The Design Dialogues

New York-based architecture and design studio Worrell Yeung produces work that spans cultural, commercial, civic and residential settings. The firm was founded in 2015 by Max Worrell and Jejon Yeung, who join Suzy Annetta on the line for a conversation about their life, work and joint practice

Since its founding in 1987, skincare brand Aesop has been renowned for its commitment to design and hospitality. Aesop‘s global retail design director Marianne Lardilleux joins editorial director Simone Schultz on the line from Paris to discuss the brand‘s philosophies on design, community and sustainability.

Founded in the 1970s, Studio MK27 is made up of a global network of 40 architects and collaborators, working collectively to develop projects that pay homage to Brazilian modernism. Suzy Annetta is joined by two of its directors, Marcio Kogan and Diana Radomysler, on the line from Sao Paolo.

Famed Italian architect Michele De Lucchi has a portfolio of work and roster of clients that spans the globe, having designed for some of the industry’s most influential brands. He now runs AMDL Circle, his architectural practice focused on an open, human-centred approach. He’s on the line from his base in Milan, where he joins Suzy Annetta in conversation.

Based in Hong Kong, Bryant Lu is the vice-chairman of Ronald Lu & Partners. Established by his father in 2000, the firm has six offices across mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, tackling high profile projects including Tencent’s new headquarters in Shanghai. Lu is also an advocate for Hong Kong’s cultural scene, holding roles at M+ and the Hong Kong Arts Centre. He joins Suzy Annetta on the line from Hong Kong.

Antonio Citterio is a renowned Italian architect, furniture and industrial designer. In 2000, he co-founded cross-disciplinary practice ACPV Architects. He also works independently for companies ranging from Hermes to Vitra. He joins Suzy Annetta on the line from Milan.

Founded in 2007, Draga & Aurel is a multidisciplinary studio working at the intersection of art, furniture and collectible design from the Italian city of Como. Its namesake founders join Suzy Annetta on the line from their studio for a conversation about how they met, their influences and running both a creative practice and life together

Melbourne-based interior designer Fiona Lynch joins Suzy Annetta at Carlyle & Co., a private members club in Hong Kong, for an intimate conversation about creating spaces that speak to you. Looking through the lens of key projects, the discussion offers a unique insight into the running of a modern studio and the creative process.
