I just coached someone to $3.2 million in a launch. Now, I've never personally made $3.2 million in a single launch myself. But here's what changed everything for me: I don't have to have done what they're doing. I just have to know how to solve the problems they face. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the premium private client model-a revenue stream that's sitting in plain sight that most coaches miss because they haven't repositioned how they think about pricing. Over 17 years, I've built multiple revenue streams: courses (14,000 people through Conversion Story Formula), group coaching, masterminds, and advisory boards. But premium private clients sit at the tip of the spear. I've made $300K-$600K per year from premium clients while only working with 15 total clients per year. Right now, two clients just signed this week for $62,000-that's for about 10 coaching sessions. Here's the shift: the price of your coaching isn't determined by your current audience. It's determined by who buys it. What you'll learn: → Price is determined by the person, not your current audience - Why context changes everything → Solve urgent, important problems - The "broken tooth" problem that demands premium pricing → Be a stallion whisperer - Why you don't have to have done it to coach someone through it → Why one-on-one coaching at premium rates isn't the same as a one-on-one coaching business → How to attract the right premium clients without changing what you teach → The structure of premium private client offers ($3K-$10K/month models) → Why scarcity in premium clients actually increases the value of everything else you offer Real insights from the episode: Why I charge $3,800/hour now when I used to charge $125/hour The manny example: same job, $40-55K for a regular family vs $150-200K for a high-net-worth family How executive families will pay premium rates for parenting coaching when the stakes involve billion-dollar deals Why Olympic coaches didn't all win gold medals themselves The difference between building a one-on-one coaching business vs adding premium private clients How 15 clients per year can generate $300K-$600K in revenue Why 3-4 month engagements work better than long-term coaching relationships The Kajabi feature that brought 14,000 people through Conversion Story Formula How premium pricing affects perception and scarcity of all your other offerings Premium Private Client Masterclass: I'm hosting a live masterclass on building premium private clients-everything from positioning and messaging to structuring your offers and attracting the right clients. Discover how to add $10-20K/month in new revenue by working with just 3-6 premium clients per year. Go to colinboyd.co/premium to register. It's completely free and I'll be answering questions live. Right now, there is somewhat of an existential crisis going on. People are questioning: What value do I bring to the world? How can I, if I'm not smarter than AI, really add value? Where is my business and career direction going? I also think there is a strong movement towards people wanting authentic connection and an incredible opportunity right now for you to stand out in the marketplace as you. In this podcast, we unpack how to capitalize on the human advantage that is right now. With three big ideas, we explore: The use of sprinkling in some sweat so that you can connect with your current clients. Connecting with your audience more authentically so that they feel connected to you and want to buy from you. Why creating real-time interaction with your audience is one of the most profitable strategies right now I also announced that we are hosting another implementation workshop for premium private clients. This experience sold out last time, and Colin Boyd will be hosting it personally. You're booked solid. All the creative projects you wanted. All the clients saying yes. Your portfolio is overflowing. But you're exhausted. Overworked. The money isn't matching the hustle. And you're wondering if building a bigger creative business means becoming a manager of people you don't want to manage. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I sit down with Laura Higgins, who went from struggling with pricing and positioning to building a multi-seven-figure creative business. More importantly, she did it without losing the freedom, fun, or creativity that makes the work worth doing. Here's what most creatives don't realize: being good at your craft isn't enough. A photographer can take stunning photos. A designer can create beautiful work. An agency owner can deliver incredible results. But when it comes to pricing, selling, marketing, and building systems? Most creatives freeze. We talk about how Laura got the "niche slap" early on, shifted her entire positioning, and built a tiered system that serves creatives at every stage-from beginners to six-figure earners making $150K/month. What you'll learn: → Get the niche slap - Why serving everyone means helping no one (and how narrowing down changes everything) → Solve for what they don't want - Why negative positioning attracts better clients than positive promises → Build a tiered approach - How to serve different avatars at different revenue stages with different offers → Promise identity, not income - Why shifting from "make $30K/month" to "become this version of yourself" keeps clients longer → The creative business problem - Why photographers, designers, and agencies stay booked but broke → How to position yourself as the expert in the creative