OUR MISSION: HELP OTHERS LIVE A HEALTHY, HAPPY LIFE. We started our first online business in the fitness world. We love working out at home, and I don't know a time we didn't focus on healthy eating. With that said – just being a fitness blog didn't feel like us. While we love getting into our skinny jeans, we also enjoy trying new restaurants, traveling, and going to wine festivals. We also fell in love with helping others grow an online business after ours changed our lives in 2011. So we wanted to include what we had learned as business owners with others!

  1. #142: Microdosing GLP-1's: Everything Women Over 35 Should Know

    Sep 15, 202645 min

Curious about GLP-1 microdosing but not sure where to start? In this episode, Kim & Kalee sit down for an honest, easy-to-follow masterclass and Q&A on GLP-1s, GLP/GIP, and microdosing — and what it can mean for metabolism, food noise, energy, and overall wellness, especially for women over 35. Both of us are certified in peptides, nutrition, and personal training, and we're sharing our own personal experiences along with the questions we get asked most. In this episode, we cover: How to think about whether a GLP-1 or GLP/GIP could be a fit for you Microdosing vs. a standard therapeutic dose — the real difference The options we've personally tried and how they compare What safe, sustainable use can look like, plus cycling on and off Supporting your hair and muscle through the foundations How to find a provider who actually listens to you Understanding the real costs and how to think about the investment Kim's personal story with Crohn's, inflammation, and menopause Kalee's personal story with food noise, cravings, and family history A quick disclaimer: This episode is for informational and educational purposes only and is not medical advice. We are not doctors. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your health, medication, or wellness routine. Individual results vary. GLP-1s are FDA approved for specific conditions; microdosing is considered off-label. Nothing here is a recommendation to start, stop, or change any medication. 2. #141: Body Image, the Scale, and Rewiring How We See Ourselves

    Sep 1, 202630 min

This week, Kim and Kalee step outside their usual teaching format for an honest, off-the-cuff conversation about body image, weight, and the mental patterns that shaped how they see themselves. Both of them grew up as "the chubby girl," and in this episode they open up about how those childhood experiences followed them into adulthood, and how they've worked to build a healthier perspective over time. They talk candidly about the messages that messed with their minds growing up, from Limited Two tank tops they couldn't fit into, to Disney Channel commercials, to the diet culture of the '90s that sold weight-loss foods instead of real nutrition. They also get into how social media has raised the pressure even higher now that the person you're comparing yourself to might live down the street, and may be using AI editing you'll never know about. From there, the conversation turns to tools and perspective: why strength training won't make you "bulky," how GLP-1 medications can be a helpful tool rather than something to judge or hide, and why nearly every tool (cardio, dieting, even tanning for light therapy) has a healthy middle ground and an unhealthy extreme. They close with a practical takeaway on complimenting people in a way that celebrates them without feeding into weight-focused thinking. If you've ever struggled with the number on the scale or worried about passing that struggle on to your kids, this one's for you. Have a question or a topic you'd like us to cover? 3. 140. Working Out and Eating Well but Still Not Seeing Results? Here's Why (Especially After 40)

    Aug 25, 202637 min

You're working out. You're eating well. You're hitting your protein. So why are your pants getting tighter instead of looser? In this episode, Kim and Kalee dig into the common reasons women, especially after 40, stop seeing results even when they feel like they're doing everything right. If you've been frustrated and ready to give up, this one's for you. Give yourself some grace, start with one small change, and celebrate the one thing you did instead of the ninety-nine you think you should have. In this episode: Why your body has no reason to change without progressive overload How much strength training to do each week — and how to split it The blood sugar and insulin connection to belly weight and energy crashes Why eating less and doing more cardio can backfire Getting 25–30g of protein per meal without overhauling your life Sleep as the foundation everything else is built on GLP-1 microdosing: what it is and how to know if it's a fit Links & Resources: Get the free guide — 6 Reasons You're Not Seeing Results $25 off Function Health (119+ blood markers) What Is Microdosing? 5. 138. Q&A: Fasting, Daily Menus, GLP-1s & Drinking More Water

