  1. Should you sell stock or custom pottery? from Meet The Potter, opens in a new tab

    Q. Should you sell stock or custom pottery? unofficial notes : Don't take one off custom orders. One offs - take ages to do listings. Can be good for finding the right type of pot that is popular. Only usually work for very expensive pieces in the long run. Stock items - least stressful method. Can end up with stock you don't like. Hard to predict what people will want. Can't make sets of everything. Made to order - can be good to increase sales with personalised stuff. Making plain pots to order means less stock sitting around. Can be stressful - no limit on orders. Try combination - one offs to start, then other methods when find popular pots.
