  1. How to Stop Panicking About Food and Your Body While Travelling

    Sep 16, 202652 min

You spend weeks looking forward to a trip. And then the second you get there, your brain is consumed with thoughts about food and your body. Constant math about what you've eaten. Dreading the next time you have to put on a bathing suit. Feeling like you're watching your own vacation instead of actually being in it. And this specific kind of shame that comes from knowing you should be relaxed right now, and being completely unable to get there. This episode is about why that happens, and what's actually going on underneath it. We cover why travel makes the food and body anxiety so much louder, why it's not actually about the trip (travel removes the tools you've been using to manage something that was always underneath), the "and then what?" exercise for tracing the fear all the way to its actual root, and what to do with it instead of pushing it down or white-knuckling through. 🔗 LINKS → JOIN FOOD FREEDOM ACADEMY 💻 Decode Your Food Noise Mini-Course 📲 Instagram → @sabrina.magnan.health 💌 Free Newsletter DISCLAIMER: Live Unrestricted and all content shared by Sabrina are for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. 2. The Best (Realistic) Advice On Eating Healthy Without Restricting or Driving Yourself Crazy

    Sep 9, 202645 min

Eating healthy feels SO much harder than it needs to be. In the current age of health and wellness culture, you’re being set up to fail. Too many conflicting opinions, too many rules, confusion, overwhelm… and underneath all of it, a nervous system that's been in survival mode around food for so long that even the word "healthy" can feel like a threat. In this episode, I break down the five most common mistakes that make healthy eating feel impossible. You’ll also know how to simplify it, strip it down to the things that will have the biggest impact and make healthy eating actually easy. This episode is for anyone who keeps trying to eat better and keeps feeling like they're failing. 3. The 5-Minute Practice That Changes Everything When You're About to Eat Your Feelings

    Sep 2, 202626 min

You’re becoming aware that you turn to food when you’re feeling overwhelmed or feeling like you’re failing at something, as a way to distract from that discomfort. But even though you now know what’s happening, you can’t seem to stop. That gap between knowing and being able to actually do something different isn't a willpower problem. It has everything to do with your nervous system. In this episode, I answer a real question from a member inside Food Freedom Academy: she's aware she reaches for food when she's overwhelmed and feeling like she's failing at work, but knowing it isn't stopping it. We go into what fight or flight actually does to your brain, why the part of you that emotionally eats thinks it's protecting you, and a four-step practice you can use before you reach for food that doesn't involve taking food off the table. Plus why breathwork and walking aren't arbitrary advice, and what they're actually doing in your nervous system. The goal isn't to never emotionally eat again starting today. It's to build the capacity to be with hard emotions so food doesn't have to do that job alone anymore. One minute at a time. 4. 30 Lessons I Learned Before 30 (I turn 30 Today!)

    Aug 26, 202649 min

Today is my 30th birthday. Ahhh!!! And after a month away from the podcast, which hasn't happened since I started it, this felt like the right episode to come back with. My 20s were challenging and beautiful and full. Living in Italy, living in France, the pandemic, building a business, falling in love, moving between friend groups, failing A LOT growing A LOT. I am SO proud of my 20s. And I am even more excited for what comes next. In this episode, I'm sharing 30 things I figured out before 30. Some are big life lessons, some are embarrassingly simple, and a few go deep into the stuff I talk about every week: nervous systems, healing patterns, why you can't think your way into change, and why your relationship with food and your body might just be your Mount Everest and what to do about it. This one is a good one to listen to on a walk. Bring a journal if you want to. And if something lands, come tell me over on Instagram. 5. The "Wellness Trap" : How To Avoid The Dark Side of Wellness Culture w/ Christy Harrison, RD

    Aug 19, 202654 min

Have you ever found yourself spiraling down the "wellness" rabbit hole? One week you’re told your bloating is from gluten. The next it’s dairy. Then suddenly you’re on your 5th elimination diet, $300 deep in supplements, and still feeling exhausted, anxious, and confused. I know that trap because I lived it. And so did my guest today - Christy Harrison . Christy is a registered dietitian, journalist, host of Rethinking Wellness , and author of the books Anti-Diet and The Wellness Trap . She has spent years pulling back the curtain on how wellness culture often isn’t the solution, it’s just diet culture with green juice and lab tests. In this episode, Christy and I get real about: ✨ The sneaky overlap between diet culture and wellness culture (and how both make you feel like you’re the problem) ✨ The “care effect” & why just being heard can make you feel better, even when the treatment itself doesn’t work ✨ Common wellness buzzwords (root cause, adrenal fatigue, candida) and what they actually mean ✨ Why we fall for restrictive diets & wellness protocols even when they make us sicker ✨ How to tell if your pursuit of “healing” is quietly stealing your joy, money, and freedom ✨ The difference between wellness and true well-being - and how to move toward the latter This isn’t about shaming anyone who’s tried alternative medicine, elimination diets, or supplements. It’s about giving you the clarity, context, and compassion you need to protect yourself from getting stuck in another endless cycle of “fixing.” Christy’s work has helped thousands of people untangle from both diet culture and wellness culture , and after this conversation, you’ll have a new lens for spotting when health advice is helping… or harming. 📚 Resources Mentioned: Substack: https://rethinkingwellness.substack.com/ Website: christyharrison.com Book | Anti-Diet: ChristyharrisonAnti-Diet Book Book | The Wellness Trap: ChristyharrisonThe Wellness Trap Book 🔗 LINKS → JOIN FOOD FREEDOM ACADEMY 💻 Decode Your Food Noise Mini-Course 📲 Instagram → @sabrina.magnan.health 💌 Free Newsletter DISCLAIMER: Live Unrestricted and all content shared by Sabrina are for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. Aug 5, 202625 min

