Is it lucky girl syndrome, or just listening to my intuition? This week on the podcast, we’re talking about what happens when you learn your own intuitive language and actually use it in your everyday life. Your intuition isn’t only for the big, life-changing moments. I use mine when I’m booking a flight, making plans, deciding what time to leave, figuring out if I need a backup plan, and even when I’m trying to catch a ferry. I’m sharing a story about catching the ferry twice when, logically, it looked like we probably weren’t going to make it. Both times, I kept checking in with myself. Should I be worried? Should I make a backup plan? Should I be feeling anxious about this? But every time I checked in, I still didn’t have a bad feeling. And both times, we made it onto the ferry as one of the last few cars. The same thing happened when WestJet went on strike. Everything around me was giving me a reason to worry, but internally, I felt like my flight was going to be fine. I had this knowing that I was going to go to sleep, wake up, and the strike would be over. And it was. Then there was the flight I needed to book. I knew that when I saw the right flight, I would know. I saw it, I got the feeling, and I booked it. Easy. Fast. Done. This is why learning your own intuition matters. What is your yes? What is your no? What does a red light feel like? What does a green light feel like? What does pause, slow down, or wait feel like for you? We all have this ability, but you have to learn your own manual. And of course, we have a follow-up to last week’s episode. First, my doorbell was aggressively ringing when this same friend came over. This time? The fire alarm decided to join the conversation. The more I listen to my intuition, the easier and faster I can move through decisions because I know what I’m looking for and, more importantly, what I’m feeling. So, is it lucky girl syndrome? What happens when your intuition is wrong, and is being wrong actually the worst thing that can happen? I have a story for you that started when my friend was coming over for dinner at 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm, my doorbell rang, so I yelled “come in!” from the kitchen and kept doing what I was doing, except no one came in. When I went to check the door, no one was there, so I went back to the kitchen and a few moments later the doorbell rang again, but once again, no one was there. Then things got weird because my doorbell started ringing over and over again, aggressively, for almost an entire minute, and yes, I have the video, so you can go watch the whole thing happen on Instagram. When my friend finally arrived, we immediately started trying to figure out what had just happened. Was it spirit trying to get my attention, was it someone coming through for my friend, was it someone for me, or was August 11th an important anniversary that I was supposed to recognize? Then another thought popped into my head. Was someone passing away and coming to say goodbye? That thought sent me into calling my family, putting everyone on high alert, and trying to figure out what my intuition was actually telling me. Was my intuition right, was I picking up on something that was actually happening, or was I completely wrong about the entire thing? This week's episode is about why trusting your intuition is worth it, even when there is a chance you might be wrong. What is actually the worst-case scenario of following your intuition and getting it wrong, and how does that compare to the worst-case scenario of getting an intuitive hit, ignoring it, and finding out later that you should have listened? Happy 7th birthday to The Medium in the Middle Podcast! Seven years ago, this podcast started with one simple idea: I had so many crazy spirit stories, and I was tired of repeating them. So I decided I had to record them. In this special birthday episode, we're going all the way back to the beginning in 2019. I'm talking about the first three episodes, why I started the podcast, how much has changed over the last seven years, and why I will always recommend starting before you feel ready. What began as a place to document my own experiences has grown into something so much bigger. The purpose of The Medium in the Middle Podcast has always been to help you feel less alone in your spiritual development journey, teach you to trust yourself, save you time and money along the way, and give you a place to come whenever you need answers. In this episode, I am filling in some of the blanks from last week's episode #312, and sharing more information to provide clarity around the story of Voldemort. I intentionally kept parts of that story vague, but after sharing it, I knew there were more pieces that needed to be explained. This episode helps connect some of the dots before moving into the next part of the story. I also share about a psychic reading I received in August, 2025. If you want the full backstory of how we even got to this point, go back and listen to episode #276 'A Psychic Told Me To Talk To You' first. In this episode, I talk about the two psychic readings I received, why I decided to go back for a second reading, and all of the things that came through that were so accurate. I also share the things that were completely incorrect, the information that threw me for a loop, and the experience of sitting with information that doesn't always make sense. I talk about the interesting relationship we can have with wanting to know the future. Some people love going to psychics because they want answers and insight, while other people would rather not know what is coming. I share my own experience with being someone who wanted clarity, but also had to process what it felt like to receive certain information. There were also many things from the readings that confirmed information I already knew, which brought up even more questions around