Darren Jackson is most well know for being an expert fly angler targeting mullet and bass. However his recent boat purchase coinciding with the appearance of Bonito on his local coastline in the Bristol channel has given him an angling summer to remember. Darren also talks about his recent trip to Nova Scotia where he targeted huge striped bass on the fly. Darren gives valuable advice on targeting mullet and bass on the fly and talks about some of his favourite patterns. In this episode of the Lure Fishing Podcast I talk with Captain Coral Rose Aiello who became first mate on her fathers charter boat ''the Coral Rose'' at 14. After more than a decade or more of hard work and dedication. In 2023 she assumed captain’s duties on the Coral Rose, with first mate and Dad Joe at her side! She holds her USCG 100 Ton Masters License and serves on the RI Marine Fisheries Council representing the recreational fishing category. Coral talks about the Striped bass fishing, Tautog and fluke fishing, and daily life a a charter boat skipper. Coral is an inspiration with her enthusiam, knowledge and her willingness to help and educate others. Coral is a real asset in the charter service and I don’t like to leave the dock without her. She’s a true comrade.”

In this episode of the lure fishing podacst I chat with West Palm Beach, FL native Emily Rose Hanzlik. 20 year old Emily has been fishing since she was big enough to hold a fishing rod and has already caught a staggerring 300 different species. Emily has been targeting IGFA World records with her father since she was 12 years old. She currently holds over 70 IGFA World records for species such as Peacock bass, Blacktip Shark, Grass carp and many many others. Emily also works with organizations that teach kids how to fish. Also currently studying to be a Marine Biologist, Emilys passion and knowledge for all things angling and helping others to get into the sport is obvious . In this podcast Emilys shares some of her vast knowledge in relation to landing big fish on light line and much more. A wonderful chat and a fantastic natural role model for all anglers.

His boat “Sea Hawk” is the first boat in Ireland to be licensed for saltwater fly fishing. Richie shares some of his vast knowledge on how to target species such as Bass, sea trout, pollack, mullet, mackerel, garfish etc all on the fly. His knowlege is unbeliveable and he presents it in a way that is so easy to break down and understand I rellay enjoyed this one and cant wait to listen back to it myself. Its packed with top advice and tactics from a real master angler. Thom is currently working in marketing at Westin and gives a great insight into the tackle industry. This is an episode that you will be playing over and over again.

In this episode of the Lure Fishing Podcast I chat with Ash Barwick creator of the Tight Lines App. This a new dedicated App for Irish and UK anglers to log catches and marks. I have started using the app myself recently and I am really enjoying it. It is very user friendly and amount of data generated from it is really interesting and usefull. Andy's knowledge of so many aspects of lure fishing is second to none and he is a fantastic friendly guy.