space → The benchmark that works (and why it matters for your pricing) Real insights from the episode: Laura's journey from starting a creative business at 23 with no idea how to sell The moment Colin told her "you're serving too many people" (the niche slap) How she started with a $9 product (Fully Booked) to filter for the right people Why her original promise of "$5K to $30K/month" had people leaving when they hit $30K How shifting to a $10K/month benchmark changed her entire business The difference between marketing to income vs identity Why some clients want $30K/month with 20 hours of work, others want $150K/month with a small team How creatives lose their creativity when they scale (and how to prevent it) The role of messaging when different people have different goals Why "what they don't want" matters more than "what they do want" Connect with Laura on Instagram @laurahiggins (it's aura, not laura, because she's Australian). I've run close to a thousand workshop days over 17 years. And if there's one thing I know: it doesn't take thousands of people to change your business. Ten people in a room? Game changing. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the five execution ideas that separate successful in-person workshops from expensive flops. This is Part 2 of the in-person workshop formula—the strategy was Part 1, this is how to actually run them. Get these five ideas right and people walk out with finished products, deeper connections, and they'll be begging to buy your next offer. Get them wrong and you'll have an expensive gathering with no results. What you'll learn: → Go from warm to cold in your marketing - Why starting with your warmest audience gets butts in seats → Focus on finishing - Why people want to leave with a finished product, not notes → Set up expectations with pre-framing - How 20-30 minutes of framing changes the entire engagement level → Fill out boxes to break down complexity - How to turn complex concepts into simple fillable templates people actually complete → Design the room for discussion - Why roundtables convert better than U-shapes or classroom setups → The psychology of immersion - Why two days in a room changes more than months of online content → How to structure activities that actually stick - Breaking the complex into simple, fillable boxes → Why AI-generated content overwhelms people (and how to fix it) → The role of logistics in transformation - How room setup determines engagement level Real insights from the episode: Why I don't try to fill rooms with cold traffic (warm is where the magic happens) The Bonjoro approach to personal outreach (and why it works) How to design activities with five fillable boxes (story mapping example) The pre-framing that makes everyone feel like friends immediately Why finish-focused workshops convert better than content-dump workshops The mini U-shaped roundtable setup that beats all other configurations How to handle people facing backward in roundtables (without awkwardness) Why one big influencer was SMSing old clients to fill their event The immersion principle from Anthony Robbins (and why it works) How to set expectations so people show up ready to engage The difference between knowledge and knowing (and why it matters) Join us at Sell From Stage Live in-person event September 18th and 19th in Huntington Beach, California Register here: https://training.colinboyd.co/ssa-live-event Interested in Elite? Online events tend to convert weak. Connection feels distant. People disappear after the training. Then you run an in-person workshop. Same content. Same you. And something magic happens. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the in-person workshop formula that separates six-figure coaches from seven-figure coaches. This is Part 1 of a deep dive into the most powerful tool for scaling your business in 2026. One of my Elite clients went from $15K-$20K a month to $90K a month. After Sell from Stage Live, she told me "I never would have created this without your program." That conversation wouldn't have meant the same in a Zoom call. Here's what most people don't realize: in an AI world where information is everywhere, real human connection is becoming increasingly rare and increasingly valuable. In-person workshops create that connection. They build community. They increase enrollment. They create stickiness so clients stay longer. What you'll learn: → The 5 big reasons in-person events work (and why online can't compete) → Results - Information becomes implementation when people are in the room → Ascension - The magnetic pull of being physically present with the leader → Proof - Real footage of you on stage becomes your best marketing asset in an AI world → Community - Peer bonds that can't be created online → Stickiness - How in-person events keep clients longer and more committed → The three types of workshops - Implementation events, signature live events, intimate intensives Real insights from the episode: Why I spent $50K at a free event (the power of in-person) The client transformation story: $15K to $90K through community and connection How in-person creates proof through real footage (critical in the AI age) Why online community can't replace physical proximity The three event types explained (and which one to run first) Why cutoff dates and early-bird bonuses drive registration The follow-up sequence that keeps momentum after the event Join us at Sell From Stage Live in-person event September 18th and 19th in Huntington Beach, California