    Aug 19, 202627 min

Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: Discussion on 7 VERY important categories and the Levels of Concern Heading into a New NHL Season for the Philadelphia Flyers. LEVEL OF CONCERN: 2 Start of season for Travis Konecny LEVEL OF CONCERN: 7 ATOI for Travis Sanheim reasoning if they are going to return to the playoffs and level up they have to somewhat monitor his usage in season but not to a detrimental cost in standings points. Sanheim just flat out means that much to the team, perhaps more than any other individual player. LEVEL OF CONCERN: 4 Strength of the Goaltending Vlader ranked 8th by NHL Network last 3: 33 avg gp...99 total Woll last 3: 34 avg gp...102 total Kolosov has 21 games in the NHL LEVEL OF CONCERN: 5 Martone in first full season LEVEL OF CONCERN: 11 Power Play LEVEL OF CONCERN: 8 Defensive corp overall Risto here and healthy variable, Jiricek??? Bonk ready or close to? Ty Murchison adds an element of hmmm. Maybe Mcdonald also. Benoit? LEVEL OF CONCERN: 7 Last seasons injuries to both Foerster and Tippett

  14. Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 8-17-2026 Bill Meltzer from Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus, opens in a new tab

    Aug 17, 202637 min

Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: We drop the puck on another offseason week of Flyers hockey with Bill Meltzer and discuss the following topics and volley our opinions back on forth: Who is the center for Matvei Michkov? Assuming Zegras is playing the center position also. Assuming a solid training camp is David Jiricek essentially a D man that plays at least 74 games? Could Hunter McDonald put the Flyers to the test for the third pair left side with Seeler? I’m not sure how much of a shock it will be for some but I think Denver Barkey eclipses 52 pts. Too big of an ask on my end? Flyers game up the 9th fewest goals per game against last season despite Januarys woes. Odd part is they were the 4th lowest goals against team in the metro. Scoring first. For them to go back to the playoffs they have got to score first with much more frequency than last season. You don’t dodge that bullet two seasons in a row.

  15. Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 8-14-2026 Barkey, Tippett, Cates and Bump interviews from Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus, opens in a new tab

    Aug 14, 202619 min

  16. Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 8-10-2026 Flyers Fact or Fiction with Bill Meltzer from Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus, opens in a new tab

    Aug 10, 202631 min

Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: As a new Hockey season inches closer and closer we have a fun prognostic conversation of Flyers Fact or Fiction with Bill Meltzer. 8 Flyers Fact or Fiction scenarios for the upcoming season -Flyers allowed 239 goals last season, 9th fewest in the NHL. They will actually allow more total goals this coming season but to less regulation detriment and be forced to OT less often as a result -conversely they scored 240 goals last season, 21st in the NHL. They will add 20+ total goals scored this season. Plus 2 more games this season -The Flyers ended last season overall with the 22nd ranked PK despite being 9th in goals allowed. Earlier I said they will allow more goals overall. But it won’t be allowing more goals against on the PK. They will finish top 12 on the PK -Flyers had 6 OT wins. Not counting shootout wins here. They will avoid the shootout by adding 3 or more wins in actual OT? -Flyers were 4th in the NHL at shot suppression averaging 25.5 shots against per game. They will allow a higher of volume of shots against this season incurring the risk to drive more offense off the rush -if/when the Flyers power play gets off to a slow start, lord we hope not, Rick Tocchet will move to a 5 forward approach -The Flyers regular season MVP will not be Travis Konecny or Dan Vlader, 2 Konecny and 1 Vlader over the past 3 seasons and will be a player that has never won the award. So remove Couturier who won 3 straight from The 18/19 season to the 20-21 season -Sanheim however will win the Barry Ashbee Trophy as the teams top defensemen after 3 straight wins and 4 of the last 5 seasons. Provorov won in 22-23. And was promptly traded that offseason
