In Episode 193 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the boys from PHC dive into another round of board game and tabletop RPG reviews. Andy has been to Scotland, and while washing down yet another square slice with a can of Irn Bru he got a good look at Call of Cthulhu: Old Ones Origins, the remake of Forbidden Stars coming from Chaosium. We then have an upfront look of All's Well that Ends, a new Gloomhaven-esque fantasy battler that got our wallets worried at UK Games Expo. We then hit a couple of lighter games from our friends at Hatchette, with reviews of Space Lab, Akropolis: Athena, and Akropolis: Pantheon. To round things off, we don our spandex and become superheroes in Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying, the latest TTRPG from Free Leaugue. As always, expect tabletop game reviews, arguments about custard, strong opinions and the usual Polyhedron Collider nonsense as the boys work their way through another stack of cardboard and dice. In Episode 191 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the boys are back with another eclectic collection of tabletop board games. This week we're travelling from the depths of space to medieval kingdoms, with artificial intelligence, crazy wrestling and supernatural horror thrown into the mix. Whether you're looking for a new strategy board game, a clever two-player game, a campaign experience, or something a little more unusual, we've got plenty to discuss. We start with Aberration, a cooperative tower defence style board game set in the Grim hollow world. Next up is Revenant, the second game set in Mindclash's Voidfall universe and winner of our prestigious Definitely Not Sh!t Award at 2025's UK Games Expo. We then explore a couple of significantly lighter two-player games as we delve into Tag Team and Intelliwar: Accession To The Throne. Finally, we explore Kingdom Legacy: Feudal Kingdom a game that combines solo gameplay, deckbuilding and legacy gameplay elements. As always, expect plenty of board game reviews, strong opinions, questionable strategic advice and the usual Polyhedron Collider banter. In Episode 189 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the boys tackle another diverse collection of tabletop games and for once all the games (bar one) are based around a central theme. We kickoff with a remake of a great economic strategy board game, as we review Nippon: Zaibatsu, exploring how this new edition updates the classic Eurogame while retaining the deep strategic gameplay that made the original such a favourite. Swapping cubes for combat, we dive into Gruntz, the fast-playing tiny abstract wargame that puts tactical decisions front and centre. We chat about building forces, commanding troops, and why you need to take an iron to the pub. We then head into the forests of Japan with Ringyo, which is on Kickstarter right now. Following a demo at UK Games Expo, we've managed to get a few games in on an early prototype! Finally, er attempt to build a thriving city without sacrificing sustainability as we play Green City, a very different take from our favourite Fabio Lopiano. As always, expect lively discussion, honest board game reviews, a few disagreements, and the usual Polyhedron Collider tangents that somehow make perfect sense... eventually. Its back to the normal table top gaming conversation in Episode 188 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, we're travelling from the far reaches of space to the darkest corners of Lovecraftian horror, with a few rabbits and xenomorphs thrown in for good measure. First we take a deep dive into one of the most talked-about sci-fi strategy games of recent years, Andromeda's Edge. Does Andromeda's Edge build on the foundations of Dwellings of Eldervale, or does it chart its own course among the stars? We discuss the engine building, exploration, combat, and whether it's worth sitting at the table for nearly 3 hours!!! We then move to the complete opposite end of the board game spectrum with Bunny Kingdom Town, the new two-player only version of Richard Garfield's cutesy area control game Is it an essential addition or one for devoted bunny fans only? Then it's time to open the forbidden tomes as we investigate Miskatonic Tales: Journey to Innsmouth. We talk eldritch mysteries, impossible choices, and whether this Lovecraft-inspired story-driven game delivers the atmosphere and tension horror fans are looking for. Finally, we step aboard another doomed spacecraft with Alien: Rapture Protocol, the latest cinematic adventure for Alien RPG Evolved Edition. We discuss the new rule set while testing out the new adventure while asking the important question: did Sid backstab everyone? In Episode 185 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the boys tackle another eclectic lineup of tabletop goodness—featuring astronomical clocks, fantasy councils, tactical dungeon crawling, and heroic last stands against the forces of darkness. We begin in medieval Prague with Orloj, a beautifully themed Euro inspired by the construction of the famous astronomical clock. It's all about timing, efficiency, and trying not to get lost in a sea of gears and iconography. Next up, we head into the world of Kinfire Council, where negotiation, politics, and strategic card play collide. The dungeon-crawling boots are back on as we explore Warcrow Adventures. We discuss the campaign system, tactical combat, and whether Corvus Belli's leap into narrative fantasy adventure delivers the goods. Finally, we make