Register here: https://training.colinboyd.co/ssa-live-event Interested in Elite? So many struggle with something that has the power to change everything-conversation. The fear of rejection. The worry of not belonging. That awkward moment when you don't know what to say next. We've all been there. But here's the truth: Your ability to make genuine connections will impact your success more than any marketing tactic ever will. In this episode, I break down three simple but powerful strategies to help you engage in conversations with confidence, ease, and real impact: - How your body language shapes the way people perceive you before you even say a word. - A subtle shift that creates deeper, more natural connections. - The key to guiding conversations effortlessly, so they feel engaged instead of forced. If networking, small talk, or meeting new people has ever felt intimidating, this episode is for you. Let's make conversations feel natural - and even enjoyable. —--------------------- I'm hosting the first in person event I've held in 6 years - September 18th and 19th. Less than 2 months away. You may be thinking your course is the problem. Or your offer. Or your pricing. Or your funnel. But can I be real with you? None of those are the problem. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down what people are actually buying when they purchase your program. Spoiler: it's not your course content. They're buying something invisible. Something you can't see on the sales page or in your emails. Something that either exists or it doesn't. They're buying certainty. Not information. Not the methodology. Certainty that if they join, they're actually going to get the result you're promising. Most coaches miss this completely. They build beautiful courses, launch with great copy, run solid ads. Then they wonder why nobody's buying when everything looks right. Because certainty isn't about the offer. It's about three specific things your audience needs to feel before they click enroll. Get these three elements aligned and watch what happens: programs fill up, conversions increase, people stop questioning whether to buy and start asking when they can start. What you'll learn: → What people are actually buying (it's not what you think) → Personal Certainty - Why your transformation story matters more than your credentials → Process Certainty - How to show the exact path people will take to get results → Proof Certainty - Why testimonials and case studies convert better than claims → How to tell your conversion story in a way that builds all three levels of certainty → The framework for crafting an offer that sells itself → Why missing one of these elements kills your conversions Discover how to authentically connect with your audience & fill your programs with a Conversion Story - Version 2.0 (AI Edition) is now available. https://www.conversionstoryformula.com Hit the "Follow" button so you don't miss an episode! Most people think the fear of public speaking means you're not cut out for it. But that couldn't be further from the truth. In this episode of The Expert Edge, Colin gets real about one of the most universal fears out there - speaking in front of people. Whether it's a live audience, a Zoom room, or a podcast mic, that nervous energy you feel before sharing your message isn't a flaw - it's a signal. Colin shares personal stories (including a shaky Bible reading in front of his classmates at 13) and practical strategies for turning fear into focus so you can show up with confidence and presence every time you speak. You'll learn: Why focusing on service dissolves fear - and how shifting attention from yourself to your audience instantly builds confidence. How to be truly present - the simple grounding practice Colin uses to stay calm and connected on stage. The one question that rewires your brain mid-panic - transforming anxiety into energy that drives performance instead of derailing it. If you've ever dreamed of commanding a stage or delivering your message with clarity and conviction - but your nerves keep hijacking the mic - this episode will help you finally take your power back. We're halfway through 2026. And if you're anything like most coaches, you're either crushing it or wondering where the year went. AI threw a wrench into everyone's business. New tools drop every week. Everyone's convinced they're behind. But here's the truth nobody wants to hear: that's all white noise. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the two fundamental shifts that actually separate the winners from everyone else. These aren't about the latest AI hack or marketing angle or conversion optimization. They're about understanding what your clients actually want and whether you can rebound when you fail. What you'll learn: → Stop selling information, start selling transformation - Why information is becoming worthless and what replaces it → Transformation comes from three currencies - Commitment (money, time, energy), community (people at the next level), and coaching (real human feedback) → Your internal work is your external advantage - Why becoming the version your prospects want to be matters more than any hook or angle → Emotional rebound is a learnable skill - The three Ps framework for getting back up after you've been knocked down → Doing the uncomfortable thing is the only real competitive advantage - Why every successful person shares this one trait Real insights from the episode: Why I lost $1,500 on a presentation, then made $22,000 on the next one The