In this week’s episode we conclude our three part journey through the seventeen stages of the heroes journey as laid out by Joseph Campbell in his seminal work “Hero with a Thousand Faces. ” In the free section of the show we discuss THE ULTIMATE BOON which we explore in its various manifestations including the traditional narcotic coded drink of the gods and heroes; soma . We also discuss the reluctance to return from the journey (looking at you Odysseus), the magick shapeshifting flight and the occasional need (plot twist) for the hero to be rescued from without. For a podcast that geeks out about symbolism; it doesn’t get much more bread and butter than this.