intuition, timing, and how we interpret the messages we receive. This is an episode I never thought I would record and have avoided sharing for years. This story began over five years ago, and for a long time I have kept it to myself. I have a list in my phone with over 28 different stories, experiences, and moments. In this episode, I am sharing only two of them. I have to share this part of the story because it is important and relevant to next week's episode, but I also have to keep certain details vague for a reason. For years, I have questioned these experiences. Is this intuition? Is this manifesting? Am I creating this? Am I just seeing patterns? Am I crazy? What are the odds that something like this could happen over and over again, 28+ times throughout the years? I don't have all the answers. But I do know that I have had enough experiences to know that I needed to talk about them. I am sharing this episode because I know there are other people who have had experiences they cannot explain. Moments where their intuition was so loud, or where something happened that made them question what was possible. My hope is that by sharing this, even with the pieces I cannot share, someone else feels a little less alone. This is the story I never wanted to tell, but here we go... On June 9, 2020, I launched The Medium in the Middle website. Six years later, I want to look back and share the story of how I got here. In this episode, I take you back to 2018 and share the journey that eventually led to the launch of The Medium in the Middle. I talk about taking my first Reiki course, leaving my job, and traveling to Costa Rica to complete my yoga teacher training. I share what it was like to return home without a job, visit Banff for the first time after moving away three years earlier, and realize that I needed to leave everything behind and move back to the mountains. After deciding I wanted to return to Banff, I couldn't find a job anywhere. It felt like every door was closed. Then, when I realized what was happening, things started falling into place. Within days, I found work, made the move, and began rebuilding my life in a place that I knew I needed to be in. Before The Medium in the Middle became my full-time career, I was working three jobs. I was serving in a restaurant, teaching yoga classes, and offering Reiki sessions while trying to figure out how to build a business from the ground up. When COVID happened, I lost my jobs and everything changed. People began asking for online readings, workshops, and classes, and I suddenly found myself trying to figure out how to take a business that had been built around in-person services and move it online. It took months of figuring it out before the website was finally ready to launch to the world. This episode is a reflection on the last six years of building The Medium in the Middle and the lessons I have learned along the way. If you've been thinking about starting something, whether it's a business, a new career path, or a dream you've been putting off, I hope this episode encourages you to take the first step. This is one of the most personal episodes I have ever recorded, and one I have avoided recording for an entire year. For the past year, every time I sat down to record this episode, I found a reason not to. Part of me wasn't ready to revisit one of the most difficult seasons of my life, and part of me wasn't sure how to put the experience into words or share the impact it had on me. In June 2025, after a trip to Ontario to visit family, my health took a sudden and drastic turn. What started as physical symptoms quickly escalated into my arms, hands, fingers, legs, knees, and joints no longer functioning properly, while my body blew up like a swollen balloon. For months, I struggled to do even the simplest everyday tasks, and I was forced to ask for help. What followed was a season that changed me completely. As someone who has always valued independence, I was forced to ask for help, slow down, and surrender to circumstances I could not control. Recovery took months, and much of that time was spent sitting on my porch, resting, reflecting, and trying to understand what my body was asking me to learn. I knew there was a lesson in all of it, and I wanted to understand every why. The lessons went far beyond my physical health. This experience was not only about my body. It brought emotional, energetic, and spiritual lessons to the surface, and I was forced to confront patterns, beliefs, and realities. In this episode, I share the story of what happened when my body shut down, why I have avoided talking about it for the past year, the impact it had on my life, and how it forced me to make changes that were in my best interest. This conversation is vulnerable, sensitive, and deeply personal. Although it has taken me a year to feel ready to share it, I know there is a reason this story is meant to be told. In this week's episode, we are talking all about channelling, the difference between channelling and being a channeller, and the common "symptoms" that many people experience before they even realize what is happening to them. I share my experiences working with channellers over the years, the patterns I continue to notice, and why discovering this label can sometimes help people finally make sense of experiences they have been having for years. While labels are not everything, they can help point you in the right direction and give you language for what you are experiencing so you can begin learning how to work with it instead of feeling overwhelmed by it. For many people, these experiences can feel chaotic, intense, and all consuming at first, almost like being caught in a tornado. But over time, with awareness, practice, and understanding, you begin to realize that you can work with the energy instead of being controlled by it. In this week's episode, I share the story of an intuitive