woman with a massive following whose most attractive quality isn't her followers—it's her internal work Why information age is over and transformation age has begun How Verena went from $200K to over $1M in a year (and it wasn't about tactics) The three Ps: it's not personal, not permanent, not pervasive (the framework that resets you) Why cheaper programs create lower commitment (and how raising price actually increases transformation) The difference between lying on the floor after a setback vs getting back up How to build offers that include commitment, community, and coaching Why the uncomfortable thing eventually becomes comfortable (then you level up again) —----------------------------------- If you're running an established expert business doing $300K+ (or aiming there), Platinum is our highest-level mastermind. You've built something amazing. Your coaching business is thriving. Your courses are selling. You're helping people transform their lives. But if you're honest, something feels disconnected. You're making great money and still stressed about cash flow. You're charging premium prices and somehow still have consumer debt. You're building a thriving business while your own life feels scattered and out of alignment. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I sit down with Erin Skye Kelly, who went from $2.1M in debt in her twenties to building a seven-figure business helping thousands of women-especially six-figure earners-break the cycle and build genuine wealth. Here's the insight that changed everything for her (and can for you): making money and building wealth are two completely different games. And the gap between them isn't another strategy or funnel. It's about the promises you make to yourself and whether you actually keep them. What you'll learn: → Integrity with yourself is the foundation - Why keeping promises to yourself matters more than any business tactic → Debt isn't the problem-it's a symptom - The mindset patterns that created the debt (and how to shift them) → Six-figure earners become millionaires differently - Timeline, psychology, and strategy are completely different depending on your starting point → Community is the secret to scaling - Why hiring a community manager is crucial after you hit $1M → The role of overfunctioning in wealth sabotage - How you break promises to yourself in business the same way you do in life Real insights from the episode: Erin's journey from $2.1M in debt to seven figures (and what changed) Why she rebranded from just "Get Out of Debt" to serving six-figure earners becoming millionaires The difference between a person with negative net worth and a six-figure earner with debt How long it takes to become a millionaire depending on your starting point (3-5 years vs 8 years) Why working with Tony Robbins shaped her approach to coaching and events The importance of staying connected to your mission and your clients How to scale to $5-10M without losing the connection to what matters The role of a community manager in keeping the pulse of your business Why integrity with yourself shows up in every area of your life and business Connect with Erin at https://www.erinskyekelly.com/ You can find her book "Get the Hell Out of Debt," her podcast by the same name, and programs for both people getting out of debt and six-figure earners building real wealth. Your bank account just sent you a distress signal. Not because you don't have a good offer. Not because people don't like you. It's because you're doing everything except the one thing that brings money in the door: selling. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down 3 fast-action strategies to create real revenue in 48 hours-without burnout, without icky sales tactics, without waiting for the universe to align. Here's the brutal truth: the gap between "I have a great program" and "I made $5K this week" isn't about better marketing or a prettier sales page. It's about shifting into sales mode. And it doesn't take 90 days. It works this week. I've used these strategies to generate cash quickly throughout my 17+ years building my business. They're not long-term scaling tactics. They're short-term power moves that remind you that you're a salesperson first and a perfectionist second. What you'll learn: → Get into sales mode - Why "rearranging business cards" isn't selling (and how to actually shift into sales energy) → Pick the low-hanging fruit - Your Stripe dashboard is a goldmine of past clients ready to buy again (and why internal is faster than external) → Take off the reins - Why scrappy, messy, real beats polished and perfect when you need cash fast → The distinctions between "thinking" you're selling and actually being in sales mode → Why your to-do list is probably full of distractions that aren't making you money → How to reconnect with past clients without feeling pushy or salesy → The power of the messy Zoom session, the DM convo, the test-it-now offer → Why perfectionism is the enemy of cash flow → How to ride your business "bareback" - real, messy, and ready to serve Real insights from the episode: The difference between activity and sales (most coaches do lots of one, none of the other) Why your past clients are your fastest path to revenue The psychology of asking for the sale vs hoping for the sale How to shift from "building" mode to "selling" mode in 24 hours Why the scrappy approach often converts better than the polished funnel The client who's been waiting for you to make another offer (and you don't even know it) How