  2. The Most Important Part of LinkedIn That You Need to Start With from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Sep 14, 202612 min

You can have the best LinkedIn strategy in the world, but if your profile isn't optimized, you're sending people to the wrong destination. Before you post more content, send more connection requests, or try to generate more leads, you need to start with the most important part of LinkedIn: Your profile. Think of your profile as your digital storefront. When someone lands there, they should immediately understand what you do, who you help, and why they should connect with you. Here are the four areas I recommend optimizing first: Your Background Banner Clearly communicate what you do and who you do it for. Don't waste this valuable space with a generic image. Your Headline Include specific keywords your ideal clients are searching for, along with a professional job title that establishes what you do. Your About Section Write it in the first person, include a clear mission statement, highlight 15 relevant business skills, and finish with a specific call to action. Your Featured Section Give people ways to take the next step offline. I use mine to feature my business website, our scorecard assessment as a lead magnet, and my LinkedIn newsletter, which includes clickable links that bring readers into my ecosystem. Your LinkedIn profile shouldn't just tell people who you are. It should show the right people how you can help them and what they should do next. 3. The #1 Speaker Coach In The World! from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Sep 10, 202614 min

About Mark: They call me the Event Maestro. Here's why that matters to you. Your last event was a success. Yet, you left a fortune on the table. The feedback was great. The room was full. And still — the mission didn't accelerate the way it could have. Not because the event failed. Because no one showed you what the room was actually capable of. For one brief window, you had your investors, donors, board members, team and community leaders in a single space. Most leaders use that moment to share updates and deepen connections. The “Event Maestro” uses that moment to activate these stakeholders. Investors who came to observe - write a big check. Donors who increase their giving without being asked. Board members who become more cooperative. Sponsors who witnessed your culture and expanded their commitment on the spot. That's not a better agenda. That's a gathering engineered to turn your mission into a movement. For 30 years, I've been in the business of turning audiences into believers — and believers into buyers. I've strategized 900+ events over three decades. I help Impact CEOs activate stakeholder engagement through immersive experiences that don't just captivate rooms — they move people to act, lead and invest. As Co-Founder of BigImpactHQ, my wife Shannon and I have trained over 3,000 leaders to harness the power of speaking and live events. Our "Speak Your Path to Cash" System has generated more than $150M in revenue for our clients and landed them on stages most people only dream about — Tony Robbins, TED Talks, CNN, The View, Brendan Burchard, Mama Gena, and more. Before BigImpactHQ, I spent years as a Senior Branding Strategist for Clear Channel, writing 1,100+ radio ads and campaigns for Porsche, Harley-Davidson, AFLAC, and Marriott. That background wired me to think in messages that cut through noise and land with precision. I've shared stages with Jack Canfield, Robert Kiyosaki, Les Brown, and others — not just because I'm a good speaker, but because I understand the science of influence and the art of transformation. My work sits at the intersection of conscious leadership, transformational influence, and the inner game of business success. I help companies live from their higher purpose, build conscious cultures, and follow the principles of Conscious Capitalism — because mission-driven businesses outperform, period. 4. How To Create More Engagement On LinkedIn & A New Feature from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Sep 7, 202614 min

LinkedIn engagement is changing, and simply getting more likes and comments isn’t the goal anymore. Some of LinkedIn’s latest updates are putting more emphasis on quality, credibility, and meaningful interaction. Comment impressions now show how much visibility your comments are creating. Generic comments like “Great post!” and “Couldn’t agree more!” aren’t enough. And when someone discovers you through a comment, your profile needs to prove your expertise through your content, recommendations, Featured section, newsletter, and results. The lesson? Don’t engage just to be seen. Engage to create conversations with the right people. Because visibility gets attention. Conversations create opportunities. Aug 31, 202612 min

Posting more content on LinkedIn doesn’t automatically lead to more business. The real question is, does your content have a purpose? In this week’s podcast episode, I’m breaking down The LinkedIn Content Growth Formula and three principles that can completely change how you approach your content: Every post needs a job: Grow, Trust, or Sell. Specific content beats generic content. And relevance matters more than follower count. You don’t need the biggest audience on LinkedIn. You need the right people paying attention. 8. LinkedIn's New AI Slop Feature from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Aug 24, 202613 min

