    Sep 9, 202641 min

  3. Once more unto the breach....

    Sep 3, 202631 min

Week 17 was very much an on/off affair, so it all comes down to Week 18. Three divisions are either all done and dusted in terms of promotion/relegation, but five most definitely are not. Two sides could win the Prem, one of two will be joining Twickenham in Div 1. Sal and Dan talk through all the various permutations out there. Learn more about your ad choices. 4. Prem title race wide open

    Aug 28, 202648 min

The most open premier league title race in years is coming to a fascinating conclusion. Four teams very much in the hunt. Plus, who will join Twickenham in going down? One of five could slip through the trap door. Sal and Dan talk through all the ramifications. Plus, Dan’s been (checks notes) karaoking…. Learn more about your ad choices. 5. Metro Bank Finals, League Drama and (checks notes) weddings....

    Aug 19, 202653 min

The weather is warm and the cricket is hotting up nicely, too. Middlesex reach their first List A final since 1990, Sal and Dan discuss umpires as clothes horses and heard the one about a player finding a wife whilst on the field? If not, listen in.... 6. Crouch End ease away.....

    Aug 11, 202649 min

Crouch End win the battle at the top of the Prem as Ealing slip into the relegation zone. Harrow and Eastcote play out a draw in Div 1; Bessborough continue to look good in Div 2. And, does the weather impact player behaviour? Sal and Dan try to think that one through. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  7. Weekend to remember for Shay Boo

    Aug 4, 20261 hr 1 min

Shepherd's Bush v Teddington is rapidly becoming the MCCL's version of the Rocky films. Minus the Cold War politics. And Clubber Lang. No one really needs Clubber Lang. Anyway..... their fourth meeting of the season was in the QF of the National, and the Bush came through. Sal and Dan talk through all that was going on there. Plus, Stanmore slip into the bottom two, Harrow and Eastcote now looking more nailed on for promotion than ever. And, are you out if a part of your helmet falls off and hits the stumps? Listen in and you'll find out. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  8. Teddington nudge back ahead

    Jul 24, 202652 min

There was more topsy-turviness across the MCCL as a number of the top sides slipped up. Crouch End's sojourn at the top of the Prem lasted just the week, Harrow Town slip up in Div 3, as do London Sportif in Div 4. Ally Pally subsequently rise to the top of an MCCL division for the first time in a fair old while. Elsewhere, what do you do when a fielder inadvertently wipes out the 'keeper? Sal explains..... 9. Prem title race hots up

    Jul 15, 202643 min

There is a new leader in the Prem. Teddington slip up, Crouch End pounce. In a day where top sides didn't have it all their own way, neither Harrow nor Eastcote win in Div 1 whilst Harrow Town slip on a banana skin in Div 2. Plus, no one out-gunned Tower Hamlets in Div 7. And, two MCCL sides move in to the quarter-finals of the National.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  10. Half-way there

    Jul 7, 202647 min

The MCCL has reached its half-way point. Time for Sal and Dan to begin taking stock.....and that despite the horrendous weekends that their respective sides enjoyed. Game of the weekend involved Bessborough and Kenton in Div 2, although Desperadoes v Actonians in Div 5 wasn't far behind. Do tune in for the full lowdown. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  11. Hold your horses

    Jul 3, 202649 min

If your side was top of one of the divisions of the MCCL going into Week 8 then there was a fair chance that results when against you on Saturday. Teddington, Harrow and Ealing Trailfinders all slipped up as things concertinaed together. Plus, heard the one about the dog nicking the match ball and racing off with it..... listen in and you'll hear more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  12. Through the pain barrier.

    Jun 23, 202654 min

Last summer Chris Woakes famously went out to bat against India with a dislocated shoulder. Enfield's Harry Wilkins can now officially say "Woakesy, hold my beer". Broken bones didn't prevent Wilkins from going out to bat one-handed in dramatic run chase against Bessborough on Saturday. Harry joins Sal and Dan to talk us through the day's events. Elsewhere, Teddington are held by Finchley, Harrow keep plugging along. And, Tentelow are - finally - off the mark in Div 7. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  13. Low scoring drama

    Jun 18, 202649 min

Sometimes the best games of cricket aren't ones where the ball is smashed everywhere. Week 6 in the MCCL is a great example of that. Twickenham pull off a miracle and win with only 78 on the board, West Harrow (somehow) nearly defend 39 against Enfield. Harrow Town win despite posting only 106, Ally Pally just about chase 101. Low scores, high drama was very much the order of the day. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  14. Rain-dodging season

    Jun 10, 202631 min

Just five 1st XI games managed to beat the weather on 6 June. One was in Div 7, two in Div 6, one in Div 4 and Twickenham v Stanmore in the Prem. And, Twickenham will be much the happier; by virtue of our old friend Vera Duckworth and her sums, they got home and with that their first ten points of the season. Plus, how bad exactly was that Test Match track and what's it like being an umpire on a rainy day? Spoiler. Not much fun.... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  15. Lots of runs, lots of tight finishes. MCCL week 4

    Jun 3, 202657 min

Ealing and Teddington both continue to be unbeaten in the top flight, Harrow are marching on in Div 1. North London nearly shock Eastcote, South Hampstead and Chiswick indulge in a run fest. And heard the one about the square being occupied prompting the match to be called off? Listen in for more.... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  16. Ealing and Teddington march on....

    May 25, 202659 min

The premier division league table is taking shape, but not perhaps in the way many anticipated. Ealing are flying, North Midd and Shay Boo are - on the face of it at least - struggling. Elsewhere, unpredictability never seems to be far away. That's most obviously the case with Tentelow in Div 7; beaten by Gautum Buddha on Saturday, facing Shepherd's Bush in the last 16 of the T20 on Monday. They couldn't, could they....? 17. A premier division full of surprises

    May 20, 202642 min

Rain tries to ruin things, but Hornsey, Stanmore and Finchley all dodge the showers to pull off wins against fancied opponents. The Prem really does continue to surprise. Harrow post a statement win in Div 1, Bessborough move seven clear in Div 2. And, Ealing Three Bridges finally lose..... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  18. New season, same old drama

    May 12, 202650 min

Runs were generally the order of the day in Week 1 of the MCCL. Crouch End went (very) big, as did Highgate, Brentham and Isleworthians. Teddington win the battle of the title hopefuls in Bushy Park, Hampstead hit the ground running in Div 1. Plus, Wembley's Junayd Azar makes an immediate impact, and Swamibapa - just about - start off with a win. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  19. Prediction Pod

    May 4, 202643 min

The MCCL season starts on Saturday 9 May. That can only mean one thing; it's time for Sal and Dan to do their prediction podcast. Will The Midd be able to defend their title? Will Hampstead bounce back? How will promoted sides such as Harrow, Bessborough and Ealing Three Bridges get on? The duo reveal all. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  20. Out of the Ashes into the Middlesex Cup/Trophy

    Jan 13, 202635 min

Sal and Dan try to work out what on earth went wrong Down Under before looking to the future. The guys make the draws for the first round of the Middlesex Cup and the preliminary round of the Middlesex Trophy. They also look at some of the new names in the league as well as the four sides who'll be starting 2026 with minus points to their name. Learn more about your ad choices.