You want to change. You say you're ready for freedom. But… part of you is still clinging to the struggle. In this powerful Part 2 of my conversation with mindset expert Danya Douglas Hunt, we unpack something most people don’t talk about: The hidden comfort that can live inside patterns we say we want to change- especially when it comes to food, money, and control. Together we explore: The subconscious benefits of staying stuck (yes, they exist) Why you might be eating “healthy” from fear instead of freedom How to do a quick “pulse check” to see if your choices are rooted in lack or abundance The real reason some habits are so hard to let go of—even when they’re hurting you How to gently challenge your beliefs so your actions align with who you’re becoming Ready finally let go of the struggle? 8. Is Fear Is Running Your Life (Without Even Realizing It)? w/ Danya Douglas Hunt (Part 1)

    Jul 29, 202641 min

You might think it’s just overthinking. Procrastination. Perfectionism. Burnout. But underneath it all? Fear is calling the shots, and you probably don’t even realize it. In this raw, honest, and mind-expanding conversation, I’m joined by the incredible Danya Douglas Hunt, a former Olympic Athletic Therapist turned powerhouse mindset coach for high performers. Danya blends neuroscience, quantum physics, and subconscious reprogramming in a way that’s equal parts grounded and expansive. Together, we dive into: The sneaky ways fear shows up in everyday life (and business) Why you’re not lazy, broken, or behind—you’re just stuck in survival mode How your definitions and internal belief systems are shaping your reality The ABC Method: a simple yet powerful reframe to shift how you experience hard things What it actually takes to change your patterns (without shaming yourself into action) Whether you're feeling stuck repeating old food patterns, or just navigating a season of uncertainty - you’ll walk away from this episode feeling deeply seen and wildly empowered. 9. How To Stop Hating Your Body

    Jul 22, 202626 min

Affirmations aren't going to fix the fact that you haven’t felt safe or comfortable in your body for decades. Neither is journaling. And neither will knowing, intellectually, that your body is the least interesting thing about you. Because body hatred doesn't live as a thought. It lives in your nervous system. It's a survival program, wired in at some point that linked your size, your weight, your appearance, to your safety. And you cannot think your way out of a program that lives in your body. In this episode, I'm breaking down why everything you've tried hasn't worked (and it's not because you didn't try hard enough), what hating your body is actually doing for your nervous system, why you can want to lose weight and still do this work, and the three-step process for rewiring body hatred at the level where it actually lives. The goal isn't to love your body. It's to stop linking worth/safety/confidence to something that will inevitably fluctuate throughout your life. 10. The Real Reason You Feel the Need to Control Everything About Food (The Nervous System Series, Ep. 5)

    Jul 15, 202629 min

You don't have a control problem. You have a nervous system that found control through food. Episode 5 of the Nervous System Series is about the real reason behind the compulsion to track, restrict, and micromanage everything around food, including my own story of moving to university at 18, my nervous system hitting DEEP dysregulation, and realizing years later that what I thought was my personality was actually a strategy. A really effective, really painful, really exhausting strategy. We go into why the brain keeps filing "control food = feel safer" even when you knowwww it's not logical, the loop where external control creates more dysregulation over time, why this bleeds into your to-do lists and your relationships and everywhere else, and what it actually means to rewire at the root rather than just get better at managing it. You've wanted to let go for a long time. This episode is about why you haven't been able to, and what actually has to change. 11. Why "Just Listen to Your Body" Isn't Working For You (The Nervous System Series, Ep.4)

