink for Dummies by Jaime M. Grant and future podcast guest, Jack Harrison-Quintana. The two are overjoyed to then welcome back to the studio, Dads and Daddies ’ very own Dr. Daddy, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, Chief Medical Officer at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York City, a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare both locally and nationally. Dr Demetre brings Brian and Judson up to speed on the developments in his life and career in the eight months since his prior appearance on the podcast, including a move from Atlanta to NYC, and taking on Callen-Lorde's medical leadership. He teaches Brian and Judson about syndemics (synergistic epidemics), what they mean for the queer community, and the initiative he introduced at Callen-Lorde to help LGBTQ+ people live their full lives in the safest ways possible. He also explains PrEP on demand, injectable PrEP, and the relationship between Undetectable and Untransmittable. He talks about Big Pharma and the queer community, and the less obvious reasons we need to make universal healthcare a reality in the United States. He also talks about his philosophy that self-care as LGBTQ+ people is the highest form of rebellion, and describes what self-care looks like for him, personally. Judson attends his third annual trip to Austin Naked Yoga where he facilitates a “Dial Into Daddy” workshop. The Hookup of the Week comes from a listener who shares a hot session with his boyfriend who wants to try out techniques from classes he’s taken at MMX, the private wellness club for men. The two are then joined by Judson’s dear friend, star of Netflix’s “Owning Manhattan,” and the founder of Queerity — the world’s first sober LGBTQ+ social and lifestyle app — Jordan Hurt. Jordan takes them through his journey from his childhood as a self-described “punk rock kid from the gutter,” to his move to New York with little money and no prospects, to his time as a sex worker, to his incredible success as a real estate broker under the guidance of famed realtor Ryan Serhant. He goes into great detail about his sobriety journey, including his rock-bottom moment that played out in front of the cameras for the hit reality show he was a cast member on. He then tells them all about Queerity–how he came to develop it, and the ways in which sober people can use it to find friends, romance, sex, events and safe destinations. He also shares his renewed views on dating, romance and what the future may hold for his personal life. Judson learns he’s a fashion inspiration for one of Brian’s daughters. Brian is witness to a past hookup of his flirting heavily with his husband, Toby. Judson seeks out and finds some much needed inspiration at work. A different sort of Hookup of the Week shared by a listener who took inspiration from the podcast to let go of past shame stirs deep emotions and moments of reflection for both Brian and Judson. The two are then joined by the founder and CEO of the Daddyhunt app, Carl Sandler. Carl shares how Daddyhunt first came to be over twenty years ago and how it has evolved with the PrEP generation as the gay community has become more open to Daddies and to open relationships. He tells the story behind the Daddyhunt serial that became a viral sensation ten years ago, and talks about its upcoming re-release this year in 4K for a post-Heated Rivalry world. Carl helps Brian and Judson think about how gay men can and should behave better towards one another, explains what he as a Daddy gets from the younger men he surrounds himself with, discusses how Daddiness at its core is about giving back and what that looks like, delves deep into the importance and benefits of gay friendships, and he issues a life-and-death warning to all sons. Judson celebrates the Knicks’ victory from afar, while Brian is largely oblivious to it during a hookup that takes place outside his usual area of operations and timeframe. Judson recounts his sexy week and educates Brian on what it means to participate in Daddy-Daddy play. The Hookup of the Week comes from a listener who finds a great hookup on The Blowers while traveling, proving that it is better to give than to receive. The two are then joined by podcaster and documentarian Jess Rothschild, creator and executive producer of the GLAAD Award-nominated docu-series Finding Fire Island , now in its second season—with many episodes featuring Judson! Jess tells Brian and Judson how she came to fall in love with Fire Island, why she felt it was important to document its deep history, and asks each host to share their Fire Island origin stories. She also shares her views on 12-step programs, explains how she is attracted to women but prefers the company of gay men, and discusses the differences in how lesbians and gay men approach sex and openness. Finally, Jess helps Brian and Judson respond to a "Go Ask Your Dad" question from a listener who has found a spark with someone online but is unsure whether or not he should remind this person that they interacted years earlier—and that it ended on a sour note. Judson returns from a couples therapy session with a new understanding of how keeping certain thoughts and feelings to himself is affecting his husband, which spawns a conversation with Brian about how they care for their long-term relationships and friendships. A Blowers hookup teaches Brian a lesson about pushing himself outside his comfort zone and helps him realize he may have a talent for being verbal in the bedroom. The Hookup of the Week finds our listener meeting someone in a spa while on vacation, and learning how intimate a connection can be when forced to communicate without words. Brian and Judson are then joined by the w riter and performer Michael Musto called “Oscar Wilde meets Whoopi Goldberg,” Justin Elizabeth Sayre. Justin tells Brian and Judson about their new solo show they’re bringing to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, Justin Elizabeth Sayre is a 40 Year-Old Woman , how it was inspired by having to learn how to age as a queer