LinkedIn just added a button that every content creator needs to know about. It’s being called the “AI Slop” button. And it sends a pretty clear message about where LinkedIn is heading. Users can now click the three dots on a post and select “Seems like AI slop” when content feels generic, low-quality, or overly AI-generated. But there’s more happening behind the scenes.LinkedIn has also removed its generative “enhance your post” writing tool and replaced it with a simpler proofreader designed to preserve your natural voice. Reports of AI slop aren't necessarily causing posts to be immediately removed or accounts to be banned. Instead, those reports can help LinkedIn improve the systems it uses to identify low-quality AI content. And accounts repeatedly identified by those systems may begin seeing private indicators within their analytics. This is something I have been saying for a long time: AI isn't the problem. Losing your voice because of AI is. Use AI to brainstorm. Use it to organize your thoughts. Use it to improve your writing. Use it to save time. But don't let AI turn you into another person posting the same generic content everyone else is posting. LinkedIn is built around human connection, and your content should still sound like it came from a human. 10. How To Turn LinkedIn Engagement Into Business Leads from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Aug 17, 202621 min

A post can get thousands of views, hundreds of likes, and dozens of comments…and still produce zero business. Because likes aren’t leads. The engagement that matters is the engagement that starts conversations with the right people. Instead of obsessing over impressions, start paying attention to: • Conversations started from your content • Profile views from your ideal clients • Quality of comments • People saying, “I’ve been following your content” • Calls booked from LinkedIn Your content shouldn’t just make people stop scrolling. It should make the right people think, “This person understands exactly what I’m dealing with.”And when someone leaves a meaningful comment, don’t pitch them. Start a conversation. Before your next post, ask yourself: Does this give my ideal client a reason to engage with me? Likes create visibility. Conversations create opportunities. 11. How High-Income Earners Can Legally Reduce Their Tax Bill by 25–50% from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Aug 13, 202630 min

What if you could legally reduce your tax bill by 25–50% and put more of your hard-earned money toward building wealth? In this episode of Networking and Marketing Made Simple , I sit down with Ethan from Exponential Freedom to discuss how high-income earners and business owners can use strategic tax planning to keep more of what they earn. Ethan shares his journey from traditional financial advising into the world of tax optimization and explains why finding the right CPA or tax attorney should often come before choosing a financial advisor. We also explore how having the right team of financial, tax, and legal experts working together can completely change your approach to wealth building. During our conversation, Ethan breaks down several tax strategies, including energy credits and battery investment programs, that may help qualified individuals reduce current tax liabilities, potentially recover past tax payments, and create additional opportunities for tax-advantaged growth. Most importantly, this conversation is about being proactive rather than simply accepting your tax bill as something you cannot control. Ethan explains how Exponential Freedom approaches tax planning legally and ethically while helping clients uncover opportunities they may not have known existed. We also talk about Ethan's definition of success: creating the freedom to achieve what you truly want out of life. If you're a high-income earner, entrepreneur, or business owner looking for smarter ways to approach taxes and wealth creation, this is an episode you'll want to hear. 14. How Coaches and Consultants Can Turn Their Connections Into Clients on LinkedIn from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Aug 3, 202619 min

One of the biggest mistakes we see coaches and consultants make on LinkedIn is believing they need to post more often to generate more clients. The truth is, posting more is not always the answer. If your positioning isn't clear, creating more content amplifies confusion. Before you worry about the algorithm, your posting schedule, or how often you should show up, take a close look at your LinkedIn headline. Your headline appears everywhere. It's seen in search results, connection requests, comments, your content, and at the top of your profile. It is often the first impression someone has of you. The problem is that most people use their headline as a job title."Business Coach.""Marketing Consultant.""Executive Coach."Those titles tell people what you are. They don't tell people why they should work with you. Instead, your headline should communicate who you help, the result you create, and the problem you help them avoid. A simple framework is:I help [specific audience] achieve [specific result] without [specific frustration]. That small change immediately makes your profile more compelling and helps the right people recognize you as the expert they've been looking for. As important as your headline is, it's only the beginning. Your headline gets attention. Your content builds trust. When those two pieces work together, everything else becomes easier. The path to attracting more clients is simple: Clear positioning leads to consistent content. Consistent content creates visibility. Visibility builds trust. Trust starts conversations. Conversations become clients. If your LinkedIn isn't producing the opportunities you want, don't assume you need to post more. Start by making sure your positioning is clear enough that the right people immediately know who you help and why they should pay attention. If you're serious about attracting more visibility, credibility, and opportunities on LinkedIn, the first step is understanding where your profile stands today. That's exactly why we created my free LinkedIn Thought-Leadership Scorecard. In just a few minutes, you'll discover how well your headline, About section, Experience section, and overall profile positioning are working together. More importantly, you'll identify the specific areas that may be preventing LinkedIn from fully understanding your expertise and showing your content to the right audience. 15. How To Build Go-To-Market Engines For B2B Companies from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Jul 30, 202631 min