    Aug 11, 202638 min

In this Q&A episode, Kim and Kalee answer listener questions on the topics women ask about most. They dig into whether long-term fasting is actually good for you—and why the answer is different for women, whose hormones and stress response don't match the mostly-male studies these protocols come from. Then they walk through a full day of real meals, share their tricks for finally drinking enough water, and have an honest conversation about GLP-1 peptides: the benefits beyond weight loss, why "low and slow" dosing matters, and why protein and the fundamentals come first. Plenty of laughs along the way, too. In this episode: Is fasting good long term? Why 12–14 hours can feel natural, and why longer fasts depend on your cortisol, leptin, ghrelin, and hormones What a full day of eating looks like How to drink more water What to look for in an electrolyte drink (potassium, sodium, magnesium—and a clean sodium source) Dream podcast guests they'd love to have on GLP-1 / GIP peptides: benefits beyond weight loss, the "start low and slow" approach, prioritizing protein, and why the foundations come first Working with a telehealth provider vs. buying "research only" products Mentioned in this episode: Function Health — full lab panels (including leptin), twice a year. 7. 136. Is Inflammation Keeping You From Losing Fat? with Curtis Gillespie Sayers

    Jul 28, 202658 min

If you've been cutting calories, adding workouts, & doing everything you've been told to do but the scale still won't move, this episode is for you! Integrative health coach Curtis Gillespie Sayers is back for part two of our inflammation conversation, & this time he walks us through exactly what is happening inside your cells that keeps fat loss stuck. If you missed part one, go back & listen to that one first. It sets up everything we build on here. Curtis works with some of the most complex chronic illness cases out there, often seeing clients who have already been through ten or more providers before finding him. Using comprehensive lab work, stool & urine panels, genetic data, & detailed history-taking, he builds personalized protocols around what is actually driving someone's experience. His training spans functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine, advanced peptide therapy, methylation & clinical nutrigenomics, blood chemistry analysis, & more. He now works with clients & mentors other practitioners & physicians. The thread running through this episode is that your body will not let go of fat while it is busy trying to survive. In this episode you'll learn: Why an inflamed cell stops burning fat & runs on glucose instead The difference between losing weight & burning fat How toxins stored in your fat cells get pushed right back in when your liver can't keep up What actually supports detox: your liver, your bile, & yes, your bowel movements Why bile becomes such a big issue on a GLP & what to do about it Why a caloric deficit without enough micronutrients backfires on you Refeeds, leptin, & why Curtis refuses to use the phrase cheat meal Why sleep beats the 5:30 am workout every single time Why cardio is your heart health tool & not your fat loss tool The least inflammatory way to train when your body is already running hot Connect with Curtis: Instagram: @ funct.med .curtis Skool Community: The Healing Path Website: Lifestyle Empowerment If you loved this episode, please leave a 5 star review & hit subscribe. Got questions or an episode idea? Let us know at soreyfitness.com/podcast This episode is educational only & is not medical advice. 8. 135. 3 Sneaky Things Creating Inflammation & What to Do with Curtis Gillespie Sayers

