    Good morning! Today I’m at Patrick Hartin House on Maple Grove Road. These two stone buildings are being recommended for heritage designation . The smaller cottage was built around 1840, and the larger home was built in 1886. They are among the last stone buildings from the late 19th century in Stittsville.     Good morning! Today I’m in front of École élémentaire publique Cassiopée – Stittsville’s newest elementary school. It’s located in Westwood at the corner of Cope and Dagenham. It opens to students this week, along with other french-language schools in Stittsville. A reminder to drivers to slow down, put your phone away, and follow traffic and parking rules, especially near schools. And good luck to students heading back to class! Bonjour!     Good morning! Today I’m at the stormwater pond between Boulonnais Grove and Paseana Place, and Terry Fox Drive (stormwater facility #1353). Stormwater ponds play a major role in flood control during major rain storms like the one we saw on July 1. This pond provides overflow capacity for the surrounding neighbourhood, and outlets via the Monaghan Drain to the Jock River and eventually the Rideau River.
