This week on LAZYGIRL, I’m realizing that maybe I have a lot more control over my mindset than I thought. Between work being busier than ever, a trip to the US Open, upcoming concerts, resurfacing people from my past, and realizing I have absolutely no interest in dating right now… I’ve been thinking a lot about what actually deserves my energy. I also found myself looking around my apartment at the life I once dreamed about and wondering why I’m always so focused on what’s next instead of appreciating where I am. Maybe growing up is realizing you can want more without thinking that what you have isn’t enough, and that not everything (or everyone) needs your attention.
A girls' trip was supposed to be the reset, but apparently touching grass doesn’t automatically calm your nervous system. This week I’m talking about realizing I might be more anxious than I thought, what happens when you finally slow down enough to notice it, and why I probably need to actually deal with it. Plus, a little Chicago work-trip recap, meeting new people, and the surprisingly fun side of travelling for work.
I’ve packed up my life and moved overseas more than once, and somehow I keep doing it. This week I’m talking about what it actually takes to move abroad — from visas, money, and finding a job! The hardest part is just starting... I’m sharing how I did it, what I wish I knew beforehand, and why you don’t need to have your whole life figured out before you go.
In this episode, I’m telling the story of a date that went from uncomfortable to completely unhinged — and the red flags I wish I’d trusted sooner. It’s about why being independent also means trusting yourself enough to leave, stop over-explaining, and remember that you don’t need something terrible to happen before deciding something doesn’t feel right.
Why do we override our instincts and force things that aren’t working? This episode is about the difference between being too picky and simply knowing when something isn’t right for you. This episode explores why we stay in situations after they stop feeling right, how to tell the difference between self-sabotage and discernment, and why sometimes the biggest sign something isn’t for you is simply who you become when you’re in it.
Someone I trust set me up on a blind date, and I genuinely went in... semi-hopeful. Well, actually no, it was more "eh, we'll see" energy. This one's a full play-by-play — the actual date sequence, moment by moment, including every red flag I clocked in real time and the exact second the ick set in. No filter, no cleaning it up after the fact. This episode is about what happens after that specific kind of letdown. Not a disaster date, just a flat one where the vibe was never there. I get into how you spot the ick while it's happening versus after, whether "no spark" can ever turn into something later or if you know within the first ten minutes, and why getting set up by someone you trust adds a whole different layer of pressure than matching with a stranger on an app. Plus the part nobody talks about — managing the person who set you up, and what you actually tell them versus what you keep to yourself. If you've ever sat across from someone thinking "you're lovely, I have nothing to say to you," this one's for you.
I got along with a guy, met his friends, did the whole group thing — then two months later he just disappeared. No fight, no explanation, nothing. So I'm asking: is silence really kinder than the truth, or are we all just too scared to say it to someone's face?
Every two weeks, I seem to hit the same wall: I stop sleeping properly, abandon my routines, retreat from everyone, and convince myself I’m somehow not doing enough—even though I’ve been doing far too much. In this episode, I’m breaking down the cycle I’ve finally started paying attention to: the pressure to stay productive, my inability to say no, the moment “I’m fine” turns into “I’m freaking out,” and what happens when everything catches up with me.
Season 3 is here, and I've grown up — sort of. In the first episode back, I catch you up on what happened while I was gone for nearly 2 years: the life changes, the lessons, the heartbreaks, the healing, and the quiet reinvention that happens when everything you thought you wanted starts to shift. This is a reset episode for the girls navigating their thirties, starting over, questioning everything, dating again, chasing bigger dreams, and trying to become the woman they always said they would be. Real talk. Relationships. Reinvention. Welcome back to LAZYGIRL Podcast,