our stand in Fate: Defenders of Grimheim, a co-operative tower defence-inspired board game full of monsters, teamwork, and heroic desperation. It's big, bold, and occasionally brutal. Along the way expect the usual Collider mix of over-analysis, questionable strategy advice, and tangents that somehow make perfect sense at the time. In Episode 184 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the lads take on a globe-spanning mix of games—from thoughtful design and vineyard strategy to mythic landscapes, video game chaos, and urban fantasy roleplaying. We begin with Ada's Dream, a thoughtful and inventive design that blends puzzly mechanisms with a unique theme. We then head back to the vineyard, in Viticulture: Bordeaux, exploring what this new twist brings to the classic worker-placement favourite and whether it's worth uncorking. Next, we venture into Yotei, to build a town using potatoes, in this light strategy game coming to Kickstarter soon. The light strategy continues, with Sanctuary, a remake of Ark Nova, but in as a tile laying game and in a change of pace likely to give you whiplash, we finish the board game chat with a look at the Apex Legends board game. Finally we speed through the magical streets of London in an old Jag, with the Rivers of London RPG. And don't forget—you can join the discussion over on our [ Discord server ]! In Episode 183 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the lads return from Airecon with plenty of stories, games, and questionable decisions to share. From sprawling Euros to chaotic space stations and a touch of ancient history, it's another packed episode, all brought to you with the letter S. We kick things off with a rundown of our time at Airecon, our favourite games, Rory hulking out and bouncing cutlery. Next up, we dive into Stupor Mundi, a rich Euro inspired by Emperor Frederick II. It's simple to teach but with a lot of strategy and dick-moves! Chaos then reigns in Stationfall, the hidden-role, sandbox sci-fi game where anything can (and will) happen. We share tales of betrayal, nonsense, and why this one creates such memorable moments. Its not Airecon without the chance to play a super-heavy Lacerda game so we head to Manhatten for Speakeasy, a stylish game of prohibition-era dealings. Finally, we travel back in time with Skara Brae, a game rooted in ancient history and is all about keeping your hovel tidy and free of clutter, an attack on every board game collector. Expect convention stories, hot takes, mild disagreements, and the usual Collider chaos throughout. And don't forget—you can join the discussion over on our [ Discord server ]! In Episode 182 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the gang explores a wonderfully eclectic mix of board games and table top roleplayings, spanning icy expeditions, cosmic discovery, puzzly strategy, musical nostalgia, and cinematic roleplaying. We venture into frozen lands in Ice & Idols, a pick up and deliver game of clever action use, and ancient treasures waiting to be uncovered an amazing looking board that constantly changes. Next up we revisit the search for extraterrestrial intelligence with the Space Agencies, the first expansion for SETI. Does it add new depth to one of our favourite games of 2024. Next we explore the light but beautiful Eternitium, a deck building and push your luck game about exploring other dimensions, and continue the light games with I Made You A Mixtape, a mixture of nostalgia and I mix you choose. Episode 181 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast is pure hell. We kick off lent by stuffing our face with pancakes, before living through the hell of a Nazi invasion in Halls of Hegra, a solo WWII survival game full of tension and tough decisions. We then descend into actual Hell in Inferno, a heavy euro-style board game about shepherding souls to the nine circles of hell and becoming the best accuser. It's been 10 years since Steve, Jon and Andy sat round a table after a few beers and recorded the very first episode of the Polyhedron Collider Cast. In the past 10 years we've reviewed hundreds of board games and tabletop roleplaying games, brought on two new hosts (Rory and Sid) and recorded nearly 200 episodes of ramshackle gaming nonsense. To celebrate we decided to revisit our favourite games of all time, the games we constantly want to play. So here's to another 10 years! To support Movember go to https://uk.movember.com/ In Episode 177 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the lads dive into four wildly different games — ranging from cinematic sci-fi terror to cosy druidic engine-building — with all the usual banter, questionable metaphors, and unsolicited opinions. We start at high altitude with Vantage, the new epic story based exploration game from Jamey Stegmaier and Stonemaier Games. Can we finally have a Stonemaier game that Andy actually likes? We then travel over the Misty Mountains and go full diggy diggy hole in Covenant from Devir , a worker placement game that is tight on actions and full of theme. Things then become calmer (and significantly greener) as we explore The Druids of Edora — a colourful, dice placement game from Stefan Feld. And finally, we head directly into the vents with our smart rifles ready to rock for Nemesis: Retaliation, the latest addition to Awaken Realms' survival-horror series. Expect panic, betrayal, epic alien encounters, and a weirdly sexy alien. And don't forget—you can join the discussion over on our [ Discord server ]!