nudge that changed my life in more ways than one. After not being able to eat dairy for eight years and gluten for eleven years, I received a quiet but persistent nudge to test my dairy allergy again. I had this feeling for about six months before I finally decided to listen and act on it. Before testing anything, I went to my doctor, saw an allergist, and did my own research about reintroducing dairy, because I did not trust this intuitive hit. Once I began testing, I started documenting everything in daily TikTok videos, tracking what I was eating and watching for any reactions. What began as a way to keep track of my experience turned into a daily practice of showing up online and becoming more comfortable with daily videos building confidence through consistency. Those daily videos eventually helped me become comfortable on TikTok, and a few months later I went viral, which significantly impacted my business and online presence. Looking back, I wonder what would have happened if I had listened to that initial nudge six months earlier, or even years before that moment when it first came through. This episode is about what happens when we do not listen the first time. It is about how we can make things more complicated than they need to be, and how intuition often arrives long before we are willing to act on it. It is a reminder that sometimes the smallest nudge is actually the beginning of something much bigger, and learning to listen the first time can save us time, energy, and unnecessary resistance. In this week's episode, I share the story of how one woman found me in the most unexpected way. From Australia, to Hawaii, to Canada, every step of her journey unfolded through intuition, trust, and listening to the pull she felt. After meeting a woman in Hawaii who guided her toward my podcast, she returned home to Australia, continued listening, and later found herself in Canada for a work trip. During that trip, she booked an in-person appointment with me, rented the car, followed the feeling, and eventually took her Reiki Level One course with me. She is a researcher, and a skeptic, but she listened and followed the nudges she was receiving. This episode is a reminder that the Universe often moves with us, but we have to be willing to take the first step first. Sometimes intuition is not loud or dramatic. Sometimes it sounds like, "I feel like I need to go into this store," "I think I need to call you," or "I don't know why, but I feel like I need to book this appointment." The next step is not always fully visible when you begin, but when you listen and take action, the path starts to unfold. If something keeps falling into your lap, showing up repeatedly, or pulling at you again and again, there is usually a reason for it. In this week's episode, I'm continuing the conversation from episode 305 and diving into a question I hear often: why do my Spirit Guides seem to give me the "wrong" information? In this week's episode, I share how Spirit Guides work with us, how I first became aware of my own guides, and the ways I receive information from them and my Higher Self. When I went mini-viral, I became sick and overwhelmed and was desperate for guidance. My guides simply told me to wait, and the information I needed came days later. This clear guidance was available to me because of the relationship I have built with my guides and Higher Self, and the trust developed over many years. I also talk about the difference between Spirit Guides and your Higher Self, introduce a few of the guides I work with, including Moe, Susan, and Karen, and explain why your guides are not here to give you answers, but to offer guidance and support. This is one of my most asked questions, and honestly, one of the episodes I have avoided making because of the hard truths that come with it. In this episode, I'm breaking down how to know when it's time to start charging for your spiritual practices and offerings. This is something so many people get stuck in. Either waiting too long or jumping in before they feel ready. There is a natural progression to this work, and I walk you through what that actually looks like along with my suggestions with how to move to paid services. We talk about building up to a one hour session, mastering the client experience, and developing confidence in what that hour holds to develop a polished service. From there, I get into the transition into paid services and what it really takes to feel comfortable charging for your work. Because the truth is, if you are not at that stage yet, you are not confident enough to be charging. I also share the signs that it might be time. When people start offering to pay you, referring others to you, or when you no longer want to continue offering sessions for free. This episode is part two of situations I don't know how to explain, and this experience raised even more questions for me than the first. Within the span of a few days, I walked into the same bar twice, and both times something happened that I had no awareness of in the moment. According to my friend, I was delivering mediumship messages to him from his mom who had passed as I was greeting him at the door. Two completely different messages, on two different nights. The part that gets me is that I didn't know I was doing it. I wasn't in a session, I wasn't trying to connect, I wasn't even talking about mediumship. I was just walking into a bar. I share what I remember from the situation and he shares what actually happened. It took him two years to tell me what he experienced, because it spooked him so much. And when he finally did, he told me I didn't seem like myself at all, like I had completely "blacked out" while I was speaking. I then returned to normal with a "I said hi, how are you?" not aware of what I had just said to him. This week's episode is one of the strangest experiences I've had in my work and something I'm