If you've ever sat in a doctor's office, struggling with symptoms, only to be told your labs look perfectly fine, you're not alone. Who do you trust when your body tells you something is wrong, but on paper it says you're "within a normal range"? In this episode, Jim LaValle, RPh, CCN, discusses the frustrating disconnect between feeling "off" and having "normal" lab results. In a traditional medical setting, "normal" often means you don't have a disease yet, which means it may be necessary to take a more comprehensive look to understand the direction your health is trending. It also means you can't ignore your symptoms. LaValle shares the potential of a preventive approach to change your trajectory and the value of understanding your lab patterns over time. Endurance training isn't just for runners. In this episode, trainer and strength coach Mike Thomson discusses why building your cardiovascular capacity matters for your overall health and longevity. He shares why balancing strength training and endurance work makes you a better, more resilient mover; the reasons the combination of those two modalities — known as hybrid training — is a trend that's here to stay; how to use your heart-rate zones to train smarter; and how simple recovery habits lay the groundwork for real progress. He also emphasizes the importance of setting benchmarks personalized to you to ensure you're progressing toward your goals. Whatever your pace, there's a way to train for better endurance. PMOS, or polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, is a condition that's estimated to affect 1 in 8 women worldwide. Until recently, it was known as PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome. In this episode, Jim LaValle RPh, CCN, unpacks this name change and why it matters, and he offers advice for managing and treating the condition through a whole-body approach. We often expect our bodies to "bounce back" after having a baby. This unrealistic pressure ignores the beautiful and challenging realities of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. In this episode, Ashley Thomas, a fitness instructor at Life Time and mother of three, talks about how we can view and care for our bodies after having children. Many of us try to fit our unique nutrition needs into generic, one-size-fits-all diet plans: We follow the rules, hoping the habits stick, but eventually, the momentum fades. Preventive medicine flips the script on how we usually handle our healthcare: Instead of waiting until something breaks, you catch issues earlier, when they're easier to address. In this episode, Rahul Iyengar, MD, explains why our current "sick care" system tends to wait for symptoms before stepping in — and what a more proactive model looks like. He also shares why relationship-based care that gives providers more time with patients tends to lead to better outcomes, and how lasting health comes from sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. He offers a clear, practical look at taking charge of your health on your own terms. In this episode, we're speaking with Devon Price and Brandon Dyksterhouse of Kenetik to break down the science of ketones and how they support mental clarity, metabolic flexibility, and long-term resilience. Women make up a staggering two-thirds of all Alzheimer's disease cases, yet the conversation and research around aging and brain health often leaves them out. In this episode, Louisa Nicola, MMed, PhD, breaks down why this disease disproportionately affects women and reveals that the underlying cognitive changes can actually begin decades before a diagnosis, often starting in our 30s and 40s. Rather than viewing cognitive decline as a foregone conclusion, though, Nicola explains that up to 95 percent of cases are heavily influenced by lifestyle rather than strictly genetics, meaning the opportunity for prevention is in your hands. She explains how to make sensible daily adjustments to support your long-term brain health. You do not need another trend to follow — you need a plan that makes sense for your unique physiology and lifestyle. In this episode, Anika Christ, RD, explores how Dynamic Nutrition Coaching cuts through the noise with science-backed, personalized guidance. Nutritional needs change naturally throughout different life stages, and a dynamic approach recognizes this. Christ also bridges the gap between knowing what is healthy and implementing it as a habit, so you can make sustainable changes for the long term.