    Jul 21, 202636 min

If you've been eating clean, working out, & trying to do everything right but still feel exhausted, inflamed, & just not like yourself, this episode is for you! We sit down with integrative health coach Curtis Gillespie Sayers to uncover 3 sneaky things that are quietly driving inflammation in your body, & why most of us have no idea any of them are happening. Curtis has been working with Kim directly for almost a year. She sought him out after failing two biologics, & he helped her get her chronic inflammation under control to the point where she is no longer on any medication for her Crohn's. Kalee is also a member of his Skool community. Curtis works with some of the most complex chronic illness cases out there, often seeing clients who have already been through ten or more providers before finding him. His approach goes far beyond symptom management. Using comprehensive lab work, stool & urine panels, genetic data, & detailed history-taking, he builds personalized protocols around what is actually driving someone's experience, always with the philosophy of stabilizing the foundation first. His training spans functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine, advanced peptide therapy with Professor Vladimir Khavinson & Dr. Robin Rose, methylation & clinical nutrigenomics with Dr. Ben Lynch, blood chemistry analysis, biometric coaching through Traditional Chinese Medicine, & more. He now works with clients & mentors other practitioners & physicians. His motto says it all: if it breathes, I work with it. A central thread throughout the episode is one Curtis comes back to again and again: nothing in your body works in isolation, and sustainable healing rarely happens in a body stuck in chronic stress or dysregulation. In this episode you'll learn: Why modern stress hits your biology differently than it did for our ancestors How our dopamine-driven world is depleting your body's ability to handle stress The hidden viral infections like Epstein-Barr Why suppressing symptoms with Tylenol and NSAIDs could be making inflammation worse long term The cortisol confusion: what high and low cortisol each do to inflammation, and why testing matters The free foundational habits Curtis says move the needle more than any supplement Connect with Curtis: Instagram: @ funct.med .curtis Skool Community: The Healing Path Website: Lifestyle Empowerment If you loved this episode, please leave a 5 star review & hit subscribe. 10. 133. Chemicals Secretly Disrupting Your Hormones ft. Sara Jensen

    Jul 7, 202635 min

After 14 years of unexplained infertility and six rounds of IVF, Sara Jensen's doctor asked one question that changed everything: what products are you using in your home? What Sara and her husband Ben discovered led them to build Hugh and Grace, the first wellness brand built specifically around hormone health. In this episode we talk about what endocrine disruptors actually are, which products in your home are quietly working against your health, and where to start making simple swaps. If you are a woman in your 35s, 40s, or 50s, navigating perimenopause, menopause this one is for you. We even talk about how Hugh & Grace works in partnership with GLP's, HRT, and peptides. In This Episode What endocrine disruptors are and why every woman needs to understand them The biggest offenders hiding in most homes right now Where to start if you cannot replace everything at once The morning routine Sara uses daily How these products work alongside GLP-1s, HRT, and peptides Why Sara and Ben built an advocate community instead of selling in stores Timestamps 1:35 Sara's infertility story and the question that started it all 6:04 What are endocrine disruptors 9:36 Simple swaps and where to begin 13:17 The products Sara uses every single day 16:34 How every product is formulated with a medical advisory board 18:26 The morning routine breakdown 21:34 GLP-1s, peptides, HRT, and how Hugh and Grace fits in 26:31 The advocate opportunity 32:17 Where Hugh and Grace is headed Try the Morning Routine Get $10 off with code HELLO10 at: https://soreyfitness.com/recommends/hg/ Learn More or Become an Advocate Advocates get 25% off all products. 11. 132. Macros, Muscle, and Starting Over with Breanne Freeman

