The Subconscious Expert is a podcast about the subconscious mind, identity and self leadership for powerfully ambitious women who know what they want next and are ready to become the version of themselves who can actually hold it. You’re doing well, your business works, you’re smart, driven and you already know a lot and yet, behind the scenes, you can feel that something about the way you’ve been operating doesn’t quite fit anymore. Maybe consistency still feels harder than it should, maybe success feels heavier as things grow, maybe you lead everyone else powerfully, but struggle to lead yourself with the same clarity and self trust or maybe you can feel a bigger level calling you, and you want to meet it without burning out, overthinking, or losing yourself in the process. This podcast is for that moment. I’m your host, Rebecca Haydon NLP Trainer and Subconscious Business Mentor. I work with the subconscious side of business growth, identity, and leadership. I work with women building businesses at different stages and the patterns underneath are rarely as different as you’d expect. What’s happening at a subconscious level is what we work with here. Each week on The Subconscious Expert, we unpack subconscious patterns, identity shifts, and self-leadership skills that shape how you: • lead yourself • make decisions • handle responsibility and visibility • hold more success • sustain the level you’re stepping into These episodes are grounded, practical conversations rooted in NLP, subconscious work and leadership, supporting you to trust yourself more, feel clearer about what to do, and lead in a way that actually feels solid to live inside. This is the kind of work that shortens the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it, the kind that changes how you show up day to day and the kind that lets your next level feel like something you can stand in. If you’re ready to build a life and business that matches who you’re becoming, you’re in the right place. New episodes weekly. Do you feel like you have been following someone else's advice for so long that your business no longer feels like your own? I'm seeing this happen so often right now among women entrepreneurs, and it's time we talked about it! You join someone's mastermind or coaching container because you want what they have. You learn their strategy, how they run their business, how they show up... and it works great. But somewhere along the way, you realise the version of you that created those results doesn't actually feel like you any more, and isn't aligned with your values. That's what I'm talking about today: the identity work behind building an aligned business, the difference between identity expansion vs imitating someone else's, and how to create your own version of success. Topics covered on Identity Work: What's the difference between identity expansion and identity imitation? How do you end up losing yourself when following someone else's version of success? What happens when a strategy works but feels completely wrong? How do your values shape the way you sell, lead, and show up in your business? What does real identity work look like, and where did the identity you're building actually come from? Identity work isn't about sitting down with a thousand journal prompts and a 17 step mindset routine (even though that's what the internet would make you believe). Identity work starts with observing your current identity: how you show up in your business, the language you use, the subconscious beliefs you hold about yourself. So if you want to know how to change your identity, we start with something I call 'hidden clues'. It's what I listen for in every client conversation, in every message, and it's where your limiting beliefs give themselves away without you noticing. Topics covered on Identity Work: What are throwaway sentences, and what do they tell me about you that you can't hear? Once you notice your throwaway sentences, ask yourself these 3 identity work questions Why does your brain keep collecting proof of the identity you're actively trying to change? Does your future self feel like someone else ENTIRELY? Good, that's exactly what we're looking for! You know who you want to become. You can probably picture how she runs her business, the money she makes, how she leads, how she sells, the decisions she makes and how she shows up. But when someone tells you to “change your identity,” “step into your next-level identity” or “become the version of you who already has it” … what the hell are you actually supposed to change? Because your identity isn't something you can physically see and it’s definitely bigger than choosing a few new habits, asking “what would my future self do?” and hoping your subconscious gets the memo. In this episode of The Subconscious Expert , I break down what identity actually is, how your subconscious forms its understanding of “who I am” , and why your identity can influence everything from the way you sell and make decisions to how much success feels normal for you to hold. If identity work has always felt slightly intangible, this episode will make it a hell of a lot more practical. Topics covered on Identity Work: What your identity actually is beyond the “future self” language you see online. How experiences, meanings, beliefs and generalisations contribute to your subconscious understanding of who you are. The difference between something you do and something you've started believing you are. The NLP Neurological Levels and where identity sits within them. Why the same business problem can require completely different subconscious work depending on what's happening underneath it. How your current identity influences selling, visibility, decision-making, leadership, money and what feels possible for you. Why simply “acting as if” or copying the behaviour of your future self doesn't necessarily create an identity shift. What happens when the identity you want conflicts with existing beliefs, associations or different parts of you. How new experiences and repetition help something move from “that's not me” to “of course that's me.” Two