to use your existing relationships to generate immediate cash Why waiting for your "perfect funnel" is costing you thousands The real reason most experts aren't making money (it's not the offer) If you're running an established expert business doing $300K+ (or aiming there), Platinum is our highest-level mastermind. Same presentation. Same offer. Same you. $91,000 in sales. Two weeks later with a different audience? $4,000. In this solo episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the insight that separates six-figure coaches from seven-figure coaches: the price you charge is based less on what you do and more on who you serve. This isn't about changing your offer or tweaking your funnel. It's about understanding that a psychologist charging per hour makes $250-$350. The same person doing emotional release work with an upleveled avatar charges $50K per package. Same work. Different avatar. 100X different price. Most coaches obsess over their product. "How do I improve my course?" "What sales funnel works better?" They're focused on the wrong thing. The real leverage is identifying your upleveled avatar and understanding what problems they actually have. What you'll learn: → Price is determined by who you serve, not what you offer - Two people doing identical work charging 10X different prices based on avatar → Higher level avatars have higher level problems - Beginners ask "What's a lead magnet?" High-level clients ask "How do I own market leadership?" (premium problems = premium prices) → Beginners require volume, premium clients don't - One $50K client is easier to work with than ten $5K clients and takes action faster → Different avatars have different desires - Beginners want their first $10K. Upleveled avatars want market leadership and multi-six to seven-figure businesses → Why resourcefulness is the real differentiator - Beginners are less resourceful because they haven't developed the internal mechanisms to push through hard things Real insights from the episode: The $91K vs $4K story - same presentation, same offer, different audience, wildly different results Why beginners are "stuck" - they're still dealing with foundational problems (foundational problems don't pay premium prices) The woman in my Platinum group who left a "high-level" program because everyone was asking basic questions like "What's a lead magnet?" Why you shouldn't focus only on the lowest common denominator (beginners) The emotional release work example: $250-$350/hour as a psychologist vs $50K packages with upleveled avatar Higher level problems: team problems, profitability problems, scaling problems, system problems, market leadership The consistency difference: Beginners making $3K one month and $20K the next (chaos). Premium clients with stable recurring revenue Why premium clients are easier to work with - they're resourceful, know what they want, and take action How to identify what problems your upleveled avatar actually has Building specific products for different avatar levels (not everyone joins high-level programs) If you're running an established expert business doing $300K+ (or aiming there), Platinum is our highest-level mastermind. It's for people ready to build a highly profitable, 2-3 million dollar business with a small team, full lifestyle, and zero complexity. You're 15 minutes from the end of your presentation. And you're only halfway through your content. That sick feeling your audience has? That's not inspiration. That's overwhelm. In this solo episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the number one mistake speakers make when presenting to sell: over-teaching. You think you're giving value. Your audience thinks they just ate too much at an all-you-can-eat buffet and can't move. Here's the brutal truth: teaching more doesn't make people buy from you. It actually loses the sale. Most speakers don't realize the gap between what feels simple to them (because they're the expert) and what feels overwhelming to their audience (because they're experiencing it for the first time at your speed). This is the Expert's Dilemma. And it's costing you conversions. I walk through four core concepts that will transform how you structure your presentations: What you'll learn: → The Expert's Dilemma - Why what feels simple to you overwhelms your audience instantly → Stay above the Lose the Sale Line - The difference between concepts/stories (above) and tactics/how-tos (below) that kill conversions → Infusion selling beats content dumps - Why mixing speaking and selling together converts better than teaching for 45 minutes then selling for 5 → Balance the Brain - Mix left brain (logic, frameworks, stats) with right brain (stories, metaphors, emotions) for maximum impact → Why step-by-step tactics make people think they can do it alone (and leave your offer) Real insights from the episode: The all-you-can-eat buffet metaphor that explains exactly how your audience feels when you overteach How previous speakers going over time forced me to cut a 50-minute presentation by 20 minutes (and why this happens) Why being helpful + trying to prove credibility = recipe for over-teaching The imaginary "red line" that separates what sells from what loses the sale How confusion actually builds more credibility than complexity Why balance in your presentation design matters more than comprehensiveness The difference between a well-structured meal and the all-you-can-eat buffet experience How infusion selling lets your audience consume content without realizing you're selling Join our next Speak to Convert Masterclass. You built something successful. Maybe it's a course that sells. Maybe it's a coaching program. Maybe you're the expert on the speaking circuit. You're established. You're making good money. People know who you are. And something feels off. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I sit down with Dr. Larry Daugherty, a radiation oncologist who went from living his "dream career" at Mayo Clinic to realizing he was hollow inside. He made the radical pivot into his actual passion, monetized before it was perfect, and built a thriving community-based business that fulfills him. This conversation is for the established expert who's wondering if there's more to the game. Why your courses aren't selling like they used to. Why community beats information. And how to build a business around what actually matters to you. What you'll learn: → Monetize first, perfect later - Why action beats analysis every time (especially when you're already established) → Higher ticket clients are fundamentally different - The 6X difference in results when you serve premium clients who show up with commitment → Small cohorts demand ruthless selection - Why one person not taking action in a five-person group spreads like a disease (but goes unnoticed in larger groups) → Community is your moat now - Why information is commoditized and belonging is the new currency → The suppressed part of yourself - How successful experts often realize they've buried the part that actually comes alive Real insights from the episode: Larry's story: from Mayo Clinic dream job to feeling hollow inside despite everything he worked for The moment an advertisement for a dog sled race above the Arctic Circle changed his entire trajectory Why he pivoted from courses to building a premium community-based business How he went from $3.5K to $5K to $30K offerings by monetizing before perfecting Why higher ticket clients are easier to work with (and produce 6X better results) The mistake of filling seats instead of selecting carefully in small cohorts How AI has made courses commoditized (and what to do about it) The shift from selling information to selling belonging and community Why the highest level of success requires authenticity and vulnerability If you're an established coach, consultant, speaker, or course creator who's wondering if there's more to this game, Larry's story is for you. He went from a six-figure career to pivoting into community-based business that actually fulfills him. Check out his work at thefreedomphysician.com to see how he applied these principles. The frameworks work across industries: monetize first, build community, and scale through belonging instead of information. Join our next Speak to Convert Masterclass. You look at your bank account and you're $5K to $12K short. Again. Last month you made $20K. This month? $4K. Next month? Who knows. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I break down how to build a scalable speaking sales machine that turns inconsistent chaos into predictable revenue. Most coaches think they need more strategies. More funnels. More content. More hustle. Wrong. You need one great presentation. One. That's it. Lindsay was a mum of a special needs son. She was scattered across Instagram, groups, collaborations. Exhausted. Inconsistent revenue. She built one presentation. Delivered it every week online. Went from $1-2K a week to $5K a week to $10K a week. Same presentation. Same offer. Just consistency. Now she does $30-40K months with the same deck. I walk through the exact three-part system that turns scattered sales into a scalable machine: creating a high-value offer, getting crystal clear on your messaging, and building one great presentation you deliver repeatedly. What you'll learn: → Start with a high-value offer - The five elements of value (saving time, making money, access to you, community, energy shift) → Get crystal clear on your messaging - "Professional women" vs "professional women in director roles who hold back in board meetings and miss promotions" → Build one great presentation - 90% of the sale happens before you mention the offer (and how I went from 5% to 34% conversion by changing content) → Move from scattered to scalable - Why consistency beats strategy every single time → Why you should sell group programs, not one-on-one through presentations - The best use of your time and leverage Real insights from the episode: Lindsay's story: from scattered $1-2K weeks to consistent $10K weeks with one presentation Why 90% of the selling happens before you even get to the offer The mistake most coaches make: trying multiple different programs instead of mastering one How the first three months of building this system is hard, but after that it becomes highly scalable Why trying many strategies keeps you inconsistent (and broke) The difference between a soft sell (book a call) and a sharp sell (direct offer) How changing your presentation content (not the offer) changed my conversion rate from 5% to 34% Why time becomes more valuable than money as you grow (and how your offer should reflect that) I'm running a six-week coaching cohort called Premium Private Clients. It's the exact system I've used for 17 years to make $300K-$500K a year from a handful of clients. I'm teaching how to attract them, build an audition funnel, convert at 90%, and design a program you actually enjoy. First cohort is 50% off. Countdown timers are dying. Not literally. They'll still work. But