How could last weekend have gotten any better? The Rays' proposed new stadium in Tampa is officially a full go after receiving nearly $900 million in public funding from the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County, ending (for now) what's been a saga that's lasted two decades in Tampa Bay. Just as plans for the future home of the Rays have been finalized, the team finished a weekend sweep of the San Diego Padres in thrilling fashion with an improbable walk-off win on Sunday, a series this team was destined to win after the stadium news came out.