About James Hayden I’ve generated over $1B in revenue across SaaS, marketplaces, and enterprise services — and built first revenues for companies from zero across 140+ engagements. Book a Free 30-Min GTM Diagnostic → I build go-to-market engines for B2B companies that drive lasting revenue. Over 38 years, I’ve transformed sales teams, opened new markets, and created new revenue streams for more than 140 companies. I serve as a multi-company advisor to US enterprises, the government of New Zealand, and several Central American governments. My client and employer roster spans enterprise technology, SaaS, hospitality, automotive, and government sectors across four continents: Enterprise & Technology: Microsoft, Oracle, Cendant, TravelClick (acquired by Amadeus), Zipwhip (acquired by Twilio for $850M), Zumobi, Uniken, RESAAS, LodgIQ, Fingermark Automotive: Ford, GM, Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Lexus, Kia Media & Partnerships: MSNBC, Starbucks Government & Trade: New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), Government of Costa Rica, Government of Guatemala Startups & Ventures: Hotelscan (successful exit), Ortega Expansion Consulting, Hayden Marketing Inc., Dignity For Divas When I took over TravelClick’s lowest-performing division, it ranked last out of four. Within a year, I turned it into the company’s top-performing unit — a turnaround that directly contributed to the company’s successful exit. If your sales org needs a reset, this is the kind of result I deliver. I was a founding member of Hotelscan, where I built over 140 partnerships from scratch. That groundwork drove the company to a successful exit in 2019. I know what it takes to build revenue from zero — because I’ve done it repeatedly. I learned to sell young — door-to-door as a kid — and never stopped refining the craft. My methodology is built on decades of real-world results, not theory. I wrote Adapt or DIE to share the approach that has driven my results, available in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook. 16. LinkedIn's New KPI Metric That Can Help Your Content from Networking and Marketing Made Simple, opens in a new tab

    Jul 27, 202610 min

Most LinkedIn users are missing one of the most important analytics updates the platform has released. Likes, comments, and even total impressions only tell part of the story.LinkedIn has quietly introduced a much more valuable KPI inside your analytics: Discovery. Under your impression analytics, you'll now see two categories: • In-network impressions: People who already follow you or are connected to you. • Out-of-network impressions: People who don't follow you and aren't connected to you. Here's why this matters. If the majority of your impressions are coming from your existing network, you're primarily reaching the same audience over and over again. But if a growing percentage of your impressions are coming from out-of-network viewers, LinkedIn is signaling that your content is valuable enough to recommend to people who have never heard of you before. That is how real audience growth happens. In my opinion, this is one of the healthiest KPIs to track because it shows whether your content is expanding beyond your current circle rather than simply recycling within it. Now, that doesn't mean in-network impressions are bad. Your existing audience should absolutely continue seeing your content. But if your goal is to attract new clients, grow your authority, and consistently reach fresh audiences, you want to see your out-of-network percentage increasing over time. Instead of asking, "How many impressions did this post get?"Start asking, "Who generated those impressions?" That's a much more meaningful question. Focus on creating content that teaches, sparks thoughtful conversations, and keeps people reading. When LinkedIn sees people finding value in what you share, it's far more likely to introduce your content to people outside your existing network. Growth doesn't happen by talking to the same people louder. It happens when LinkedIn starts introducing you to the people who don't know you yet. I know what it feels like to hit a turning point & wonder if it's too late to make a change. Spoiler: it's not. That’s why I created the 3HQ™ Method (Head, Heart, Higher Self)—a neuroscience-based system that teaches women how to align their mindset, reconnect with purpose, & step into what’s truly possible—personally & professionally. Clients come in feeling exhausted, disconnected, or craving more. They leave with clarity, courage, & a game plan. They launch businesses. Step into executive roles. Break income ceilings. And perhaps most importantly—finally feel aligned with who they are and where they’re headed. In this episode, I break down the four types of LinkedIn content that every service professional, coach, and consultant should create to attract the right audience and turn visibility into business growth. You'll learn how to create authority content that positions you as the expert, story content that builds trust, proof content that builds credibility, and conversation content that encourages meaningful engagement.