they're becoming the marketing equivalent of a used car salesman yelling "ACT NOW!" through a megaphone. In this solo episode of The Expert Edge, I break down the shift from dopamine marketing to oxytocin marketing. Ryan Levesque and Ron Reich call it the future of launches. I call it the only way to build a real moat around your business. Here's the thing: AI can write your emails now. It can create your sales pages. It can produce polished content faster than you can say "ChatGPT." So if you're competing on polish, you've already lost. But AI can't build trust. It can't share your scars. It can't send a shaky iPhone video from your car talking about the thing you've never shared publicly before. That's your moat. That's what separates you from the 10,000 other coaches saying the same thing with the same funnel and the same countdown timer. I walk through four strategies to build connection that actually converts. Not hype. Not urgency. Just real human trust that makes people want to work with you. What you'll learn: → Talk to one real customer (not a made-up avatar) - Stop describing demographics. Find Jack. Learn about Jenny. Build your webinar for real people, not "men aged 25-35" → Open the kimono (share the personal stuff you've been holding back) - Send a vulnerable video with no CTA on the last day of your launch. Just you sharing something real → Reveal the roughs (show the sketches, not just the polished product) - Hand-drawn frameworks, messy first drafts, visible stitching. The rough builds trust more than AI polish → Sprinkle some sweat (do the unscalable) - Personal Bonjoro videos, live onboarding calls, real emails. The unscalable is what makes you different Real insights from the episode: Why I still use real deadlines (Premium Private Clients starts June 1st) but don't lean on urgency as the main selling point The "single and ready to mingle" moment (and why playfulness creates oxytocin) How I send personal videos to new clients and why they say "I've never had the founder reach out like this" The vulnerable video strategy for closed cart day (no CTA, just connection) Why showing rough sketches and hand-drawn frameworks builds more trust than perfect AI-generated graphics How live coaching in my programs creates connection AI can't replicate The two types of people joining Premium Private Clients (established coaches adding $15-30K/month, newer coaches who struggled to sell courses) I'm running a six-week coaching cohort called Premium Private Clients. It's the exact system I've used for 17 years to make $300K-$500K a year from a handful of clients. I made $38,000 today. From one sale. One coaching client. A couple of sessions. Seven days ago, I told my Inner Circle group "I'm allowing another $50,000 to flow into my life this month." Not hoping. Not wishing. Allowing. Within seven days, it happened. In this solo episode of The Expert Edge, I break down how to attract high ticket clients. Not just close them. Attract them. Because when you shift internally, everything external shifts too. Before you roll your eyes and think this is manifesting woo-woo nonsense, let me be clear: this isn't about vision boards and hoping the universe delivers cash to your doorstep. It's about giving yourself permission to receive more money. And most coaches haven't done that yet. You've capped yourself. Maybe it's $5K a month. Maybe it's $20K. Maybe it's $100K a year. Whatever it is, you hit that number and your brain goes "Okay, that's enough. Let's not get greedy." The problem isn't your offer. It isn't your marketing. It isn't your funnel. It's that you haven't decided to allow more money to flow into your business. What you'll learn: → Allow yourself to receive more money - Pick a number that feels like a stretch but doable (not "I hope" but "this is a done deal") → Value outcomes, not features - Stop selling "six coaching sessions" and start selling financial freedom, time with family, emotional peace → Speak to elevated problems - "I need more clients" vs "I have clients but I'm burnt out" (the second person pays 10x more) → Design a program you actually enjoy - How I've made $300K-$500K a year for 17 years with just a few hours of coaching a month → Why mindset is a strategy (not just "mindset stuff") - You can have all the tactics in the world, but if your mindset isn't right, you won't give yourself permission to receive Real insights from the episode: How I made $38,000 in one day from a premium private client Why I choose numbers that feel easy (not lottery-level fantasy) when setting revenue goals The difference between "deserving" money and believing you deserve it How to pivot out of negative mindset throughout the day when refunds, upset clients, and challenges happen Why most coaches cap themselves at a certain income level without realizing it The exact process of living in the result before creating the result How to speak to higher level problems in your messaging to attract premium clients I'm running a six-week coaching cohort called Premium Private Clients. It's the exact system I've used for 17 years to make $300K-$500K a year from a handful of clients. Check out Gary's Why Discovery resource here: https://colinboyd.co/gary "Yeah, I'm a coach too." "Yeah, I'm a speaker too." You know what happens when you say that? Nothing. You blend in with everyone else who does what you do. