On this episode of Saturdays with Stacy , Jenny and Stacy head into the Jewish New Year with a very Saturdays with Stacy mix of fashion, family, menopause, body image, tennis, technology, friendship and gratitude. They kick things off with some serious fall shopping talk, including Stacy’s enthusiasm for the La Ligne/Banana Republic collaboration, pleated pants, suede, stripes and the idea that you don’t need an entirely new wardrobe to make yourself feel good—a few new pieces or even reorganizing what you already own can give you a fall refresh. Jenny also shares her love for an affordable Quince cotton-cashmere sweater, while reminding everyone that her issues with wool and cashmere remain very real. The conversation then turns to menopause, temperature swings and the frustration of simply not feeling quite right in your body. Stacy talks about her experience with vaginal estrogen and the bloating she believes she experienced while using Imvexxy, while the sisters discuss just how hormonally sensitive some women can be. Stacy also shares an update on taking Repatha, with a little help from Ruthie making sure she actually gives herself the injection. There are plenty of family updates too. Stacy spent Labor Day weekend relaxing in the Hamptons and then moved into Sophie’s for the week, giving her lots of time with the grandchildren—including special podcast guest Archie and an appearance from adorable Beatrice. The sisters also talk about how much fun they’ve been having watching an especially exciting U.S. Open, while Jenny looks ahead to Raquel being fully moved into her new apartment. After Haley uses the phrase, Jenny, Stacy and Lisa are left analyzing whether “regular size” is a compliment, an insult—or something no woman ever wants to hear. That discussion becomes even funnier when Stacy recounts a man at her gym asking whether she had “changed her look.” With no new haircut, workout clothes or obvious explanation, Stacy spirals into trying to figure out exactly what he meant—and wonders whether she needs to go back and demand clarification. The sisters unpack how loaded even an innocent comment about a woman’s appearance can become, particularly when body image is already on your mind.