    Jun 30, 202646 min

Breanne Freeman has been in the fitness and nutrition space for years, but it's what she's done in her personal life over the last few years that makes this one of our favorite conversations we've had on the show. In the first half, Breanne breaks down the nutrition and fitness fundamentals that actually get women results: why most people nail the workouts but struggle with nutrition, how to use a weekly calorie average so one bad weekend doesn't derail your progress, the protein target she recommends for fat loss and muscle gain, what progressive overload actually means and how to know if you're doing it, and why strength training is the closest thing to a fountain of youth as we age. In the second half we get personal. Breanne walks us through rebuilding her life after divorce, how fitness became the foundation for a confidence she never had before, and what it looks like to create a full, happy life completely on your own terms. This one is equal parts practical and inspiring. We think you're going to love her. Find Breanne at @breannefreeman on Instagram and learn more about her BFIT app at getstarted.breannefreeman.com Takeaways Nutrition is where most women struggle, not the workouts One bad weekend doesn't ruin your week if you think in weekly averages Protein at 0.8 to 1 gram per pound of body weight is the target for fat loss and muscle gain Progressive overload doesn't always mean adding weight: deeper range of motion counts too Strength training protects your joints, hormones, and brain as you age Confidence isn't a personality trait, it's built through proving to yourself you can do hard things Divorce and hard seasons can become the foundation for the strongest version of yourself Your social life and support system don't disappear after a major life change, sometimes you just have to build a new one The Kim and Kalee Show is for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We're kicking off the return of The Kim and Kalee Show with two episodes based on what we've seen in our wellness community, and we brought in someone who's been in the wellness world since 2008 to help us get answers to some your most frustrating weight loss and hormone health questions. Tina Haupert — Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner, founder of Carrots N Cake and Fit and Fueled, is breaking down two topics that are in every woman's group chat right now. Episode 1: Perimenopause & Menopause You're doing everything right. Eating well, working out, sleeping (kind of). And the weight still isn't moving. Sound familiar? We're talking hormones, blood sugar, sleep, food, and what exercise is actually helping vs. quietly working against you. Real answers for a frustrating season of life. Episode 2: GLPs Everyone around you seems to be on one. Maybe you are too. We get into what's actually in them, why some include B12 or L-carnitine, what microdosing really means, and how to make sure you're sourcing something safe. The stuff your doctor doesn't have time to explain, but you have questions on. We are so glad to be back in your ears! 👇 Before you go: 🎧 Subscribe so you don't miss these episodes the second they drop 💌 Share this with the friend who needs to join us ⭐ Leave a 5-star review — it takes less than 30 seconds and it's how other women just like you find us #TheKimAndKaleeShow #WomensWellness #Perimenopause #GLPs #PodcastIsBack #WellnessPodcast #MomWellness #HormoneHealth

  16. 127: LIIFT4 vs Body Beast from The Kim and Kalee Show, opens in a new tab

    Mar 21, 202229 min

Worried about not having weights and equipment at home? We're sharing two of our favorite programs – LIIFT4 and Body Beast. Both of them are great programs that you can do at home if you're looking to build muscles. We hope you'd find the one that would fit your schedule and your goals. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOW: It's definitely a good thing to lift heavy. You're not going to get she-hulk muscles, but you're just going to keep your muscle tone. So don't be afraid to lift heavy! You can't tighten loose skin, but you can build the muscle underneath it. Body Beast is a 90-day program, consisting of three phases. Then you can pick either the Huge calendar or the Lean calendar. They have different types of sets you can do. They have a meal plan as well. But if you've already found something that works for you, stick with that. Body Beast equipment: dumbbells, stability ball, bench or step, EZ bar or barbell, pull-up bar, and band (optional) LIIFT4 is an eight-week program, where you get your workout four days a week. Each workout is unique. You do some strength training, then some HIIT, and then it finishes off with a core and stretch. Every program has everything in it! Budget an hour for Body Beast. While LIIFT4 takes 30-45 minutes to do it. LIIFT4 equipment: mat and dumbbells RESOURCES: "As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Click to view our full disclosure. 17. 126: 5 Exercise Hacks for When You're Short on Time from The Kim and Kalee Show, opens in a new tab

    Mar 7, 202225 min

Today, we're talking about five healthy exercise hacks when you're short on time. Sure, we all get busy throughout the day, but it's all a matter of being intentional because if there's a will, there's definitely more than one way! HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Tip #1: Look at your week ahead. You need a system because your calendar can be your best friend only if you adhere to it. And your habit tracker can be your best friend if you have allowed enough time to do each task per day. Tip #2: Make your time work for you. Re-evaluate your time and make sure you are still keeping happy. And is it how you really want to spend it? Make sure you're spending your time effectively and beneficially at home or at leisure. Tip #3: Work your exercise in your daily routines and activities. Safely park as far away as you can so you can walk. And be sure to walk quickly to boost your heart rate! If you're watching TV, do some burpees or jumping jacks in between commercial breaks. Or do push-ups every time you come out of the bathroom. Be creative! Tip #4: Food first, workout second. Food is really where you get most of the results. Think about what you spend on caffeinated drinks in the middle of the day. Tip #5: Make sure you're getting enough sleep. Don't sacrifice sleep in order to get a workout in. Bonus tip: Squeeze in your workout somewhere! Set a goal to work out either early in the morning or at least do yoga before going to bed. Feb 21, 202226 min

