  1. Hearing Prabhupada - The Red Book from Hearing Prabhupada, opens in a new tab

    Sep 2, 20191 hr 34 min

Hearing Prabhupada is a new podcast series where we insert spoken transcriptions along side of Srila Prabhupdada's lectures. In our current world with all technology and all of Prabhupada's works and lectures available online, I am still confronted with newer devotees who struggle with Srila Prabhupada's lectures. Many people who English is a second language or are new to the Krishna jargon and lecture format have told me that they don’t understand much of what Prabhupada is saying so they don’t go to his lectures for spiritual direction. So as a humble offering we are presenting a podcast series of some of Srila Prabhupada's early recordings with spoken transcriptions. The second lecture in this series is from the Caitanya Caritamrita given by Srila Prabhupada on Nov. 27, 1966 at 26 2nd ave, in the lower east side of New York City. It was now four months since he had begun ISKCON at 26 Second Avenue. he had held three separate initiations and initiated nineteen devotees. most of them had become serious, although a few remained casual visitors. now, in the morning classes, Swamiji wanted to instruct them more about how to become devotees. This is the earliest recording of Srila Prabhupada speaking on the Caitanya Caritamrita.

Hearing Prabhupada is a new podcast series where we insert spoken transcriptions along side of Srila Prabhupada's lectures. In our current world with amazing technology and all of Prabhupada's works and lectures available online, I am still confronted with newer devotees who struggle with Srila Prabhupada's accent. Many people who do not speak English natively or are new to the Krishna jargon and lecture format have told me that they don’t understand much of what Srila Prabhupada is saying so they don’t go to his lectures for spiritual direction. So as a humble offering, we are presenting a podcast series of some of Srila Prabhupada's early recordings with spoken transcriptions. Our first lecture transcription is on the bhagavad gita chapter 2 text 11, spoken on March 4, 1966 in New York City. Link to audio and transcription