    Jul 8, 202632 min

You've tried to "just listen to your body." And it either feels like silence, or static, or something comes through that feels way too scary or confusing to stay with. And then you wonder what is wrong with you, because this is supposed to be natural. Nothing is wrong with you. But there are three very specific reasons why this feels impossible, and this episode breaks all of them down. In Episode 4 of the Nervous System Series, we go into why survival mode literally turns off your body's signals, what years of overriding your hunger actually trained your brain to do, and why tuning inward can feel actively scary when your body is holding unprocessed emotions. We also cover the comfort zone, growth zone, panic zone framework, and why trying to do too much too fast always sends you straight back to where you started. Intuitive eating is the destination. But there's a step that has to come first. This episode is about that step. 12. You're Not Broken With Food, Your Nervous System Is Dysregulated. Here's How to Tell (The Nervous System Series, Ep.3)

    Jul 1, 202637 min

You are not lazy. You're not a procrastinator. You don't "just lack willpower." Your nervous system is dysregulated, and once you can recognize that, your shame will start to lift. In this episode, I walk through an audit - the physical, emotional, behavioral, and thought-pattern signs that you're living in survival mode without realizing it. Sleep that doesn't actually restore you. A harsh inner critic that gets meaner on hard days. Resting that feels more like exposure than relaxation. Racing thoughts at night, second-guessing every decision, looping on the same problem for the hundredth time. None of this is your personality. It's a nervous system that's been dysregulated for a long time, with no one ever teaching it differently. This episode is step one: learning to recognize the signs, so you can start catching them earlier instead of waiting until you completely fall apart. 13. The 4 Nervous System States Running Your Relationship With Food (The Nervous System Series, Ep. 2)

    Jun 24, 202640 min

The state of your nervous system impacts what, why and how you eat. It determines whether you can hear the signals of your body or not. It determines how you feel about yourself and your body. So it is soooo important to: 1) be able to recognize which state you’re in 2) know how to bring yourself back to a regulated and present state Roughly 70% of people in the Western world are walking around in a survival state and have NO idea. They just think it's their personality, but it's not. In episode 2 of the Nervous System Series, I’m breaking down what what each state actually feels like in your body, exactly how it shows up at the table (emotional eating, gripping control tighter, eating one way in public and a totally different way alone), and why shame and willpower were never going to fix this. 14. It's Not a Food Problem. It's a Nervous System Problem (The Nervous System Series, Ep. 1)

    Jun 17, 202648 min

Your nervous system runs your relationship with food. Not your willpower. Not even how much you WANT to change. Your nervous system - and until you understand what's actually happening in your body, no strategy is going to stick long-term. This is Episode 1 of the Nervous System Series, and it's the foundational episode: what your nervous system actually is, what it means to be chronically dysregulated, and exactly how that shows up in your relationship with food. We cover what neuroception is and why your body is making threat assessments before your brain even has a chance to weigh in. What dysregulation actually looks like (it doesn't always look like stress). Why standing at the fridge at 10pm not even hungry isn't a willpower failure. And what a healthy nervous system actually is — because it's not about being calm all the time. This episode is the "why" behind everything. Listen here first. 15. The 2026 Breakdown That Made Me Rebuild Myself and My Business

    Jun 10, 202646 min

Two and a half months ago, I had a breakdown bad enough that I had two choices: completely change how I was running my business, or quit. I chose to rebuild myself, and every facet of how I was running my business (boy was it hard). And this episode is me finally telling you what that actually looked like. For years, I had been normalizing monthly breakdowns. Curled up on the bed, crying for hours, convinced I was a failure. Luke holding me together. I thought it was just the cost of running a business. It wasn't. It was life throwing boulders at me trying to get my attention. I had received about 20 too many before I finally listened. In this episode, I'm sharing the full story: how being the "good student" without trusting myself led me to build someone else's business, what my nervous system was doing even when I knew logically I was fine, and what the rebuild has actually looked like, including a 60% income increase that happened when I stopped pushing so hard. These patterns aren't just mine. The perfectionism, the all-or-nothing, the looking outside yourself for answers while ignoring your own signals. That's exactly what's showing up in your relationship with food too. This episode is for anyone who has been running on empty and calling it discipline. 16. Why Can't I Stop Bingeing Even Though I Want To?

    Jun 3, 202638 min

You don’t need more willpower to stop bingeing. You don’t even need to want it “badly” enough. You need to uncover what the binges are DOING for you. In this episode, I sit down with a member of my community, Melissa, for a deep coaching over coffee session about binge eating, sugar cravings, and the pattern that keeps running no matter how much self-awareness she has. She knows what's happening. And it keeps happening anyway. We get into: Why you're not addicted to the food — you're addicted to the relief it gives you Why you can eat balanced all morning and completely lose it by 4pm (this one will click something into place for you) Why trying to make a different choice in the moment almost never works The rehearsal technique that rewires your autopilot BEFORE you're in the trigger What it means to teach your body that discomfort is survivable This conversation is for the woman who's tired of knowing better and still not doing better. 17. Why the Way You've Been Taught to Build Habits Isn't Working for You w/ Monica Packer