still trying to fully understand. A client came in for a session and the moment I saw his name, I recognized it. When he arrived, I greeted him like I already knew him. It felt natural and familiar, like we had met before. I even asked him when I had last seen him. But, according to my system, he had no previous appointments, and when I asked him, he told me we had never met. That's when things took a turn. I couldn't snap out of it. For the entire hour session, it felt like I was remembering something that didn't actually happen. Not like typical déjà vu where something feels familiar for a moment, but like a full memory. I I knew why he was there, I knew details about his life, and when I shared what I was getting, his response was, "we've never met before". In this episode, I walk you through exactly what happened, what it felt like in my body, how it impacted the session, and the questions it has brought up for me since. This is part one of a series because this wasn't an isolated incident. There have been other experiences happening that I can't fully explain yet, and i'll be sharing more in part 2. In this episode, I'm celebrating episode 300 of the podcast and taking a moment to reflect on the journey that got me here. I share how this all began, from recording episode one of the first time I connected with spirit, and what this path has looked like behind the scenes over the years. This episode walks through the moments that shaped not only this podcast, but also my work and the way I show up today. It brought up more emotion than I expected and feels like a true full circle moment. I also share what I'm most proud of when I look back on reaching 300 episodes and everything it took to stay consistent, grow, and continue showing up on this podcast over the last almost 7 years. In the second half of the episode, I answer a series of questions submitted on Instagram. I speak into topics like whether the future is predetermined, how to tell the difference between intuitive information and your own thoughts, and the biggest tip I would give someone developing their mediumship. I also talk about what I personally see and experience in my work, including whether I see auras or anything connected to nature, and how Reiki supported the development of my mediumship. I answer questions around whether devices like an Apple Watch or Oura Ring affect energy work, whether spirit communication is always loving or can come from a place of ego or separation, and what it means when spirit begins to come through during Reiki sessions. I also share my process for energetically "turning off" when I'm in crowds, reference earlier podcast episodes (50 and 70) where I talk about the eggshell analogy, and speak to the idea of identifying what kind of intuitive or "woo-woo" person you might be. In this episode, I'm sharing a story from early in my career about a moment when I completely stuck my foot in my mouth while sharing psychic information. It happened during an Instagram Live when I said that I felt someone would be having a baby soon. What I meant by "soon" and what the person hearing it understood were two very different things. Months later, I received a very strongly worded email about how this message gave her false hope, as she was not yet pregnant. I learned a very important lesson from this that I will never forget. Timing is one of the most difficult parts of psychic information. Words like "soon" can mean very different things depending on who is hearing them and what expectations they attach to that word. In this episode, I talk about why timing can be so tricky in intuitive work and why I personally choose to be very careful when it comes to speaking about fertility or timelines. Experiences like this shaped how I approach my work today and taught me the importance of being thoughtful with the way intuitive information is delivered. I always want to share the good, the bad, and the ugly lessons I've learned over the years. And while the situation felt very uncomfortable at the time, it ultimately had a very happy ending. This episode was inspired by ordinary trip to the gym, but it quickly turned into a spirit trying to visit someone in class. I share a moment when someone asked me if I could feel her grandmother around her at the gym. Normally, I'm completely off and don't sense energy randomly. I also talk about why reading someone else's energy without consent is unethical. I share a story about a mother's energy that lingered around me at the gym for a week. It took me months to realize it was one of my friend's moms. This led to a deeper reflection on how, as adults, we rarely talk about our passed loved ones even when our friends are mediums. The realization came at a Christmas brunch while discussing family traditions, when I discovered two of my friends had lost their moms. The energy I had been feeling at the gym turned out to be one of their moms visiting. The synchronicity was uncanny, especially since we all go to the gym at the same time every day. In this episode, I share one of the most synchronistic client stories I have ever heard that shocked me! It began with a client simply hearing about Canada. Then she kept hearing about Banff. Then Reiki kept coming into conversation. One connection led to another until she found my podcast, or should I say my podcast found her. My episode randomly started playing in her car. Every step felt connected, intentional and mind blowing. I receive messages often from people sharing the unexpected ways they find my podcast, but this one truly shook me. The synchronicities were undeniable. This episode is a reminder that sometimes you do not find a podcast by accident. Sometimes it finds you. I believe that if you are here listening, you are here for a reason. Whether you are developing your intuition, stepping into Reiki, or deepening your spiritual path, you are not here randomly.
