  1. Are proteolytic enzymes helpful or harmful for MCAS and POTS/Orthostatic Intolerance/Dysautonomia? from The Hidden Link between MCAS, Orthostatic Intolerance/dysautonomia, and Interstitial Cystitis (IC), opens in a new tab

    Sep 16, 202614 min

My own personal experience with proteolytic enzymes (from those that support gluten breakdown to the wildly popular nattokinase and serrapeptase) is much different than I expected. Here's what you need to know (whether you're taking these or considering these) even if you don't have: gluten intolerance (and cheat occasionally by popping a handful of enzymes) mast cell activation orthostatic intolerance/dysautonomia (with or without tachycardia) interstitial cystitis Long COVID migraines/severe headaches (and especially if you do). This segment is lifted directly out of Reclaim Wellness Intensive , the program I wish I'd had when I first started struggling with these symptoms (yes, I had all of these at once). P.S. You'll find much more detail about how each of these proteases behaves in the body (whether by upregulating matrix metalloproteinases or the body's own endogenous proteases) inside an upcoming post. P.P.S. For the tau protein part of this episode, proteases are known to cleave tau protein and those fragments are problematic (see references 5, 6, and 7 below). 18. How I overcame recurrent UTIs without a prescription from The Hidden Link between MCAS, Orthostatic Intolerance/dysautonomia, and Interstitial Cystitis (IC), opens in a new tab

    Aug 6, 202322 min

After a year and a half of dealing with recurrent UTIs so bad they caused me to miss work and bouncing from one healthcare practitioner to another, taking round after round of antibiotics and still winding up with another UTI once the antibiotic course completed, I finally asked the right question... why? Here's the scoop: that very 1st UTI occurred within 2 weeks of when I stopped using hormonal birth control. Turns out, long-term use of hormonal contraceptives can mess with your blood sugar metabolism. And when I quit cold turkey, my body was seriously insulin resistant and because it didn't have those synthetic hormones around to stimulate it to release large doses of insulin, I wasn't metabolizing my food in a healthy way. In this episode, you'll learn how to recognize whether a blood sugar metabolism problem is causing your UTIs (and maybe even whether it's related to your diagnosis of interstitial cystitis) regardless of whether you've ever used hormonal birth control or have recently stopped using hormonal birth control. This episode's packed with valuable insights and links over to Rain Organica's program which provides practical steps to help your body regain healthy blood sugar balance. Imagine freeing yourself from the endless cycle of recurrent UTIs and reclaiming your health within just one week! So, if you're ready to break free from UTIs and UTI symptoms, hit that listen button. Ready to start your journey to break free from UTIs and UTI symptoms?