    May 27, 202647 min

How many times have you started a habit, felt good about it, and then watched it fall apart the second life got in the way? And then blamed yourself for it? My guest today has spent 20 years studying exactly WHY that happens, and her answer is going to reframe the whole thing for you. Monica Packer is a certified habits and identity coach, host of the top-rated podcast About Progress , and author of the upcoming book Sticky Habits: A Woman's Guide to Reclaim Happiness, Ditch Perfectionism, and Create Habits That Last. She's also a 20-year eating disorder recovery warrior, which made this conversation feel SO real and grounded. The big idea: the habit advice we've all been handed was built by and for people whose lives look nothing like ours. And because of invisible labor, women have less time, less energy, more interruptions, and less predictability than the system assumes. It was never going to work. In this episode, you'll learn: What the "underachieving perfectionist" actually looks like (and if you're one without knowing it) Why standard consistency advice fails women, and how to redefine it The ideal vs. baseline habit framework that makes you stop breaking habits for good How every tiny baseline action rewires your identity The one belief Monica wants every woman to walk away holding Connect With Monica Pre-order Monica's book: Sticky Habits at stickyhabitsbook.com Monica's podcast: About Progress — search it wherever you're listening right now Monica's Instagram: @aboutprogress 🔗 LINKS → JOIN FOOD FREEDOM ACADEMY 💻 Decode Your Food Noise Mini-Course 📲 Instagram → @sabrina.magnan.health 💌 Free Newsletter DISCLAIMER: Live Unrestricted and all content shared by Sabrina are for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. 18. 3 Steps to Get Rid of the "Clean Your Plate" Mentality For Good

    May 20, 202639 min

You know you’re full. Your body it’s had enough. And yet something takes over and you finish the plate anyway. That's not a willpower problem. It's a pattern that got wired into your nervous system long before you were old enough to question it, so willpower was never going to be enough to touch it. In this episode, I'm walking you through 3 specific steps to actually rewire the "clean your plate" mentality for good — not just override it occasionally, but unlearn it at the level where it actually lives. We cover: Where this pattern comes from The specific mindsets driving the behavior now, including "getting my money's worth" and the scarcity belief that shows up even when food is plentiful Why trying to change this in the moment almost never works, and what to do instead How to rehearse your way out of old patterns before you're in them Including the mindset shift that makes a big difference: your body is not a garbage can. This pattern can be unlearned. Even if it's been with you for decades. 19. Why Part Of You Doesn't Actually Want Food Freedom

    May 13, 202645 min

You can want something with your WHOLE heart and still have a part of you working against it. I got back from my Sedona retreat a couple of days ago and I have been DYING to record this episode. Because what came out of that trip, I did not see coming. I thought I'd released all the resistance around my goal. I'd been doing the work every single day for months. And then I sat around a fire with my two business girlfriends and completely fell apart, because I realized that part of me had attached achieving this goal to losing everyone I love, ending up alone, and somehow having to go into hiding after a Reddit thread. I am not kidding. That is where my subconscious had taken me. And if that sounds familiar, even a little? This episode is for you. In this episode, you'll learn: Why wanting a goal with everything you have doesn't mean all parts of you are on board How your subconscious quietly attaches your goals to worst-case scenarios The "follow the thread" exercise for finding the hidden fear driving your food patterns Why your nervous system finds failure more comfortable than success How to do a "software update" so your goal finally feels safe to achieve If you've been stuck longer than makes sense, this one's going to make things click for you. 20. Healing From a 20-Year Undiagnosed Eating Disorder with Foster Wilson

    May 6, 202642 min

Eating disorders don't often look like what you might picture in your mind. We often dismiss what we're going through or experiencing because we're not "too thin" or needing to be hospitalized. But as you’ll hear in today’s episode, you don’t have to look sick to be struggling . I’m joined by Foster Wilson , a poet, postpartum doula, and podcast host whose work bridges creativity, care, and connection. After living with an undiagnosed eating disorder for over 20 years, Foster shares what it was really like to exist in the exhausting, all-consuming cycle of food noise, body shame, and perfectionism - all while appearing “fine” on the outside. Foster’s journey toward recovery began when she finally realized that her so-called “healthy habits” were actually keeping her trapped. Through intuitive eating, nervous system healing, and radical self-compassion, she learned to rebuild trust with her body and redefine what nourishment truly means. In this episode, you'll learn: What it’s really like to live with a “hidden” eating disorder How perfectionism and people-pleasing fuel food anxiety and control Why letting go of food rules feels terrifying — and why that’s a good thing How nervous system safety and self-compassion support food freedom The healing power of vulnerability, creativity, and community If you’ve ever wondered whether what you’re experiencing “counts” as disordered eating, or you’ve struggled to quiet the mental noise around food, this episode will remind you: you’re not broken, and it’s never too late to heal your relationship with food and your body.
