Okay guys, it's time we put the Michigan game in the past. With New Mexico coming to Norman on Saturday, the Sooners better be ready for a punch. With Trell Harris and multiple others dealing with some injuries, somebody needs to step up. Can Mackenzie Alleyne produce even more than what we saw in Ann Arbor? Can the offensive line hold on until Michael Fasusi returns? How does the defense clean up some of the sloppiness we saw against the Wolverines? On3's Ari Wasserman joins us to talk all things OU, and whether or not this team can still meet high expectations. All that and more on this edition of the Gameday Preview. *For a limited time, our listeners get 50% off FOR LIFE, Free Shipping, AND 3 Free Gifts at Mars Men at Mengotomars.com.*We are excited to have Homefield as our official, exclusive apparel sponsor all season long. On this week's Gameday Preview, we talk with AL.com's Nick Kelly about the perception around the Alabama program coming into Norman for the first round of the College Football Playoff. Did Alabama just play a terrible game at home against Oklahoma? Are they just coming to Norman to assert their dominance and win by not turning the ball over so much? And what about the special teams in this one? The Sooners dominated that phase of the game in Tuscaloosa. And the defense has been turning teams over on a regular basis since the Tennessee game. Why would they stop now. You'll hear from Brent Venables and Ben Arbuckle break down the matchup with the Crimson Tide and we hear about OU's faith in John Mateer when it matters most. This offensive line has been doing more than getting by even though they are starting two true freshmen. It's our final breakdown of the matchup we're all ready to see Friday night on Owen Field. This week, we talk with The Advocate's Wilson Alexander to get his take on what version of LSU is headed to Norman this weekend. Will they be more focused on their next head coach? Could Lane Kiffin be their coach by kickoff on Saturday? And what's gone wrong and is going wrong with this team right now. On Oklahoma's side, it's senior night for a lot of players who have helped Brent Venables turn this defense into one of the best in recent memory. Kendal Daniels is already emotional about it. Much like Damonic Williams, Gracen Halton and others, this group of seniors has made the defense dominant once again. Get Brent Venables and Ben Arbuckles' takes on LSU and hear the head coach's appreciation for what Team 131 has done for this program moving forward. Learn more about your ad choices. This week we chatted with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Eli Hoff about a dangerous team coming to Norman. Missouri has one of the best defenses in the SEC and an offense that will be unique to the Sooners. Running back Ahmad Hardy is a weapon. Hoff gives us a look inside Missouri's approach. The injury report was pretty clean on Wednesday night. But the Sooners have to decide whether to play R Mason Thomas or let him get healthy and allow some youngsters like Danny Okoye to help provide key depth. Kobie McKinzie talks about the challenges of facing Hardy while everyone is still talking about getting this offense on track and making the OU football team more complete behind John Mateer. As Oklahoma gets set to take on Alabama, we get the goods on the Crimson Tide from AL.com's Nick Kelly who joins the show to help us preview the matchup. You'll also hear from Brent Venables and various players on facing the talented Ty Simpson. Ben Arbuckle also talks about facing the Alabama defense while we take a closer look at potential X-factors Kaden Helms and David Stone. A jam-packed preview show coming at you now! OU heads to Tennessee for a special "Dark Mode" night game. It's special because both teams and both fan bases are on the edge. On the edge of the playoff conversation, on the edge of sinking, on the edge of swimming. OU's offense faces a team that hasn't played a lot of defense. Josh Heupel's offense is humming and OU's defense is coming off their toughest outing of the year against Ole Miss. Can John Mateer get the offense out of a funk. And can he get himself out of one as well. It will be a wild atmosphere. It's the centerpiece of ESPN/ABCs national coverage Saturday night. Brent Hubbs from VolQuest joins us to break things down from The Volunteers' side of things. And we bring you the latest inside practice from the offense and the defense. Punches are going to be thrown. Who will respond the best when they get knocked down? It's OU-UT in Knoxville. And it's another Gameday Preview! Learn more about your ad choices. Well, since the Unofficial 40 wrapped, news broke that starting tackle Derek Simmons suffered a concussion in practice and was not expected to play against Ole Miss. So we start out the day with the injury report. Without Simmons, what happens to the offensive line? One answer is in the defense. But as good as they've been, this will be the best offense they have faced so far this season. We talk with the Clarion Ledger's Sam Hutchens, who is well known in these parts as a former Oklahoma State beat writer along with his twin brother Ben. Now he's in Mississippi covering Ole Miss and we caught up with him to preview the Rebels on this week's Gameday Preview. Get the info you need on Ole Miss and Oklahoma's matchup on this episode. This week we welcome South Carolina beat writer Wes Mitchell to the show from our GamecockCentral.com On3 site. South Carolina has had a disappointing season up to this point and the Sooners will face a banged up offensive line with a recently fired OL coach. Will the Sooners step back up on defense after showing tackling issues for the first time all season against Texas? We'll hear from Brent Venables and Ben Arbuckle on the need for the Sooners to figure out how to win one possession games down the stretch of this season. Otherwise, that SEC schedule ahead of them is going to be rough. One player who we felt needed a shout out this week is Taylor Wein, who is putting together a really nice season on defense. The first injury report is out for OU-Texas and John Mateer is listed as questionable. Eddie and George breakdown what that means and where things head next. But players are used to this being a war regardless of who starts under center for the Sooners. Kobie McKinzie and Jaren Kanak talk about the uniqueness of this rivalry and what it's like to deal with such huge momentum swings during the Red River Rivalry. Javonnie Gibson has his first taste of the rivalry and everyone is wondering if he can step up and make an impact. The same can be said about Eli Bowen, who returned to action last week, but has been in this game and played well before. It's the biggest game of the year and maybe the biggest of the Brent Venables era considering where this team is sitting and where it has come from. It's OU-Texas. Gameday Preview. It's Kent State coming off a bye week. What a great time to reboot this season as Michael Hawkins Jr. gets the start for the injured John Mateer. While there has been much more talk about Dr. Shin this week than Kent, we're still looking ahead to the game this Saturday and a chance for Hawkins to impress. We're also catching up with On3's Andy Staples who was just in town for the Auburn game. Where does OU sit in the SEC in his eyes? And how good is OU's defense in his opinion? Brent Venables and Ben Arbuckle both share fond memories of Barry Switzer's dominant teams like the National Champion team of 1985 who will be celebrated this weekend in Norman. Lots of coverage on the team's approach getting back on the gridiron in this Gameday Preview. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A couple of big dominos would have to fall for the Sooners to reach the Big 12 Championship game. But this isn't a team coming into their regular season finale without anything to play for. There is an amazing amount of dislike between these programs and fanbases. It's been on full display this week on social media. Trace Ford even stoked the fires today. Mike Gundy and Bosworth went after it. But all that matters is if OU football can stop Ollie Gordon and if the offense can get aggressive. It's time for Bedlam. Eddie and George catch up with Pistols Firing's Marshall Scott for a full breakdown of the OSU Cowboys. We hear from players and coaches about being more aggressive on offense and stopping Ollie Gordon on defense. Trace Ford also made waves on local morning radio by giving his candid thoughts on Mike Gundy and the way things went down when he left OSU. Learn more about your ad choices.
