The boys have been thinking API 650 storage tanks for a while now and got the perfect opportunity to talk with some specialists from Ranger Inspections. This week the boys decided to pour through the most recent edition of ABSA's AB-506 "Inspection and Servicing Requirements for In-Service Pressure Equipment". One of the back-bone documents of their local regulator- ABSA AB-506 was created to assist owners & owner/users develop an effective integrity management program which spans the lifecycle of their equipment from construction to decommissioning. The document (AB-506) also lays out some rules for inspection companies and organizations who provide services to owner-users help maintain these programs, as well as the people who conduct the inspections. In the first part of this two part series the boys walk through the document covering some basic terminology "they" deemed important from section 2, and have casual conversation about sections 3 through 10. In the second season opener Scott and Frank sit down and do a quick recap of their first season, and are amazed people are still listening. They tackle a few listener question they encountered such as working your way into your first visual job (or moving up from your current position), final package reviews and fitting registrations vs fitting modifications / construction, as well have a bit of open discussion on double checking with your peers when you encounter something that makes you scratch your head.

As the boys are neck-deep turnaround they take a night after work to reflect on a few key things they have encountered so far. In part 3 of their piping mini series Frank goes crossed-eyed during his attempt at an intro, and mixes up his process flow diagrams with piping and instrument diagrams. They start off with a "quick" recap of Part 2, and jump right into piping circuitization, possible locations to start and end your piping circuits. In this episode Scott nearly faints trying a new opener, and the boys continue on with their piping life-cycle series. The episode starts with a re-cap of some acronyms, owner-user requirements, inspection company requirements and clarification of some important points made in episode one.