person without role models to follow, and about the origins of their beloved Night of a Thousand Judys – an annual benefit for the Ali Forney Center, the nation's largest non-profit providing shelter and healthcare services to LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness in New York City . Justin also talks about their journey to accepting their queerness, the on-and-off courtship via text and DM of their now wife, being a non-binary person married to a trans woman, and how the last presidential election forced them to expedite their wedding in the United States, before moving out of the country out of concern for their wife’s safety. Justin’s Daddy Issue sparks a debate about how to present oneself on the apps. An actress, singer, and comedian who rose to international fame on Season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race and has become one of the most prominent voices in the fight for trans inclusion everywhere, Peppermint talks about the current barriers keeping trans people from living happy and healthy lives, why fighting for civil rights is a core part of her being, why she chose to audition for RuPaul's Drag Race , why her season wasn't appreciated at the time, the divisive Drag Race queen she admits is one of her favorites to tour with, and the extreme expense of drag competitions. She also details how she was required to audition for the role based on - and named for - her on Netflix's Survival of the Thickest , how she finds confidence through gratitude, her relationship with dating, what dating is like for trans women, and so much more. To close, Peppermint joins Brian and Judson in responding to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who joined a gay sports league in an effort to make friends, only to find his team unwelcoming and uninterested in camaraderie. He wants to know whether there is any hope of finding gay fellowship or whether he should prepare for a future full of impenetrable cliques. Judson prepares to babysit Brian’s kids. Brian realizes he’s now the top at home. The hookup of the week comes all the way from Down Under and features water sports enjoyed with friends both known and previously unknown. The two are then joined by founder and CEO of the iconic Nasty Pig fashion brand, David Lauterstein. David shares the concerns that are top of mind for him this Pride Month, expressing dismay about those within the queer community who police how out, proud, and loud LGBTQ+ folx express their visibility. He also shares his thoughts on Nasty Pig’s nomination in Las Culturistas’ Culture Awards this year and on the uproarious debate on Gay Twitter this past March about the appropriateness of wearing Nasty Pig to nice restaurants. He divulges exciting news for the company and updates Brian and Judson on what’s next for his 2024 memoir, Sodomy Gods . He also gets personal in revealing how his 33-year marriage works, what he’s learned through maintaining a relationship for so many years, and celebrates the queer community for making and living by its own rules. David gives a pep talk to his “fellow Daddy bottoms” who are feeling more invisible as they age, encouraging them to realize that there is a robust market for them. To end, David joins Brian and Judson in responding to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who wants advice on inviting a friend he and his husband have been crushing on into the bedroom with them. Judson celebrates one of his top five gay experiences ever in New York City: previous Dads and Daddies guest DJ James Anthony’s afternoon dance party, Unspeakable Joy . Brian considers his week to be quintessential Dads and Daddies , after it turns out to be heavy on both parenting and sexcapades. The Hookup of the Week finds a listener lovingly recounting his first sexual experience with a trans man. Brian and Judson are then joined by Elliot Tuttle, writer and director of Blue Film , available on VOD Friday, June 12 . Elliot talks about the various responses he has received to his universally lauded film about a night shared between a camboy and a pederast, and how the story came to him. Judson is inspired by Elliot to reflect on his own past relationships with older men when he was in middle and high school. Elliot also tells Brian and Judson about his path from child movie critic to filmmaker, and explains his belief that the current emphasis on “queer joy” is ruining the taste of gay people. Finally, he goes deep into his favorite topic—dating—and particularly how he’s found his way to having so much fun with it. The episode ends with a Go Ask Your Dad question from a Daddy in a college town who is having trouble finding men his own age, and inadvertently ends up becoming a father figure to the younger men he dates. Judson and Brian celebrate the second anniversary of the podcast, the launch of Season Three, and the start of Pride Month! Judson spots two gay people at his new place of work and strategizes to befriend them both. Brian provides two theatre recommendations for Pride Month. Judson struggles with sleep issues. Brian shares an Instagram post sent his way that examines the question “Why are gay men so divided on open relationships?” The Hookup of the Week comes from a listener who gets to prove his versatility when a hot connection made while traveling spices up his vacation more than once during his stay. Brian and Judson then begin their Go Ask Your Dad Extravaganza answering five diverse listener questions. They first tackle one about open relationship rules, particularly around repeat hookups; the second asks each to describe their self-care routines; the third wants to know the etiquette around finding people on social media after meeting them at a sex party; the fourth is from a listener who is having trouble with his fiancé’s desire to open the relationship; and the fifth and final question comes from a listener in an open marriage whose Bipolar II disorder makes his libido unpredictable and wants help balancing saving his sexual energy for his husband with allowing himself freedom