questions to help you start uncovering your current identity and the gap between who you are now and who you're becoming. What does it actually take to create, teach and hold an NLP Master Practitioner training? In this episode, I’m taking you properly behind the scenes of one of the biggest trainings I’ve ever created inside The Subconscious Institute, my training school where I train coaches and practitioners in different modalities for working with the subconscious mind. After three months of preparation, a nearly 400 page manual, five full days of online training and three days together in a château in France, I officially qualified our first TSI NLP Master Practitioners. But there was a LOT that happened before the graduation photos you saw on Instagram. I’m taking you through the whole bloody thing: what NLP Masters actually is, why teaching at Master Practitioner level stretched me in a completely new way, everything that went into creating the training and what happened when we finally got everyone together in France. I also get into the side you don’t necessarily see, holding my 1:1 clients alongside the training, being away from Ivy for the longest I’ve ever been away from her, the mum guilt that came with that, the support that allowed me to hold everything and what this experience taught me about my own capacity. And, of course, we’re getting into the subconscious work underneath ALL of it. Because one of my biggest realisations from Masters had nothing to do with learning another NLP technique. It was what happens when you step beyond the evidence you currently have for who you are, do the bloody thing anyway and give your subconscious the evidence to catch up. Topics covered on NLP Masters: What NLP is and what changes when you progress from NLP Practitioner to NLP Master Practitioner Why Masters required a completely different way of teaching and why that stretched me as a trainer Critical mass, subconscious evidence and why doing something new can feel so bloody uncomfortable The three months of preparation behind my first NLP Masters training Creating a nearly 400 page training manual and the standard I want every TSI qualification to represent The NLP techniques and concepts we explored, including Strategies, Values, Parts Integration, Meta Programs and advanced linguistics What happened during the five-day online training and some of the breakthroughs I witnessed The VERY unglamorous journey to France before the château retreat What happened during our three days of in-person NLP Masters training Holding students, my 1:1 clients and myself throughout an incredibly intense 10 days Capacity and why being able to hold more doesn’t mean it stops feeling like a lot Being away from Ivy, mum guilt and allowing motherhood and ambition to coexist How Jack helped bring the entire Masters retreat to life and what our different Meta Programs have taught me about building a team The board break, Goal Evolution and officially qualifying our first TSI NLP Master Practitioners The full circle moment of going from completing my own NLP Masters in 2019 to teaching my own The evidence Masters gave me about who I am as a teacher and what I’m building with The Subconscious Institute Train with The Subconscious Institute: View upcoming training dates & apply Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube
Having fun in business shouldn't be optional but mandatory. So why is it the last thing we think about when it comes to business? Today, I'm bringing you another client success story. Therese came to my world about a year ago overwhelmed, multitasking constantly and convinced she just needs more discipline. She'd come to hate marketing her business, because every post had to be perfect before she'd let anyone see it. A year on, she runs that same business as a completely different woman, and the thing that shifted had nothing to do with strategy. Through parts work she found the part of herself she'd buried, and once she reconnected with her, everything changed. We got into the money beliefs she inherited from generations before her, how we rebuilt her money mindset, and the one thing that we did that ended her social media comparison in a matter of days! Topics covered on How To Bring The Fun In Business: What kills the fun in business faster than anything else, and what did Therese need instead? Where was Therese a year ago, and what finally made her invest in mindset coaching? How did we discover the part of herself that completely changed how she runs her business now? What did we do to end her social media comparison spiral once and for all? What shifted in her money mindset when she realised those money beliefs were never hers? Have you ever had that feeling like something is missing in your business? No matter how much progress you've made, how many clients you've worked with, how many courses you've invested in, there's still a little voice telling you that you haven't quite found it yet. I hear this a lot. And it always comes from women who are doing incredibly well on paper. So they convince themselves they need to improve their messaging, find a new strategy, or that they've outgrown their positioning. No, you don't. There's something deeper going on in your subconscious mind, and it has everything to do with your reticular activating system and the limiting beliefs underneath that keep you stuck in that "I'm still missing something" feeling. It's time to overcome that self doubt! Topics covered on Feeling Like Something Is Missing: Why do you still feel like something is missing even though your business is doing well? What is the reticular activating system filter and why does it matter for your business? The reason comparison gets so loud when you're already wondering what you're missing. The question to ask instead if you want to overcome that self doubt once and for all. Have you reached the point in your business where on paper everything should feel good? You've got the clients, you've built something successful, and yet a little part of you is screaming that something doesn't feel right anymore. Then we need to chat about identity