Duane Davis’s defence attorney rested his case on Thursday after calling just three witness, all of them former Las Vegas police officers. Davis opted not to take the stand in his own defence. A very busy day in court on Tuesday at the Tupac Murder Trial. Six witnesses took the stand including a rapper who witnessed Tupac’s shooting and a former Compton police detective who gave the jury a 101 on street gangs. Plus, jurors saw evidence removed from the Las Vegas home of Duane "Keffe D Davis house when police executed a search warrant in the summer of 2023. The evidence included newspaper clippings about Tupac’s drive-by shooting found in a plastic tub in Davis’s garage alongside what the prosecution described as scrap book. A short day in court on Wednesday so there was only time to hear from two witnesses but the jury leaned a lot more about the man charged with orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur. In addition to being a leader or shot caller in the Southside Crips street gang jurors also learned from two retired law enforcements officers that Duane Keefe D Davis is a convicted drug dealer who at one time bragged he had southside Compton sewn up meaning he controlled the drug traffic in that area. Some tense moments in a Las Vegas courtroom on Tuesday as a former gang member took the stand at the trial of Duane "Keefe D" Davis. James Macdonald made it very clear that he didn’t want to be there because even though he doesn’t like Keefe D he doesn’t want to be responsible for sending him to prison. Macdonald was one of eight witnesses called by the prosecution on the second day of testimony including a Clark county medical examiner, a first responder and Reggie Wright Jr. who was the head of Death Row security. It's been 30 years since a back pack bomb rocked the Summer Olympics in Atlanta killing one person and injuring over 100 others. The bomb had been left under a bench in the middle of Centennial Olympic Park on the eighth day of the games. Security Guard Richard Jewell discovered the bomb and helped to start clear the area before it went off. Jewel was hailed a hero until he became the number one suspect.
