Why is there a Christian book about women's health and fertility? What does faith have to do with PAP smears and endometriosis?? Too often, the only time we see religion take part in conversations around reproductive health is when there's controversy or debate. That is not what we're about, or what our book is about. If you're interested in hearing just a hint of why we talk about faith alongside women's health, this episode is for you. NOTE: This episode is appropriate for most audiences but does mention sex ed. The Mira Hormone Monitor is a part of a growing Femtech movement designed to make reproductive hormone data available to women in an at-home setting. It promises a lot, but it's not cheap, so many women have some questions before they're ready to buy: How does Mira work? What will it require of the user? What kind of data does it actually provide? Does it work for every cycle type and every reproductive intention? Can it confirm ovulation? How? Can it be used with fertility awareness methods? To answer these questions and more, Caitlin invited Rose Mackenzie, Clinical Manager at Mira and FABM coach to talk about Mira and offer some special promotions to our listeners. Why special promotions? Because Mira is one of our sponsors for the upcoming book promotion of Caitlin's new book: Woven Well: A Christian Woman's Guide to Reproductive Health, Fertility, and Wholeness . More info below! Have you heard the stereotype of women peeing when they sneeze or laugh as they get older? What's up with that? Can it be prevented? What about pelvic pain, constipation, or tampon discomfort? All of these have one thing in common: pelvic floor health. Notice that the commonality is NOT pregnancy or delivery, like is often believed. Women can have pelvic floor issues, like urinary incontinence, when they are young, unmarried, or have never had biological children. The real question is: what can we do to prevent pelvic floor dysfunction like this? Pelvic floor exercises? Breathing techniques? Therapy? To answer that question and more, we've welcomed Dr. Erin Suellentrop, orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist to answer your most asked question! NOTE: This episode may not be appropriate for all audiences as it does reference intercourse. GUEST BIO: Dr. Erin Suellentrop is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the founder of ADAPT Physical Therapy in Wichita, Kansas, where she specializes in orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy. She helps women improve their pelvic floor to feel better in the gym, in the bedroom, and in their daily life.