There are several ways you may be cutting down on your NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) – especially when you're on the computer most of your time. In this episode, find out ways you can stay NEAT active even when you're just inside the house. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis refers to all the activities that you do when you're not sleeping. It means you're always burning calories, whether you're fidgeting or exercising, or walking around. Get up and do something to keep your NEAT up such as walking the dog, washing the clothes, cooking, cleaning the house, and doing other chores around the house. If you're not keen on housework, do things like walking your dog, going up and down the steps, or walking back and forth when brushing your teeth. The best step days are errand days like grocery shopping. There are all kinds of ways to get your NEAT in, you just have to be mindful of it! NEAT not only benefits your body but also your brain because it enhances your creativity. RESOURCES: "As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Click to view our full disclosure. 19. 124: Dieting Distractions: 3 Tips For A Move or Holiday from The Kim and Kalee Show, opens in a new tab

    Feb 7, 202227 min

How do you make the right and the best food choices right after the holidays or major life events where you felt you went a little off track? Things can happen that take you out of your already wacky life and make it a little bit wackier – and that could last for a little while. But you know things have got to stop at some point. Today, we're giving you some tips on how to keep it as normal as possible. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Tip #1: Manage your expectations and keep your expectations within reason, but don't go extreme. Be realistic about your priority. Set some minimal goals to keep you on track and make sure to forgive yourself if things don't go your way. Instead of trying to stick to your meal plan and failing, and then you go into this vicious cycle of feeling guilty and binge eating, just go in with the expectation that there are days you're going to have to eat crap. Tip #2: Make a plan. Set a time period and allow yourself some leeway to get your butt back in gear, but not a whole month. Give yourself a grace period of around 2-3 days, but not a whole month. Tip #3: Tell your buddy what your plan is. It's very beneficial to have an accountability partner to help you get and stay on track. Planning and the buddy system go hand-in-hand. You can plan events together to keep you motivated. Be comfortable in your own body but be sure to be mindful of your health. Make room for allowances. If you're attending a party on a Friday, then adjust what you're going to eat the next day. RESOURCES: "As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Click to view our full disclosure. 20. 123: Setting Intentions from The Kim and Kalee Show, opens in a new tab

    Jan 24, 202239 min

Today, we talk about our goals and daily habits and how they've changed in the last 5 to 10 years. We actually started setting goals about 9 years ago – so we've had our share of embarrassing, unnecessary goals as well as the super attainable ones. What are your goals? They can be big, audacious goals, but remember, they have to mean something to you. It's also important to set intentions because they're going to help you achieve those goals. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Not all goals are supposed to be necessarily realistic, but they should be somewhat attainable. You should be able to believe it and do it. Otherwise, it's just a dream. You're probably not going to have the most perfect experience because you're going to learn from it. There's a discrepancy in what we've been told to want and what we really want and what will make us happy. You've got to find the balance. You have to be responsible but you also don't want to be depriving yourself of things you enjoy. The more we've set goals, the more we realize that you need to have to be well-rounded – the material, the financial, the spiritual, relationships, your health, etc. – and plan out each part. Go through each one of your goals, ask yourself – does this align with your priorities? People overestimate what they can accomplish in a year, and underestimate what they can accomplish in a decade. We're setting our intentions for the upcoming week. And we figure out what we're going to do to make sure that happens. RESOURCES: "As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