work! My gorgeous client Beth Beeley-Cave first came into my world for her NLP practitioner qualification, wanting tools to support the business she already had. What neither of us expected was that the work would have her questioning almost everything she thought she knew about herself. Then she joined my 1:1 container, and what followed was a massive identity shift. She launched a completely different business and built a next level of self trust and conviction that really has completely changed the way that she leads herself. This is Beth's story, but I have a feeling you'll hear parts of yourself in it too. Topics covered on Identity Work: How misaligned Beth felt before and the identity crisis that put her in hospital The moment Beth realised she fallen out of love with the business she was known for The horrible in-between where the old you is gone but the new you hasn't fully arrived yet The biggest breakthroughs she experienced inside our work together The people closest to you spot your identity shift first, how her partner clocked it before Beth did The insane results that followed once the deep identity work kicked in Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Institute Come say hi on Instagram | YouTube | Website Connect with Beth Beeley-Cave: Website: https://internalrebrand.com Instagram: @internalrebrand Podcast: Rebrand Land Related episodes: https://player.captivate.fm/collection/849f9d4f-b4b9-4591-bed9-fe19f53ee5dc
Most people think subconscious reprogramming starts with a dramatic breakthrough. Mine started with the colour yellow. When I was 21 I was in the pits. Bottom of my list stage school, being told I was too fat, dating boys who wrecked my mental health, and on antidepressants. Then a coach gave me one strange instruction. Notice the colour yellow. She never told me why. Within days I saw yellow everywhere, and something in me started to shift. I had no clue that one sentence would send me down a rabbit hole of subconscious mind work, NLP and hypnotherapy, or that it would become my career for nearly 8 years. Today, I'm taking you through the 3 moments that made me absolutely obsessed with subconscious reprogramming. Now, let me take you back. Topics covered on Subconscious Reprogramming: The biggest shift in your subconscious reprogramming might come from something as ordinary as a colour How these NLP techniques completely changed the way I read human behaviour Why two people can live the exact same moment and walk away with opposite memories of it What my clients say to me after a session that I could never sell you on, no matter how good my marketing is Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube The Subconscious Institute
You've heard the myths - swinging watches, losing control, clucking like a chicken on stage. In this episode, I talk about the real story of how a session I booked purely to lose weight accidentally became the start of my entire career. I break down what hypnosis actually is, walk through the thousands of years history behind it and explain why, after seven years in this work, I've decided it's time to start training other people to do it too. In this episode, I talk about: The accidental beginning - the weight-loss session, the Princess Rebecca hypnosis track, and the moment at the Christmas table that changed everything The biggest myths about hypnosis - swinging watches, stage shows, losing control, and why none of it is true So what actually is hypnosis - the real definition. Why your clients aren't the problem - Milton Erickson's rapport insight and what it means for anyone who feels stuck on repeat Why NLP and hypnosis have never been separate for me and what each one gives you that the other doesn't Why I'm training practitioners in both and why this feels like the natural next step, not a new direction Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Resources mentioned in this episode: The Subconscious Institute - Hypnotherapy Practitioner Certification waitlist Millionaire Hypnosis Bundle
What if falling in love with your next level was the thing that changed everything? In this episode, I teach one of the most powerful reframes you will ever come across when it comes to going after your next level because most of us have been taught that reaching our vision is about focusing harder, taking more action, and grinding towards what we want. And while that is part of the picture - it is not the whole picture. When you fall in love with someone, you do not have to remind yourself to think about them. You cannot get them off your mind. And when you bring that same quality of energy, that warmth, that certainty, that natural and easeful orientation, to your next level, your vision, the version of you on the other side everything shifts. Because the next level that is meant for you is the love child of your conscious and subconscious mind working together. And in this episode, I show you exactly what it takes to get both minds in the room, moving in the same direction, towards the same beloved. Topics covered on Why The Law Of Attraction Isn't Working: Why focusing on your vision isn't enough the two projections running simultaneously in your conscious and unconscious mind Why obsessive focus can be counterproductive and the specific suggestion your unconscious mind is receiving when you forcing your vision "Guess what? You don't trust me" what your unconscious mind is really hearing when you force the focus What actually happens when the underlying belief clears and why the next level becomes a walk in the park How to fall in love with your next level, your vision, and the version of you on the other side The love child of your conscious and unconscious mind - what aligned manifestation actually looks and feels like. How do you believe in yourself when you're the best in the world at believing in everyone else? Someone in your world is doubting herself right now, and you don't hesitate for one second to tell her why she's ready. But when you need to believe in yourself, suddenly you need more proof, more time, more certainty. In today's episode I'm talking about why it is