to have hookups. Judson and Brian lead opposite lives for a weekend, when Judson attends a Broadway musical Brian hasn’t seen, and Brian has sex twice. The Hookup of the Week finds a listener reuniting with a hookup from a year prior and learning how their original encounter changed the hookup’s life. The two are then joined by recording artist, DJ, and performance legend whose influence has shaped generations of LGBTQ nightlife, dance music, and drag performance, Kevin Aviance! Kevin talks about how he reset his life after surviving a brutal hate crime in 2006 that shocked the LGBTQ community, how the pandemic gave rise to his DJing career, and how Beyoncé sampling his hit song “Cunty” on her Renaissance album completed his return to icon status. He also talks about the pressures of being labeled iconic, the origins of his latest album, HIPPOPOTAMUS! , his views on sex and hookup culture, his friendship with queens Honey Davenport and Sapphira Cristál and how they helped him understand what it means to be Black and queer in today’s world, his history with the ballroom scene and his reaction to its omnipresence within mainstream pop culture, why he loves aging, and his concern that the younger generation of queer people have lost a sense of history and the ability to learn through experience. Kevin then helps Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a trans man who wants help building confidence to help him in finding friends and making hookups happen. Judson finds himself enjoying a highly-elevated season of self-pleasure due to the improving weather, amongst other reasons. Brian brings a text conversation with Judson to the podcast and the two discuss Judson’s concerns that Brian may be trying to exploit a loophole in the rules of his open marriage. Brian shares an update about a website that provides an important service to him and the podcast’s listeners. The Hookup of the Week comes from a bisexual listener who is happily surprised to make a hot and authentic connection with another bisexual man on the apps. Brian and Judson are then joined by bisexual sex columnist, author of Boyslut: A Memoir and Manifesto , editor-in-chief of the Boyslut zine, and host of the Bi Babes Book Club on Allstora, Zachary Zane! Zachary covers the gamut of sexual topics, from his struggle to overcome his fraysexuality, to discovering the magic of anal stimulation, to switching from top to bottom and Daddy to Son even within the same session, to what he means by “Bisexual Audibility.” He also talks about formerly relying on drugs and alcohol to lower inhibitions enough to have certain types of sexual encounters, and how to get to the same level of comfort without them; the effects of being raised by a rageaholic; what straight people don’t understand about Grindr; readers who assume he will sleep with them; how long it truly takes to have sex; and he answers questions from some Dads and Daddies book clubbers. Zachary then helps Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who can only finish when bottoming but finds himself topping due to what he describes as a top shortage. Brian reports on a hookup that was lightning quick to plan, but double the usual time to execute. Judson enjoys what he rates as one of his top ten hookups ever. The Hookup of the Week discovers Facebook’s utility as a hookup app. The two are then joined by personal finance educator and advocate Nick Wolny. Nick, the finance columnist for Out Magazine and author of the book Money Proud: The Queer Guide to Generate Wealth, Slay Debt and Build Good Habits to Secure Your Future , helps Brian and Judson understand how and why queer people approach money in our own way. He delves into how we develop our thought patterns around money and how we can set ourselves up for our futures while living fabulous queer lives in the present. He shares how he crafted his book to educate those of us who don’t have money left over at the end of the month about how to get to a place where we do, and to then maintain it so we can live the way we deserve in the moment. Brian, Judson and Nick also examine broadening the definition of wealth, debate whether or not poppers are an essential expense, Nick shares his Daddy Issue about his realization he’s becoming his parents, and he responds to listener-submitted questions. The episode ends with the three responding to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who is excited to attend the Folsom Street Fair for his first time, and wants to ensure that he and his husband are preparing for it properly. Judson unlocks a new marital kink. Brian provides an update on his solo afternoon at the hotel where the two recorded the previous episode. Judson sees Cats: The Jellicle Ball for his first time. Brian undergoes cataract surgery. The Hookup of the Week tells the story of a non-binary femme listener who meets someone on the apps and Daddies him until it’s time for the roles to reverse. Brian and Judson are then joined by Rich Burns, writer, creator and star of the Humanitas Prize-winning comedic digital series “The Disappointments.” The show’s second season is out now and follows three gay friends in their 60s who are single, broke and desperately trying to turn their disappointing lives around . Rich shares how the series came out of the realization that a number of his friends found themselves in their 50s with their dreams unfulfilled, talks about the disparate reactions to the show from different generations of gay viewers, and dispels certain myths about the differences between himself and Ray, the character he plays on the show. Rich also shares his thoughts on open relationships, dating younger, the presumption by most that he’s a Daddy, the success of his slutty Instagram account, how his sexual exploration derives from connection and trust, and so much more. Rich then helps Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener who is finding himself so busy that he has to schedule hookups weeks, if not months, in advance and is concerned that it’s a problem he needs help solving.