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I sit down with Gary Sanchez, founder of The Why Institute, who's helped over 400,000 people discover their why. Gary spent 20 years becoming one of the best dentists in the world - state-of-the-art technology, premier training, top mentors, every certification you could get. And his practice kept getting smaller. He worked harder than anyone he knew and blended in with every other dentist who said "Yeah, I'm a dentist too." The problem wasn't his skills. It was that he didn't know what to say that separated him from everyone else. So he spent eight months with Simon Sinek discovering his why. Then he did what every great entrepreneur does: he found a better way. Now instead of taking eight months, Gary can help you discover your why in eight minutes. We dive deep into why your ideal clients are the ones who believe what you believe (but you have to say it first), how clarity on your why unlocks everything from messaging to marketing, and why winging it feels great until you realize nobody's buying. What you'll learn: → Your ideal clients believe what you believe - Gary's dental practice took off when he stopped talking about what he does (crowns, bridges, fillings) and started talking about why he does it → The younger you figure out who you are, the longer the runway - How Gary's buddy hit rock bottom at 22, figured out his why, and became one of the wealthiest guys in New Mexico → Winging it vs having frameworks - Why Gary could get standing ovations but no sales until he learned structure from Colin's Sell From Stage program → You know who you are when you can say it - Gary's why: to find a better way and share it (that's been his entire life through patents, inventions, and products) → How Gary went from dentist to helping 400,000+ people discover their why → Why "build a great product and people will come" is terrible advice that cost Gary 20 years Real insights from the episode: How Gary spent eight months with Simon Sinek working through his why (before creating a better, faster process) Why Gary's practice was getting smaller and more refined despite doing everything "right" The moment Gary realized he needed to articulate what he believes, not just what he does How Gary helped Colin discover his why (and why Colin's 19-step teeth routine makes him a dentist's dream and nightmare) Why your bad clients are the ones who don't believe what you believe The difference between knowing your why intellectually vs being able to say it clearly How frameworks give you confidence because you know what's going to happen in advance Check out Gary's Why Discovery resource here: https://colinboyd.co/gary Join our next Speak to Convert Masterclass. This week in the podcast, we interviewed the exceptional career coach and advisor Richa Bansal from Pink Careers. "I am lucky to have this job." That sentence just cost you $50,000. Maybe more. Here's what most coaches miss: the same mindset that keeps corporate professionals undervaluing themselves is the exact same mindset that keeps you undercharging for your programs. You think "I'm lucky they want to work with me" instead of "they're lucky to work with me." You put potential clients on a pedestal. You make yourself feel small. You negotiate from scarcity instead of abundance. And then you wonder why you can't charge what you're worth. In this episode of The Expert Edge, I sit down with Richa Bansal, founder of Pink Careers, who's built a seven-figure business teaching women how to step into leadership roles and get paid what they're worth. Richa breaks down the exact mindset shifts that unlock everything from career moves to sales conversations to scaling your business. We talk about why mindset is a strategy (not just a nice-to-have), how to fight for the prospect instead of just closing the sale, and what it takes to scale past seven figures when you've been a successful solopreneur with great margins. What you'll learn: → The biggest mindset shift: From "I'm lucky to have this" to "They're lucky to have me" (and how this shift changes everything from negotiations to pricing) → Why mindset is a strategy - You can't tactics your way out of believing you're not good enough → Richa's sales philosophy: Fight for the prospect's future, not just for the sale (when you care more about transformation than commission, sales becomes service) → How to scale past seven figures without losing profit margins or service quality (and why growth means letting go of control) → Why women (and many coaches) put clients on a pedestal and make themselves feel small (and how that creates imposter syndrome) → The continuum from passive to arrogant (and why women almost never overshoot into arrogance when making this shift) Links Richa refers to on the episode: Her Career Masterclass link: https://rise.pinkcareers.com/rp-masterclass-live Connect directly with Richa on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/richabansal10/ Real insights from the episode: How Richa went from senior leadership at Amazon to building Pink Careers and crossing seven figures Why she was almost always the only woman in leadership roles (oil and gas, Amazon's operational leadership) The mission to help one million women step into leadership roles and close the gender gap in the C-suite Why "always be the buyer" is one of the most powerful sales mindsets you can adopt How Richa runs the largest women's leadership program across the federal government of Canada The tactical, no-fluff approach that gets clients 30%, 40%, sometimes 50% pay increases Why your internal purpose shifts once you cross a certain revenue threshold Join our next Speak to Convert Masterclass.