easier to believe in everyone else than yourself. We'll look at why your subconscious treats self belief as a threat while backing everyone else feels completely safe, and one tool that will help you change it all. You already coach everyone else brilliantly, so this week I want you to become your own client and coach yourself. Topics covered on How To Believe In Yourself: Why does believing in everyone else feel so much easier than believing in yourself? Why does backing a client feel safe while backing yourself feels like a threat? What is your subconscious getting backwards about self belief? How do you coach yourself in the moments you struggle to believe in yourself? There is a decision you keep 'almost' making, and the NLP techniques I'm sharing today are built for that exact moment of 'almost'. In the moment, the fear feels enormous: loud, real, sitting heavy on your chest. The payoff, the version of you on the other side, you can see her, but you can't feel her the way you feel the fear. That gap is the whole problem, and there's a neurological reason your brain makes the fear register roughly twice as painful as the win feels good. So today I'm going into the survival wiring behind overcoming fear in business, the negative bias, and the four NLP techniques that flip it: future pacing, emotional rehearsal, anchoring and the visualisation techniques that make the payoff feel as real as the dread. The woman on the other side of that decision is already there, you just can't feel her yet. Let's start closing the gap. Topics covered on NLP Techniques To Make Dreams Bigger Than Fear: Why does the fear always feel bigger than the payoff? What does 50,000 years of survival wiring have to do with the fear you feel in business? How do you get sensory specific with the payoff, and bring it into the same high definition your fear already plays in? Which NLP techniques can you use when the fear shows up? One of the most common patterns I hear from ambitious women is the "I know... but" cycle. I know I'm good at what I do, but... I know my clients get results, but... I know I'm capable of more, but I'm scared I won't be able to hold it all. And what most women don't realise is that this is a very specific subconscious pattern and it has a very specific mechanism. In this episode, I pull it apart layer by layer so you can finally understand what is actually happening in your brain, why it keeps happening, and what it genuinely takes to shift it. This is the episode for the woman who has done the mindset work, said the affirmations, journaled the thoughts and still finds herself at the same ceiling. Topics covered on The Most Expensive Word In Business: The "I know... but" pattern - why ambitious, high achieving women are arguing with their own potential every single day Why the brain generates the "but" in the first place - the subconscious protection response and why it has nothing to do with your capability How the word "but" actually works on your mind - what NLP teaches us about why the second half of the sentence always wins The difference between a thought, a belief, and an identity and which level your "but" is actually running at Why affirmations and surface level mindset work won't touch a pattern installed at belief or identity level What actually shifts the pattern - hypnosis, NLP techniques, and identity installation explained A practical weekly exercise to start catching the "but," understanding what it's protecting, and building the evidence that changes your default Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube
Almost no one in the online business space is talking about NLP in marketing like this, and it is the reason your content lands beautifully for some people and slides straight past everyone else. I have been using neuro-linguistic programming in my marketing and how I sell since 2019, the day I first qualified as an NLP practitioner. Most content gets written from a single representational system, usually your own, because you assume everyone sees the world the way you do. They do not, and the moment your words only speak one sensory language, you go invisible to most of your audience. I'm going into the 4 representational systems, the predicates that reveal how your ideal client processes the world, and the NLP techniques that let one caption make 4 different people feel personally seen. Once you hear the patterns, you cannot unhear them. Topics covered on NLP Techniques in Marketing: What representational systems are and why almost no one applies NLP in marketing this way? How to spot which representational system your ideal client runs? Why writing from one representational system makes you invisible to most of your audience? The NLP technique I use to weave all 4 systems into a single piece of content so everyone feels seen Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Resources mentioned in this episode: The Subconscious Institute Find out your CEO profile with C.E.I Quiz Detailed show notes: https://rebeccahaydon.com/podcast/why-your-content-reaches-only-a-fraction-of-your-audience-nlp-techniques-in-marketing
Personal stories are converting clients right now like nothing else and educational content is no longer trending. There's a specific subconscious reason why that is happening and I'm going to share it with you. Today, I'm talking about subconscious marketing and showing you what's happening in your ideal client's subconscious mind when she reads your story versus the boring " 5 tips" carousel. Using storytelling in sales is doing something very specific in your ideal client's mind and it's the missing piece that makes her say yes to working with you. This is the conversation that will shift how you show up online. Topics covered on Subconscious Marketing: Why personal brand content is converting right now What AI has done to educational content and the one thing it can't replicate when you sell on social media The gatekeeper in your ideal client's mind that decides if your message lands or get ignored Why your story doesn't need to match your ideal client's for subconscious marketing to work The visibility