Ron Lessard is America's Greatest Living Noise Artist, and a legend if there ever was one. Between his pioneering label RRRecords, his alter ego EMIL BEAULIEAU, and his record shop in Lowell, Massachusetts, Ron is the embodiment of noise and an international treasure. In 2006, he quietly retired from performing live after years of tireless touring and recording. Now, to celebrate his 20 year anniversary of retirement, he returns for an interview "performance" on White Centipede noise Podcast. Jeph Jerman is a sound artist active since the early ’80s, known for his early work as HANDS TO, as well as groups such as CITY OF WORMS and BLOWHOLE, and now recording and performing under his own name. Jeph works with rough, raw, organic sounds - both played and captured - to create deeply penetrative work that defies easy categorization. In this conversation, we talk about his early experiments with body sounds, his approach to recording and degradation, the importance of listening and attention, field recording, improvisation, and the evolution of his practice over more than four decades. My guest this episode is Joe Wang of Outdoor Horse Shrine, a relative newcomer to noise who has already burned his name into many harsh heads registers with his intense and focused harsh electronic sound, touring extensively with Heat Signature, Being, and his duo with Brad Griggs, Psychic Sense Organs. During our conversation, we tried to pin down why we chase certain sounds, and revisit some fundamental yet Enigmatic questions about the nature of noise, along with lots about his history and current activities, like his label Secret Buddy and much more. You can find the complete conversation as well as several unreleased Kyle Flanagan tracks on Patreon: https://patreon.com/whitecentipedenoise Kyle has been an important part of the American noise underground for close to a decade, quietly influencing listeners and fellow artists alike with his personal brand of psychedelic noise and hands on participation, despite keeping a relatively low profile. He's been involved with the Dead Gods circle in New York and is now based in Richmond, Virginia. In this conversation, we talk about psychedelia, his time living in New York at the height of Dead Gods, involvement in Crazy Doberman, the value of local and regional scenes, and the recording process behind several of his best-known releases, just to name a few topics. https://easyridersnoise.bigcartel.com/ This episode is sponsored by Rural Isolation Project https://ruralisolationproject.com/ https://ruralisolationproject.bandcamp.com/ Also brought to you by: Andromache Records - https://andromacherecords.bigcartel.com/ Initial Shock IV - July 3-5, 2026 in Montreal, CAN - https://screamandwrithe.com/initialshock/ White Centipede Noise is also a label, distro, and private noise record store based in Potsdam, Germany - https://whitecentipedenoise.com/ Support the show

R.I.P. James Cooke While speaking with Egan Budd of Xiphoid Dementia on the podcast, he told me about a trove of interviews he recorded with noise artists for his Blood Ties webzine in the mid-2000s (later Existence Establishment). One of my favorite noise projects that has flown under the radar of many, and since we've been pen pals for years, it was great to finally meet in person. Felix’s other passions outside of noise include hacking and puppetry. His animatronic and rod puppetry work can be seen at https://avgrund.net/ . Bill Henson is an OG of both Minneapolis and international noise, playing in the duo JUHYO with Brian Kopish, running Housepig records, and working closely with artists like BASTARD NOISE, NAMANAX, AUBE, and more. He operates with an ethos that blends pragmatic professionalism with a DIY punk spirit. He also documents live Minneapolis noise extensively for his YouTube channel, and is working on a long-form documentary about the Minneapolis scene. Federal ICE agents are currently carrying out "Operation Metro Surge" in the city of Minneapolis, which has resulted in numerous unlawful killings at the hands of law enforcement, in addition to a wide range of civil rights abuses.