subconscious blocks that are keeping you hiding behind polished posts Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Resources mentioned in this episode: The Subconscious Institute Related episodes you may enjoy: 100. Everyone is talking about how to practice detachment right now and most of it is being taught completely wrong: "Stop checking his Instagram. Stop refreshing your Stripe account at 2am. Let it go and it will come." So let's talk about the real law of detachment. Practicing detachment is not about a morning routine, a journal prompt or a breathing exercise you perform until the universe rewards you. The real detachment lives at a subconscious level, and until you detach from the outcome at that depth, you will keep repelling the very thing you are reaching for. And nowhere is this more obvious than in your business. I am pulling the curtain back on why your content, your launches and your quiet weeks feel so heavy right now, and what is actually happening underneath when you cannot detach from the outcome. And to show you exactly what this looks like in real life, I am taking you back to 2022, the wedding where I met Jack (now my fiancé and father of our daughter Ivy), too many Pornstar Martinis, the weird hair, the Eiffel Tower moment, and the EastEnders level drama that followed. If you have been trying to perform detachment instead of becoming it, this one is going to land. Topics covered on How to Practice Detachment: Why the mainstream version of detachment practice is being taught completely wrong What the real law of detachment looks like at a subconscious level, versus the performative version everyone is selling online The difference between wanting something from internal certainty and wanting it from "I will only be okay when this arrives" The full story of how I met Jack at the wedding in 2022 and the subconscious reprogramming that had already happened before I walked in How to actually detach from the outcome without pretending you do not care about it Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Related episodes you may enjoy: 100. There's a story I tell clients that gives them goosebumps every single time. It involves me ugly crying on my bed in 2020, an iced latte's worth of frustration, and a request I made to the universe that was so ridiculous, so unlikely, there was no way it could ever come true. A blue panda. The universe delivered 3 days later. And it cracked open everything I thought I understood about subconscious beliefs. I'm talking about the gap between knowing vs believing. This gap is the reason so many of you are stuck in the exact same income, same clients, same ceiling, year after year. Because you can have the qualifications, read the books, follow the coaches, and still find yourself lowering your prices on sales calls and taking 5 days to post one piece of content. That's the gap between knowing vs believing. And the fix lives inside your reticular activating system, not your strategy. By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly which side of that gap you're on. And what it actually takes to cross it. Topics covered on Subconscious Beliefs: The blue panda story, what happens when you ask the universe for a sign so ridiculous it cannot possibly come true, and it does anyway Your subconscious beliefs are running 95% of every decision in your business so better make sure they're aligned with your goals Your reticular activating system can be your best friend or worst enemy, this is how to hack your brain to help you smash your goals Vision boards, journaling prompts, and New Year's decisions are not enough to shift your subconscious beliefs on their own The subconscious mind work I did to build my self belief Connect with Rebecca Haydon: Apply to work with me The Subconscious Membership Come say hi on Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Related episodes you may enjoy: 117. You've tried the productivity hacks, the better to-do lists, the habit stacking and none of it has helped you overcome procrastination for longer than a week, right? That's because procrastination is not a discipline problem. It's a self sabotage behaviour being run by your subconscious beliefs about who you are. So in today's episode, I'm going to talk about why "I'm a procrastinator" is one of the most damaging limiting beliefs you can carry in your business and what actually happens in your brain when you make procrastination part of your identity. I'm giving you four procrastination tips that go beyond surface level strategies because they work with your subconscious, not against it. Your calendar is full. Your days are packed. You are grafting. And yet your business still feels like it's running you instead of the other way around. That's not a time management problem. That's your leader identity trying to get your attention underneath a pile of doing. In today's episode, I'm breaking apart the doer identity, the part of you that was built to be the reliable one, the one who got things done, the one who never let anything slip, and why that same part is now the ceiling you keep hitting. I'm talking about the subconscious beliefs that made "busy" feel like "worthy" and why no amount of discipline will fix what is actually an identity shift waiting to happen. I'm also sharing exactly what your calendar is revealing about your CEO mindset right now (whether you like it or not, it's basically your subconscious document) and I'm giving you four things to do this week, starting with how you open your laptop tomorrow morning, that start building your CEO identity in real time. You've been waiting for the proof... the consistent months, the sold out programme, the income that finally feels like enough, the moment you can see exactly how it's going to work before you fully back yourself. And every time you get close - something shifts. The goalposts move, you explain it away and you go back to waiting. In this episode, I break down exactly what is happening in your subconscious when you wait for proof and wait for the how and why both of them are the same pattern keeping you exactly where you are.
